      Have you tried Lumo and Hull Trains. And to see how good they really are. I have been on both of them and they are very nice.

    I haven’t ridden with LNER since before the azumas were introduced so I’m yet to experience them. However I have ridden the intercity 125s and 225s and find they both offer great levels of comfort.
    Good to see you back Daniel

    South of Grantham, there's a sign to mark where the Mallard reached its record breaking speed of 126mph in July 1938. It's ironic that 85 years later, trains aren't allowed to go that fast in Britain, other than on the line to the Channel Tunnel.

    Good to see you back. The first time I have seen a review of a lounge on arrival . LNER first class lounges may be limited on stations away from London but they exist. I have used the lounge at Darlington. To the best of my knowledge GWR providers Lounges only at at Paddington, Cardiff, Truro and Penzance, which means that stations as important as Reading, Exeter, Swansea, and Plymouth have nothing. Credit to LNER.

    I travel 3 times a week between Leeds and Peterborough for work and 1st class on the 225 sets really are worth the ticket price. Seats are really comfortable with the leather that just adds that special extra to travelling 1st class. Luckily there are still some 225 sets on the Leeds to Kings Cross and sometimes I get lucky.
    On the other hand the Azuma 1st class product in my eyes is a downgrade.

  • @kevinellis8869

    Totally agree, the 91/Mk4 sets are far superior to the Azumas.

    Thank you for your video; it really helped ease my anxiety. Could you please tell me how long it typically takes to walk from platform 8 to platform 3? I only have 7 minutes, and I'm unsure if that's enough time

  • @AndrewG1989
    @AndrewG1989 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I hope that LNER will still keep the "Intercity 225" Class 91 Mk4s. Or are they to be phased out since the Class 800 and Class 801 Azumas are in service and the Class 800 Azuma has replaced the "Intercity 125" Class 43 Mk3s.

    • @georgedowns4034

      They better keep them as I personally think they're even better than the Azumas...

      Yeah the Class 91s are still the best rolling stock on the East Coast Main Line. I hope that LNER doesn’t get rid of them.

    Hello there, the Metro Cammell Mark 4 carriages were internally refurbished in 2015. Virgin Trains East Coast or VTEC did not exist in 2012 - that was East Coast.
    Best wishes and take care. Kind regards, Peter Skuce. St Albans. Hertfordshire.
