When I got punched in the face he somehow came back in my life a year later, tackled me, raped me one time and also would lock me in rooms in the house and threaten me. He would leave a blade in there for me to use it and try killing myself. The last time I tried leaving was torture and he held a knife to my neck and drove around w me. I would get tortured everyday and would not sleep. He would say he had a Gun and threaten me if I left, along w my family. He tortured me all night into the am until I had to go into work at 5 am, every day! Constantly beat down and treated like trash. One day i had enough after he ripped every single item I owned along w appliances, even though it was not the first time. I was left w nothing. This is the bare minimum that I had to endure but just putting it into a small paragraph. Point is I still felt every day depressed after he left and couldn’t get over him. I tried and tried for years until last year I finally stopped caring and realizing I need to live myself because no one else will! My advice is that I know it takes time to get over the hopes and illusions you had w a person, maybe the reason of why you fell in love in the first place but remember it is a FANTASY AND ILLUSION WE CREATE. Thinking they will either change and be back to that person they once were not the monster they became. It can take time like a few years to fully realize things. My advice is don’t let your anger and depression get you down and continue with creating a life you want. Remember we came alone in this world and we will leave alone so for now show the ones you love that they matter in your life and forget the ones who you don’t matter in their life. I turned to alcohol and one day was raped while intoxicated by a stranger or strangers all because I lost my reality of who I was! I then got a deadly disease. Abuse of any kind is NEVER Ok and should not be tolerated under any circumstances because no one has the right to put their hands on another person unless it is justified meaning self defense from an unknown assailant etc. It is very important to always value who and what you are and to know your worth meaning love yourself both inside and out no matter what because self love is the greatest love of all.

This show has me wondering if abuse victims should be considered temporarily incompetent when they are unable to make decisions that are in theirs and their children’s best interests. Going back to someone who abuses you in front of your children should be considered child endangerment.
It actually is. This is well documented now and so there is a high possibility that child services will remove the children and mom will have the choice to leave him or lose her parental rights. Reunification is the goal but only so many times. If she gets the kids and goes back, they will take them again. If a child spends 18 out of 24 months in state foster care, they are legally eligible to be put up for adoption without parental consent although they will have to get a court to terminate parental rights. The ones who slip through the cracks usually live in densely populated areas where the state is overwhelmed with calls of abuse. It is awful no matter what but at least with this video the state can intervene.
I think they’re both victims. Emotional, mental and physical abuse reactions are so difficult bc many ppl would leave and saying just leave is so easy but actually doing it isn’t that easy. I was traumatized and beat for YEARS! Once I had a child, my child came first and I left because children are innocent and you must love them more than yourself, and before any man. Any woman that fails to leave for the sake of her children is weak and a bad mother.
I think she just wants her kids to have a father. That’s why she puts up with it. And she feels like she will not find anyone better. They probably have good times and she puts those over the bad.

It's a terrible situation and far too common unfortunately. There are women who want to leave their abusers but are too afraid and women who stay with their abusers clinging to false hope that they will change. And right in the middle of it are kids who are psychologically traumatized and scarred for life. It's so unfair for them.
Ok, she made a mistake going back to him, but it's because she's scared he'd find out where she went if she did leave him, and probably beat her up again or kill her. If it were me, no matter how hard ESPECIALLY when Steve said they'd help her, I'd leave his ass. If I would've gotten the opportunity like she did to get help to leave her abusive husband, I'd have left my ex way before 2 years went by. Thankfully my current man does not put hands on me.
I know someone in a similar situation and though the best thing is to leave the husband, you guys have to understand just how dependent an abused woman becomes. She’s going to leave when she’s ready and if someone forces her to leave now another abusive man will find her and put her right back in that same place.
When someone is crippled by fear they accept things that they really should not. This woman is a victim, as are her children for having to witness abuse within the home. As he has admitted to putting his hands on her, and that he has done so during her pregnancy, the police should be notified and he should be arrested and charged for domestic abuse. If he did prison time, which I am sure he would and she received help, advice and support to move on, she would. As long as hes around he will always have his claws in her back, if he's gone she can move freely, hopefully as far away from him as possible.
This is not the 1st time a wife went to her abusive husband. As a mother i would the security of of my kids over him in a minute. I pray that her kids not get abused by him.

I actually do know how it affects kids- I was one of them, having seen it, I got in to an abusive relationship and thought it was normal. Was a victim as a child, then as an adult. Don't act like you know me by saying I don't understand.

I was traumatized and beat for YEARS! Once I had a child, my child came first and I left because children are innocent and you must love them more than yourself, and before any man. Any woman that fails to leave for the sake of her children is weak and a bad mother.

Some people make excuses of why it's hard to leave, I left because my kids deserved better....had to start over and everything but it's worth it. Stop being dependent on a man ladies, have your own everything that way it's much easier to take off and start over.

It's a terrible situation and far too common unfortunately. There are women who want to leave their abusers but are too afraid and women who stay with their abusers clinging to false hope that they will change. And right in the middle of it are kids who are psychologically traumatized and scarred for life. It's so unfair for them.
I genuinely feel badly for her. I hope that she leaves him and never looks back.

Ok, she made a mistake going back to him, but it's because she's scared he'd find out where she went if she did leave him, and probably beat her up again or kill her. If it were me, no matter how hard ESPECIALLY when Steve said they'd help her, I'd leave his ass. If I would've gotten the opportunity like she did to get help to leave her abusive husband, I'd have left my ex way before 2 years went by. Thankfully my current man does not put hands on me.
I know someone in a similar situation and though the best thing is to leave the husband, you guys have to understand just how dependent an abused woman becomes. She’s going to leave when she’s ready and if someone forces her to leave now another abusive man will find her and put her right back in that same place.

When someone is crippled by fear they accept things that they really should not. This woman is a victim, as are her children for having to witness abuse within the home.
As he has admitted to putting his hands on her, and that he has done so during her pregnancy, the police should be notified and he should be arrested and charged for domestic abuse.
If he did prison time, which I am sure he would and she received help, advice and support to move on, she would.
As long as hes around he will always have his claws in her back, if he's gone she can move freely, hopefully as far away from him as possible.
This is not the 1st time a wife went to her abusive husband. As a mother i would the security of of my kids over him in a minute. I pray that her kids not get abused by him.
