Berta, I’m happy to say a local agency found me a hard-working, compassionate, & very caring caregiver who has a great sense of humor & loves to cook. I’m going to have her get these ingredients & make these burgers. Of course I’ll also have her make your mushroom gravy that I’ve been craving & wanting to try to pour over the rice w/some kind of veggie side. I don’t think I can wait til Thanksgiving to try this meal. Absolutely love pinto beans. Oh yum, yum, yum. Your daughter is brilliant-I can see how garbanzo beans would work well in this recipe too. This looks so tasty! I'm definitely going to make these. I often add a flax "egg" to other veggie burger recipes to help them hold together - also makes for a slightly crunchy "crust" on the burger, which I like. Never thought of mixing the flax with a flavorful liquid though, I've always just used plain water. Love that you used the mushroom cooking water for that - what a great way to get some extra mushroom flavor in there!

This is very similar to how I make mine, only I use vital wheat gluten for binding. And I love pinto beans!
I love pintos too. Definitely one of the most under-rated beans!
