Watched this video numerous times, brought one a Dragon Fruit Silver Sky from my local mom and pop store Saturday. I love it, neck feels great, pickups are fuller and fatter than the duncans in my strat. Dragon Fruit is the best of the SE colors, depending on the lighting it almost looks like a pale fiesta red.
It's one of those days where your feed has 10,000 videos of a new product all at the same time which you won't be able to even come close to getting your hands on for 6 to 9 months.
Great review once again Dagan. I think I'd go "Moon White" as a bit of a personal nod to Richie Blackmore. I've got an SE Custom 24, so would love one of these to complement it. What a cool little bar for the review. You should get out more on your reviews 😂

Cheers! Unfortunately it's not a real Klon, it's the Ceriatone Centura, still sounds amazing though! Settings wise nothing was really too crazy, PRS Archon on the clean channel, All EQ at 1 o'clock-ish, with a Strymon Flint for reverb. You can see all the pedal settings on the video at around 6:50. The rest is all the guitar man! That and Johns killer tunes. Stoked people are recognising 'Victoria' too! 🤘

Nice demo. Not really a Mayer fan but my Wife bought Continuum when it was new. Some good stuff there. ahhh, the 3 on a side headstock on a 'strat'. Gots one, $75.00 Deltatone. I bought this new about 10 years ago. Still plays and sounds good. Sorta CSB, TS guard, hss with blk parts. Looks great Really one of the homeliest head stocks ever but at least they tried, giving it the same finish as the body. PRS is abit nicer ;)

I've always been a Fender guy but also love my SE 245 Ltd Edition I've hsd for about 6 years or so... Is it worth getting one of these? F### it something different for the wall I guess haha. Thanks man! These guitars are a bit of a paradox, they are very Strat’ish - but also very modern feeling, but not in the same way that Fender make the Strat modern. It’s a really quirky guitar and for the price it’s just astounding.
I don't know if they'll ever see this comment or even care but, one reason I can't get into this channel is because you guys don't enable the auto-generated subtitles. For us non English native speakers, certain accents can be a bit difficult to understand and that's when auto generated subtitles comes incredibly handy. I've gotten several videos recommended from this channel but can't finish any.
Finally got to try one of these yesterday. Look lovely untill you look at the headstock. Cant believe they put plastic tunning nobs on it and truss road, makes the headstock look cheap. Would of been nice to se the option of a maple fretboard on them to. Sounded nice and felt lovely to play. The only problem i have is, in Britain they are £300-£350 more than a player series. If i was spending £900 on a S type guitar, i would be more inclined to buy a player series for £550-£600, that would leave me enough money for some locking tuners and a choice of premium pups, could put a set of bareknuckles, duncans or american fenders etc on my axe. I personally would buy a player series and put an American loaded Fender pickguard 57/62"s on it and some locking tuners and that would be a high quality strat!!
Hmm… like the core series version, the issue is the price point. Sure, it seems like a nice strat style guitar… but that’s about it. For $100+ less, you could get a brand new player series fender strat. Save up another couple hundred bucks, you’re in used USA fender territory. For around the same $900, you can get a schecter nick Johnston signature, which, feature wise, crushes this thing (locking tuners, roasted maple neck, etc.). What do you get from the silver sky se that you don’t get from, say, a squier CV strat at half the price? A ridiculous 8.5 inch radius, guaranteed to fret out past the 12th fret? Rosewood instead of laurel/pau ferro? I’m not altogether convinced…
The worst thing about SE's is the damn giant SE PRS puts on the headstock and gig bag. They should just screen print "the cheap one" or "I"m poor" on there instead. Even Fender figured out to put "Made in Mexico" on the back.
Almost £900 and no hard case? PRS can stick that where the sun don't shine. Are PRS now in competition with Gibson for who gets the biggest cheapskate award? At the end of the day, it's just another Stratocaster rip off.
You don't even get a hard case with a Fender American Performer, which is over a grand. It seems everyone is cheaping out on cases now, as you don't get so much as a gig bag with a Player Series, for example.
I don’t believe that’s something that the bar owners would be aware of AT ALL. I think they may just have it because the bars colour pallet is blue, and a USA dive bar aesthetic. In the UK we don’t see that flag often at all, that’s why it slipped past me. I’ll mention it to the bar owners. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
