@@sharpenednoodles Lets be real, everything should feature Daddy Big Bucks in some point or another. The fact that he didnt make his way into the modern games is both a mistey and a crime against nature.
Legends say he escaped the video game world and forsaken it for the real world. Some say he lives amongst us to this very day.
This reminds me of another Sims GBA game. I think it was the Sim 2 port for GBA which you are secretly filming this weird town for a reality tv show, and I remember the game could be arbitrarily hard, but had some fun mini games and was not bad looking graphically for the GBA (I might be misremembering, I had this game like 16 years ago.
That was Strangers in Strangetown. You're an actor working for Daddy Bigbucks. The writing in all the GBAs were what really sold it, that and the music in dusty hoggs bike shop in Urbz, so catchy.
@@billpost4205 I remember that they packaged it as Sims 2, but maybe my memory is shot, but thank you for getting the name for me, that game was really fun.
Ah childhood. There was so much wackyness in that game that was only ever half explained, then usually never went back to.
@@Radnugget You're right, it was just called Sims 2 and that was the story of the Gameboy version. The DS version was also in Strangetown but you ran a hotel instead.
Man I remember my sister playing this game and teaching me where all the cool stuff was on this. The nostalgia is absolutely real.
Bustin' Out was a class game, as was Sims 2 on the DS (even more eccentric than Bustin' Out, with it's cow-cult and alien autopsy scenes), I remember playing both of these as a 20-something, then my much younger cousin playing too, and then my dad nabbing the console off me to play it himself and enjoying it just as much as us: it's a sign of a good game to have 3 different generations enjoy something like that.
I loved this game sooooo much as a kid, it's so good. I played this in German and the names and dialogue were very fun and witty too. And the soundtrack was great as well!
Oh man I had completely forgotten about this game. I remember having so much fun playing and beating this game as a kid. Thanks for the nostalgia trip!
Did you ever play Urbz on DS? It was just like this. I never knew the GBA version of Bustin Out was like this format. Honestly this video made me curious to go try it.
@@Eventide215 Go for it. It's kind of a precursor to The Urbz, be prepared to grind for cash and to spend a ton of time with it.
@@edwingonzalez7691 "Grind for cash and to spend a ton of time with it" ..it's a video game.. that's literally the entire point. To spend time with it and enjoy it.
loved this video even if i never played bustin out!!! your editing and comedic timing is always spot on, as well as the music and editing !! great work :3
My favourite sims game of all time! Please cover The Urbz on gba too!
This was actually my introduction to the Sims, and I STILL replay it to this day. I really enjoyed the storylines of the GBA ports.
I love how all of the Sims games always manage to be so wonderfully ridiculous in their own unique way.
I completely forgot about this game! Thanks for the nostalgia, so many memories throughout what you shared.
this is still one of my favorite games to day
Your speech mannerisms are just calming and chill. Welcome to my background noise list ^_^
(I had an N-Gage and loved it)
YES! THIS GAME IS A MASTERPIECE!!! What a wild trip. Urbz on the DS (its sequel) and Sims 2 PSP were also chef's kiss. These portable Sims games were so creative and bizarre, I cherish them.
Man I absolutely love this game. It was actually my first introduction to the Sims. Like you I had to make do with these weird ports as a kid, but I'm so glad I did. I really wish we could get a new game in the series of this style. Griptonite Games were truly gifted devs.
Fun Fact: This game has a sequel..! It's called The Urbz: Sims in the City! It has ports on both the original GBA and a DS version with bonus content when you have both the original game and it's DS sequel inserted!
Yeah amphibian already did a video on it
@@watan_5913
The one AA did is completely different from the version of the Urbz handheld game.
Man I love the sims urbz. I played the ds version a lot and in uni i found out that the console version was comppetely different when i was talking to my friend.
Gotta say, this was certainly an interesting video to watch, as someone who played the PS2 version of the game, it's a completely different concept and story in it's entirety, so learning about it was certainly fun.
Keep up the good work and enjoy your trip to your family, hope you and they are all doing well.
"Who remembers N-gage?"
Well, who remembers Sims 3 medieval for ancient java brick phones?
You had to be desperate to play those java phone games. Little more than a step up from playing a tiger handheld.
Man, I LOVED that game as a teenager! Great graphics, fantastic soundtrack, and wacky gameplay. Truly an underrated gem on the GBA! Thanks for the memories.
