Man this game was absolutely legendary, I played this sooo much as a teen. Even bought a new copy when my first one got all scratched up. A true gem.
It's a pure nostalgia trip for me, which is why I really wanted to do the speedrun.

Yeah definitely, I use to play on the hardest difficulty possible and just run tag team and fatal four way matches for hours. My favorite moments were the comebacks. You’re low health & getting jumped, counter a few punches, kicks, or a grab and then trigger that Blazin cut scene... OMG SO HYPE! 😂
You can download ppsspp on Android then look up free roms and bang u got it on ur phone then Bluetooth a psp controller and u got a free psp and unlimited games for free

I prefer ma kb sf..it's the one I mistakenly created without even knowing, my first ever creation. It has long grapple, good counter and a very good punching combo when moving forward
SF + KB + MA is by far my favorite combo. This was actually the first combo I ever tested out and I missed it for the longest time. I also tried out MA + WR + SM but for some reason it just didn't feel as satisfying. Now that I reverted to my original combination I haven't looked back since 😅

LOL I love it. I created a couple characters for this game a loooong time ago and (for some reason) was thinking about what style he had. I created the best one and the guy the had a badass almost a Baji Quan-esque style.

WR+SF+MA= tough KO artist.
2 styles with quick KO and MA for speed. Plus that toughness and striking power is crazy with the speed.
Street fighting+Martial Arts+Kickboxing. Is an absolute power house. You can easily destroy anyone within under a min. Without weapons, the help of the crowd, or throwing them against something. Also if you want a drunken master type fighting style. Go with Martial Arts+Street Fighting+Wrestling. It's pretty entertaining tbh imo. I wish I could play it again. Maybe one day I will and upload it
Yes ,it is a powerhouse as street fighting will enhance your punches and kickboxing will enhance your kicks in addition to martial arts giving you advantage in speed and defense meaning even if you have mid health you can tank punches of a street fighter or kicks of a kickboxer like a wrestler would ,making this combination an excellent Speedrun material
MA + KB + SM is the most fast combination, the punch combo are so freaking satisfatory
It's got flying kicks and a one strike K.O. when you punch hard and opponents life is very low

SF/KB/WB and honestly the only combination i ever used. You can start with a kick boxing clinch, and slam them after, throw a haymaker to finish them off.
In my opinion in the starter combination you should use
Martial artist + king boxer + submissioner
Is actually really good for counter attacks and defence and grapple attacks and offence because with the king boxer and martial artist you can give really hard hits and damaging opponents limbs like head,arms and this will help you a lot with the submissions and the offence because if the opponent will parry with low arms health even a weak punch will break his parry...
You should try this combination because is good and really fun to play with...
But my actual first combination when i started the is
Street fighter + king boxer + submissioner.
KB+MA+SF is my favorite

Haymaker KO
Definitely for a quick fighter. Easy counters on strikes and grapples
But the haymaker punch is close to opponent
2nd best build in the game, has gr8 neutral heavy kick and 2 chain stun light grabs only downside is you can finish the clinch with punches. But despite that still one of the best caf builds in the game

My favorite combination is Kickboxing, Street-Fighting, Wrestling.
Strong clinch game, hard hitting knees and strong grapples. And to top it off you got a big haymaker to knock your opponent out with.
I've tried that one before. It's indeed a very fun one 🙂.

KB + WR + MA 🔥
WR, SF + KB is a great style, toughness all the way, strong punches and kicks, not to mention the KB clinch, the SF homing haymaker, and, of course, WR hard grapples, which you can use them, after punishing your opponent with the KB kick clinches
Yeah yeah you got it there right. This style mix is almost invincible. Let me recommend you: KB SF + WR. Of course sadly you got short grapples but his kick n' punch combos are as fast as the devil himself.
I picked SF > MA > WR for my first character. The strong punch was a faster and more precise version of SF strong punch.

I rock KB, WR, and MA. That usually yields a pretty good result for me. Decent speed, HIGH damage, plus several different knockout paths.

You are not obliged to get other styles. It just happens that they are beneficial for your stats.

My personal favorite stlye is: KB + WR + SF
It's just devastating, though is close range, except for the haymaker punch. I really recommend it.
You hit really hard and the clench attack plus a werstling move is an easy KO, also your punches are the fastest
💯 plus you have 2 heavy grabs that can chain stun your opponent 🤣
I have a question, what does the "BEST" class combo u made in the vid? Is it muay thai, karate or etc?
It's difficult to say. I'm not sure it even has a combo label. I see it as more of an 'all-rounder'

I liked wrestling kickboxing and martial art or street fighting because you can finish people with nice looking wrestling moves after giving the knees

at my very first game I try SF MA KB I just focus at the speed so that I can land combos and now i try many build but I keep coming back at my first build

People should try KB+SF+WR which is Muay Thai. One of, if not, the MOST overpowered combination I've ever used.

