    Hi Cyanide Surprise!
    In Clear Melt and Pour, the activated charcoal will be brighter. That means it will give you more of a black hue, rather than a dark gray. =)

      If I don't have rose absolute essential oil can I substitute for English rose? And if I don't have Sandalwood essential oil what can I substitute that with? To make this soap.

    Hi Brittany Mullins!
    So glad you love the videos! You may like 100% olive oil, or castile soap. It is made entirely of olive oil, and is very gentle on the skin. Read more about castile soap and learn how to make it here: www.soapqueen.com/bramble-berry-news/olive-oil/
    I would also recommend talking to your doctor to learn which ingredients work for your skin. =)

    This is a stunning colour combination and one we used for our signature 2 blend. I want to say that although Rose Absolute is expensive and we use it quite a bit, you guys in the states can buy it at a great price from Anne Marie. Oz for oz I pay a lot more so if anyone is thinking about making this soap you are getting a bargain from Brambleberry. Grab it whilst you can as the cost of Rose absolute is going through the roof. Lovely to see you back Ann Marie.x

    I made these as my first soaping project, and my testers and I all love it! I did swap purple Brazilian clay and a little violaceous violet mica for color with the rose clay, but the color is still wonderful and the soap is so soft! The purple also goes very well with the black of the charcoal and your black amber and lavender FO. Thank you so much for helping me get my foot in the door with soaping!

    These looks so beautiful!!!! Rose Absolute and Sandalwood - definitely a luxury bar. :) I can only imagine how beautiful it smells. Ive never seen Brazillian Mandarin EO before - well, not here in Europe. Am definitely intrigued now. Im not a fan of M&P - I think because I just love making soap from scratch, but when I see these pop out of the moulds and how smooth and perfect they are, both in texture and colour - I think yes M&P would be the better option for this soap since the EOs mean a higher price point and therefore the product needs to look slick! Thanks again for a great video.

    LOL I was finally getting myself to just get all the ingredients and tools to make this, figured the melt & pour, molds, clay and charcoal added up to (eventually) like $2 per bar... and then I looked at the essential oils. 6ML of sandalwood essential oil is $35, same for the mandarin essential oil! $70 in essential oils to make 12 bars :o what?!!? Am I missing something?! Like I love and miss my co-workers during isolation but I don't miss them $210 in essential oils much!!

    Hi Ann-Marie, I know we shouldn't use aluminum bowls/utensils when mixing ingredients for cold process soap making, but when the soap is finished and cut, can we store the bars for curing on aluminum trays? I am looking to get one of those large baker's cooling racks on wheels and the trays that slide into them. They are large 18x26 trays. I am working from home for now, so I need a rack on wheels to be able to move it around the room if needed. I don't really have room now for a permanent shelf system until we can upgrade to a warehouse. Just wanted to know if aluminum trays are ok or not? Thanks!

      Hi there!
      Shipping is based on the weight and distance from Bellingham, WA. After all items have been added to your cart, you can get a quote by entering your location. The shipping quote does not include any import or duty fees, (which vary from country to country).

      Hi there! Thanks for the reply. I was just wondering because I added one item to my cart to estimate the cost of shipping and it was $30+. I'm based in burnaby, which I think isn't very far from Bellingham, so that's why I was wondering why it was so expensive. Thanks.

      her products are great but her shipping is killer. I dont know why. you can get better prices on amazon for the clays and melt and pour. also try finding a shipping co that ships from us to canada, I use vicargo and they charge like 10 bucks to bring from florida to usvi and she charges 70-100 bucks. big dif.

    Thanks for the answer. I did use about 3 teaspoons of charchol and dispersed it in alcohol which is a great trick! I am using a white base correct . My question is on this episode you also use a white base but yours comes out black? Thoughts? How much can I increase without issue?

      Hi Tanya!
      While the soap does appear black in the video, the final soaps do have a gray tint: www.brambleberry.com/Charcoal-and-Rose-Clay-Spa-Bar-Kit-P5816.aspx
      Because the base is white, it's difficult to get a dark black color. If you prefer, you can use a clear base. That will result in a deep black color, versus a darker gray. =)

    great soaps! can we disperse the charcoal and rose clay in sweet almond oil instead of alcohol? thanks :)

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mahima Dissoria Thank you so much!
      I would recommend dispersing the charcoal and clay in alcohol. It disperses the powders evenly and evaporates out of the soap. However, the extra oil can make your soap greasy or oily. If you do add extra oil, we recommend no more than 1 tsp. per pound of soap.
      You can also mix the powders with glycerin if you like! =)

      +Ciaomamabella So glad you love the soap! The great thing about making your own products is that you can customize based on your budget and preferences. For instance, you can use recycled containers as molds! Learn how to do that in this tutorial: th-cam.com/video/aCdcCWVlsSE/w-d-xo.html
      You can also use fragrance oils in place of essential oils, as they tend to be more affordable: www.brambleberry.com/Fragrance-Oils-C161.aspx
      Learn more about using fragrance oils in this video: th-cam.com/video/c5ouJZfluMY/w-d-xo.html
      And if you decide to sell the soap, this post has lots of helpful information on how to price it: www.soapqueen.com/business/guest-post-pricing-products/
      Hope that helps! =)

    That rose layer would be nice with some seeds, so it looks like strawberry or something :) In one of your videos you said that the soap has to sit for 6 weeks before being used. Is that the same for all these soaps? I wanted to make some as a gift for someone in about 3 weeks time.

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      McPrfctday You're right, strawberry seeds would be so cute in this recipe!
      Strawberry seeds: www.brambleberry.com/Strawberry-Seeds-P4091.aspx
      Also, great news - this soap is ready to use once it's cool and hard! Melt and pour soap is ready to use right away, while cold process soap needs to cure 4-6 weeks. This recipe would be a great thing to make if you're in a time crunch. =)

    Hi! You have great tutorials. I am new into soap making and am trying to understand how to use my colorants: natural vs synthetic. Do you have any tutorials on the different clays and natural colorants? Would like to learn more about them before purchasing them.

    This looks wonderful! I can't wait to try this out for my bridesmaids! I think this will make excellent gifts! Is it possible to add flower petals to the top of this? Would that ruin it?

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      IvyLantern These would totally make a fun gift for bridesmaids! You can add flowers to this recipe if you like! I would recommend spritzing them with 99% isopropyl alcohol, sprinkling them in the mold cavities and then pouring the soap on top. If you want the roses on top of the pink and white layer, you can pour that first. =)
      The flower petals may not want to stick, and will eventually turn brown because they're a natural product. I would recommend making a small test bar to see how the petals do!
