Thanks. This is a great invention. It will be interesting to see the contrasting uses between rapidly developing battery based energy sources and hydrogen sources. My take is that hydrogen power for motive purposes will be a small market. Hydrogen transportation is a real problem. Producing hydrogen onsite for cooking purposes could be satisfying to those who like the flame.

Well said. Thank you for the thoughtful comment! You're absolutely right. Hydrogen and battery based energy are on two interesting paths. Hydrogen does face challenges, especially in transportation and storage, but its potential for specific applications like industrial uses, cooking, and even energy storage in remote areas is exciting. The idea of producing hydrogen onsite for flame-based cooking is a great point. But, it seems many people still prefer cooking with gas over electric stoves. It’ll be fascinating to see how these two energy sources coexist and complement each other in the future. Thanks for sharing your perspective and I appreciate your comment.

Can these panels generate electricitiy untill my battery is full and then start generating hydrogen?

Great question. As of now, I believe Solhyd’s hydrogen panels are primarily focused on hydrogen production. We should get more clarity on their capabilities as they approach commercialization.

The problem I seeis that :
      - when close to equator you don't need long time storage so a normal battery will be good enough.
      - when further away from the equator during the winter you will want to use the electricity of these panels directly for your normal load and with some battery assistance hope to make it throught these night and gray winterdays.
I am afraid that there is no location/ situation where you choose this panel over a normal panel of even a PV-T panel other then where there is a specific need for hydrogen like some industries or the few people driving a hydrogen car.
If you want to store energy long term in the form of hydrogen, just use an electrolyser.
