I was there during the 90”s and the Christmas, new years and many other events that you guys been to and will experience are all watered down now. Man, these Filipinos know how to celebrate in their own little way. When they decide to celebrate as a community, they do it very very well. Nothing beats the regular Filipinos in a community setting. I’ll see the land of a thousand smiles soon. Getting my passport sorted out soon.
Happy New Year fellow Americans and to the Filipino people.

I had an experience of New Year in Singapore and it's the loneliest New Year I ever had. There was a fireworks display but only in one place. While here in Philippines the whole country is exploding with fireworks. Everyone wants a piece of it. And unlike in other countries it's not just the 10 to 20 minutes show. Here it's up until morning. And the highlight are the special foods in Media Noche! You should be in a Filipino family home to experience that.

I definitely miss spending new year in PH with this video. Brings back allot of memories. It's not the safest or fanciest kind of new year you can get but it is worth it for all the life and fun. You can feel the celebration in every corner. Makes the fireworks here in AU feel like so orchestrated and boring and short. Thanks for sharing this kind of videos specially for a Filipino like me living overseas. If you're born in PH in the 90s, these fireworks is nothing compared to how we do it in the 90's. This is limited now since government became more strict on who can buy and do fireworks.

As you mentioned, it felt like a War Zone. I'd like to share a funny experience when the plane I was on was landing on New Year's Eve . I had visited my sister in Anaheim, Orange County, California, before Christmas, and my return flight to the Philippines was scheduled for December 30, 1990, departing from LAX at 8 am. Anticipating an arrival at NAIA around 12 am on December 31, 1990, after a 16-hour flight with PAL, the pilot, Captain, made an announcement as we approached for landing. He humorously remarked, "This is your Captain speaking. We are not landing in Kuwait City; we are landing in Manila." 😂😂😂 This jest was in reference to the ongoing war, a battle riddled environment in Kuwait when the United States was liberating Kuwait from Saddam Hussein.

Until some years ago when buying fireworks wasn't prohibited, every house in my neighborhood would lit fireworks and firecrackers it's crazy. We would spend so much money to celebrate the new year and it's crazy fun and loud to the point you can't even hear what the person next to you is shouting. IT'S ONLY IN THE PHILIPPINES that you can see crowded streets full of music, lights, joy and laughter from the energetic and friendly people anywhere partying outside of their houses, as if having a "STREET PARTY", as that has been the tradition of how the Filipinos celebrate Christmas and New Year, the noisiest and HAPPIEST way possible, considering it as one of the most festive occasion of the year, aside from the " SINULOG!"...Other countries may be celebrating New Year Year, with most fireworks too, but only that!... I can't believe there's still a street party like this during NYE in my country. If you live in a subdivision like we do now, every holiday is super boring. But I am still lucky and grateful that I got to experience the 90's Holidays in Manila back in the 90's. Back then where we lived, it was always super loud, eeryone was is a merry and festive spirit. Fireworks start in the morning on Dec 31st and when the clock strikes 11:30 the fireworks and loud noises from other things are getting louder until the clock strikes midnight. The fireworks last for a very long time, until the wee of the night. Our neighbors, the Dasig family - one of their family members was Bodjie Dasig - a popular songwriter here in the PH, they light up the best and scariest fireworks all night long. You can hear the loud booms of all the fireworks in front of their house all night long! Then on the morning of Jan 1 when you walked along our street, it was littered with papers and the air still smelled of "pulbura". God I missed those times!

Thank you thank you TRIFATE. For showing How EPIC that is, sooooooo beautiful, you’re right “ New Years in the PHIL. Is the BEST in the World, I miss my country, here in USA is not like that, it’s nothing compare to the Phil, it’s more FUN in the Philippines, when I was in the Philippines, I had so much fun,but in Northern CA. It’s so quiet, people here are not excited to welcome the New year. Happy New Year to you both, Much blessing and Grace from above, good health, good life, safe, happy, joy, peace, abundance, prosperity and protection, stay safe, and take care, God bless you both. May this 2024 be a year of abundance, and the best of everything you put your mind to it. Good luck for everything this year.🙏🙏🙏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏❤️🇺🇸🥰
