- ESP 8266 -01 is basic model WIFI module and can be interfaced with any Microcontroller to provide WiFi facility.
This video describes how to upgrade the module to AiThinker Firmware.
1MByte RAM on board , so use 1MB (8Mbit) dout .bin file for firmware.

Thank you very much! The ESP8266 of mine, bought new, had a baud rate of 57600, and only gave partial RESET information. I took a blind chance and follow your flash procedure, and now I can actually run all the commands... thank you!

Definitely deserve more subscriptions, great tutorial, very simple, helped to get through my esp8266 01 configuration. I would highly recommend use external power and voltage regulator(resistors, 100uF capacitor) , plus the resistors that comes with Rx, since it may damage the chip. Thank you again good sir.

I used a programming module from Amazon, but it still needs '0' connected to GND and 'E' connected to 3V3.

I followed all of your steps and after firmware update the esp8266 is on continuous reset loop, am unable to enter the AT commands. Is there a solution for this?

I am using Arduino nano for this. Firmware update is done. But in coolterm I am trying AT but nothing is visible. But still byte getting increase when I type.

I have question: After erasing flash, the error occurs: "failed to write at target flash". and I repeat over and over again still the same error appears? How can I solve this issue?
all set as per your instructions but after ready AT command show error when arduino reset removed AT word received continuously and also chip is getting hot

Hello sir... I was using a esp12e in one of my blynk project.... Today suddenly it stop connecting to wifi.. I tried to connect it to my Mobile hotspot bt it did not connect... Although my boards works as i tested it with simple blinking Arduino sketch... But i am unable to figure out why i doesn't connect to the wifi... I checked all my credentials they all are correct as they work with other boards... So after some digging into Internet i thought to upate the firmware and uploaded AI THINKERS bin file as you have shown in this video.... But now When i type in AT common it writes ERROR... Show can you help me

I can't download the flasher simple
When I create your circuit diagram and push the reset button, the blue LED of ESP-01 is not flashing. I don't understand, how can I fix this problem. For all that, I tried to flash the ESP but "Failed to connect" message occurs in the screen always.
Edit: LED blink fixed, but still "Failed to connect" message occurs in the screen.