In def jam ffny the takeover you can't force grapple your opponent when their down you need to wait for them to kneel or get up and time you grapple so the opponent can't escape lol i use crows combination by the way but i need a new method

My fav combinations:
SF+KB+SM -well rounded, easy to use, but strong AF
SB+WR+KB - absolutely a killer if you like grappling. If you can handle this combination, you can KO your opponent very fast. Sometimes I like it more than my number 1.
SB+WR+SF - an alternative grappler, but i think it's easier to use because of the haymaker which can take you out from a bad situation if you use it properly
MA+KB+SM (or MA+SM+KB, those two is little bit different, but both are amazing) - I call this the real MMA pack. Fast as fuck, though as fuck, and in my opinion has the best combos, grapples and submissions. Strong and very-very lovely to see and use this fighting combo. My number 1.
Thx for the SB,WR&KB combo. It's sweet for a grappler player like me. Btw how to do different grabs? I just get the same ones all the time and it seems very repetetive.
I did kickboxing, martial arts, then wrestling on hard difficulty. 50% story completion and I had to make a new character smh 😂

I think I have got this one quite accidentally. Seeing as I usually start SF i really like to take KB en WR. In my opinion this remains probably the strongest combination. If you have the same styles you will be able to do the same for the most part, but i'm glad they add these special ones in there.

Yeah usually when you put the same styles in different orders you usually get a similar mix
But for Muay Thai kick boxing you gotta put that in that order to unlock the style
It’s the only style that you have the clinch for a light grapple and heavy grapple with popular wrestling moves for the triangle moves
For example to get drunken master
You need MA + SF + WR in this order to get the style and stance
Which style is better KB + SF + WR or SF + KB + MA 🤔

The best Style is SF+SF+SF very Broken Punches but normal kick my record K.O is 8seconds using this style.
SF+KB+SM= MMA fighter. Stand ups, kicking, and ground and pound. I played the game at some point in hard mode and got enough points to max out all stats!
Also, KB+SM is a good combo. Do a clinch, then switch to a arm or some other body part hold.

It's not my cup of tea. Of course it can be good. Nearly everything is good in this game. But do you know what's even better than fighting styles? Just the fun you have when playing. This is something i really miss in newer games.

3:36 wrong. You have 2 wrestling moves that actually do lead to a ko. Submissions (just like wrestling) as the ability to manually turn your opponent around.

I use the same three fighting styles but in a different order. MA+KB+SF. Another combo that shocked me was KB+SF+WR. I beat the entire story mode and bonus fights without losing a single match on hard difficulty with that combo. All in a single school night lol Just hard grapple for the win!

Probably WR and KB. I'm not 100% sure what order lets you keep the haymaker but I'm sure it's possible.
@@SheDidntComeBack I tried kick boxing didn’t work, it replaced the haymaker with something else smh, I probably just make him straight street fighter then just make another character with combined styles, I was up last night trying to figure it out

Kickboxing for clinches, wrestling for slams, and submissions for wind and blood chokes. Oh, and don't forget the arm bars.
I'm the only defaut here, street + street + street will always be the best style, besides being offensive it has a considerably magnificent attack,

@@SheDidntComeBack Yes, the best is not to worry if the blows are beautiful, but the percentage of damage and speed, martial arts are good for defense, but it has a terrible data..

@@SheDidntComeBack started off with martial arts and now got kickboxing. I love the moves but some things get taken away :( can't wall bounce anymore ! Fuck lol. But it's ok got other new grabs. Idk if I shud get wrestling to because I love these two. kB and ma. Rather just get the points stacked for stats like toughness and health lol. Playing it on emulator since I never got to try it on PS2 and GameCube
@@5part4 I think that the best way to play may often be to just save it at certain points and to try different styles. It's probably the most unique thing about the game.
If you start mixing one style with another than certain things will change here and there, just to give you the moves of the new skill as well. Glad to hear you started playing again!

Icon looks crap and yeah save file with emulator is good you can check and experiment but yeah I think kB and ma is wat I will stick to lol. I made my character look like blade so wrestling wouldnt look cool. But definitely this games amazing how it's it's made. They need to remaster it on ps5!
Im still trying the MA+MA+KB= CAPOERA... Its very fast,powerfull punch and kick.. and it has own style when you can back flip or front flip WHILE kicking XD

You have everything in mind, the best attack style will always be street + street + street
With devastating fist power, not even the character with the most HP in Def can stand in less than 1 minute
To me, MA + SF + KB is one of the best (used it for my 1st fighter).

Wrestling, especially as a starting style, isn't very strong in itself. Yes, there are strong grapples and those will do a lot of damage. However the early game has a lot of Martial Artists who can stop you from ever touching them. In my opinion, Wrestling is a great add-on as second or third style, in order to improve grappling.
I have Played def jam Every year since 2006. The Best combination is MA + SM + SF. Its anoying at beginning, but for Sure the strongest combination. Greetings from germany

There are more than enough options to choose from. I love how the game doesn't even point you towards them, but just gives you the freedom to do whatever you want.
