I have one of these Weber Connects that I use just for smoking briskets and other things. Purchased brand new from an authorized retailer, the unit was never able to retain 100% battery after a full overnight recharge (with a 'good' cable and charger). The ambient probe is accurate, but it does this thermal runaway drift thing where it gradually reports the temperature is up to 600 F when the smoker is still only really 200 to 250F...after resetting, it goes back reporting correct temperature and stays like that for most of the cook. The iOS app software is also very glitchy...at about 4 hours into a smoke, all my timers and temperatures go into this perpetual cycle of being displayed then disappearing then being displayed then disappearing...until I reset the probes and software, and start a new app session. The alarms (like your temperature band limits) also stop working after a certain number of them being reported. The ambient probe also has never been exposed to any flame (which apparently destroys them), so I don't know what the problem is. It's only 9 months old and I'm going to try a warranty claim and see how that goes, but I'd suggest looking elsewhere. They aren't updating that app or the device anymore either, which probably fix some of these issues. It's like this thing was ambitiously designed and verified by a bunch of college engineering students that still don't know anything about quality.
Came across your video today. Very informative. More than a year later how do you feel about the Weber? With a current sale going on at ThermoWorks that puts the Signals much closer in price it’s a harder decision. My old, missing, thermo-hub was an old Weber iGrill which I think has compatible probes so wouldn’t need to buy extra.
Nice to see a review on this from someone in the UK👍🏼
Thank you for a very informative review. Especially for the accuracy test!

Thanks for the video. Are custom cooks possible?
