4:14 is not only one of my favorite surprise-modulations ever, it's also one of the sleekest and most elegant piano solos. This concert was released on CD under the title "All this time", and I've been listening to it on repeat for 5 years now. Highly recommend the entire concert.
Look at 0:58 - He just can't believe how poignant is this song which he plays right after the New York Twin Towers collapse... "An endless turning stairway climbs To a tower of souls If it takes another thousand years, a thousand wars, The towers rise to numberless floors in space" His voice is filled with pain, he hardly can sing for a moment after that
There will never be enough words to describe the brilliant artistry of Sting, and the musicians he chooses to create with. Endless joy and inspiration. Thank You Sting
Just rewatching this show, how achingly beautiful and tragic that was and it still feels so special and there's so much grief underneath. Thank God they decided to carry on with the concert. It's so true, it gives hope. Incredibly insanely talented musicians THE WHOLE BAND, REALLY. Love and peace, as old-school and absurd as this claim sounds like:. Love and peace to all lives on mother earth. Play on, sing on...
Watch the entire Tuscany concert before you say the man's voice is tired. He chose to perform this way.Even nowadays Sting's voice is a wonder and cannot be touched by much younger performers.
This exclusive private concert was recorded the evening of 9/11/2001. Sting was still in shock after the twin towers tragedy. He had cried and was very sad and distraught that day, but his crew insisted he sung anyway to fight the bad feelings. I suppose that's why his voice seems tired.
Que motivante concierto, sobretodo por la fecha que se realizó, 11/09 una fecha maldita para un concierto precioso, con músicos de primer nivel. Gran Jaquinho y Marcos
This was recorded 23 years ago today. Odd that I found myself here today. During the filming of this, before this concert, 9/11 occured. If you watch this in its entirety you see their reaction to it.
appreciate the post....These are truly great artists indeed!! i have the cd with this exact performance on it.(but have currently misplaced it and very much miss it!!) It's much better with head phones on, a paint brush in hand and canvas coming to life...
Jaques Morelembaum!! Maravilloso chelista y maravillosa persona. Maravilhoso cellista e pessoa. Wonderfull cellista and person. I love him and his violoncello.
Compare the orchestration and lyrical style of this song to the stuff from Dream of the Blue Turtles and you’ll understand exactly how far Sting has come from a song writing perspective. One of my top three favorite sting songs.

Great emotions Love You Sting
❤ the flow; mesmerizing.
Elegant is the word. The piano solo in particular (Jason Rebello
This is the best live version of the song. The melody at the end is amazing!
This is the best version of A Thousand Years, period. Perfect Love Gone Wrong is good, too. But it's a bit of a silly song.

Also, look at 1:31 where keyboard player is wiping a tear.
Está versión me fascina la verdad todas las canciones de Sting me encantan.
@@lehcyfer still brings one to tears may there be peace on earth
Absolute Perfection - this performance by singers and musicians can only be described as ethereal, otherworldly.
A perfect description of a soul's journey through time and space....other worldly.
There will never be enough words to describe the brilliant artistry of Sting, and the musicians he chooses to create with. Endless joy and inspiration. Thank You Sting
Props to Chris Botti❤

This song touches me to my core.
song hat mich etwas zur Ruhe gebracht
He was in Italy when our Twin Towers were struck. A Thousand Years was in his set.
Dios mío! Que hombre tan precioso, talentoso y sexy! Todo en uno. Y con los años más hermoso aún

I have to say that this is a song for Trudie & they see each other as Twin Flames. Such a wonderful masterpiece.

maravillosa cancion!!
sting me encanta

Epic!
Is that Christian McBride on the bass? He's such a great bass player.. He can get the most beautiful sounds of that bass.
I was just thinking that was him!
Yep that is a younger Christian McBride. The whole album was just magical on September 11 of 2001
I have heard that this concert was exactly after 09/11
yes it was that day
eres grande
great show!! 💐🌹What is the name of the second song of this performance? (After the song of a thousand years)
woawwwww
September 11, 2001😞
oui c'est lui! il est le batteur de grands chanteurs
And a young Chris Botti ... in the background ...

Un año, dos, diez.. Una vida... con poca voz, con poca energía... calladamente.