How many ways do you want to display your sims games?
AA: YES
EA was a port monster in the early 2000s.
Oh man, Sims games on GBA were amazing way back in the day. The programming behind them still fascinates me. Urbz was, and probably is one of my favourite games ever. Loved the video.
OMG we used to play this game with my bro FOR HOURS on my N-Gage. Ah... good times... ♥
You actually had one?! Can i have your autograph?
@@JohnSagin-SimViDeLucis579 I actually STILL have it somewhere! I know that many people hated that thing but truth to be told - I really liked it ^_^ This... strange piece of phone has special place in my heart.
Good video man. Enjoyed this game as a kid, enjoyed your retrospective. Good production value too.
I had Urbz: Sims in the City on DS and it seems the that game and this share all the same assets. Same characters, same music, same mechanics too.
Crazy to see there was another Urbz that I had no idea about.
Damn I was so hyped for this game on GBA when it came out and it didn't disappoint. This and even more Urbz on the GBA re two of my all-time favourite video games. I play URBZ now and then and it still hold up
I loved this game so much! Thanks for this walk through memory lane!
Thank you for bustin out this video. Sims Urbz and Bustin' Out were definitely some of my favourite games growing up!
Your content is absolutely amazing. The way you form sentances and phrases is absolutely hypnotizing :)
This game is forever linked to high school memories for me. My friend and I would sit on the bus playing this every day back and forth from school. Sharing hidden shops and items, good times. Even if it's not the best, I still go back to run through it from time to time. Awesome to discover two great videos talking about it.
Always love your work. You have a bizzarre talent of evoking a strange warm feeling in your viewers. A charm that comes from a quaint style of wackiness. The name 'ambiguous amphibian' captures this very well.
Keep being awesome.
this and the urbz were my entire childhood, you're hitting us in the nostalgia today and i appreciate it
That opening really put a smile on my face. You're a national treasure Amphibian.
As always, the commentary brings a smiles to my day - Thanks again :D !!!!
I was literally thinking about if someone made a revisit to those gba games, I was recently playing Urbz but Bustin' Out is good too
I appreciate all the Urbz music in this video !
love ur videos
Man I remember this game so fondly. I was so sad when i finished it but I spent so many weeks playing it that it will never not be good.
Love this dive into obscure Sims games. 😅🙏 If anyone enjoys these, I have to recommend the absolute weirdness that was The Sims 2 on PSP also.
Great video, can't wait to see you talk about Urbz on the GBA next! Hope you had a great holiday weekend
0:01 Specially the limits of greediness
This video magically appeared on the front page for me and I instantly subscribed. I remember absolutely adoring both this game and the sequel. I really hope you end up doing The Urbz at some point. The DS version was my preference but either version would be sick!
I actually loved this game. I wish EA would do more story-based Sims' games again... but they're probably too busy making boatloads on Sims 4 expansions.
Chet R. Chase? Daddy Bigbucks? I’m convinced that the people who make names for characters in Sims games and characters in Ace Attorney games are the same person.
he's bustin out bustin out
That fart sound effect over Tha Scarlet Letter is entirely appropriate.
I like this game. I also like the GBA version of The Urbz. There are lots of stuffs in this game. Surprisingly, those games aren't bad. I had fun playing them
thank u for showing me this i would have never known this existed and that i WANT IT !! i’ve been replaying my childhood favorite sims castaways for the ps2 and have now realized i’m just obsessed with these one-off stories that were never ported to pc
I live under an extremely French rock for the last 60 years in Tennessee, and even I know of the Sims
It’s so wild that you uploaded this right now- I just picked this up and have been playing it for the first time. There is something weirdly addictive about the gameplay of this and the Urbz variant XD also, i swear to god the Urbz is a continuation of Bustin’ Out
EA GAMES CHARGED EVERYTHING
My sister and I played this for HUNDREDS of hours as kids. Nobody else I knew our age even knew about it. Love to see you do a video on this!!
You have no idea how glad I am you covered these gems. This and Urbz were my go to Gameboy back in the day.
i was absolutely in love with sims urbz on the gba and still play it to this day, over and over, but didn't give bustin out much of a chance for some reason, i totally will now. thank you :D
I’ll never know how you’ll hit the nail on the head with nostalgic games I never even knew I played.
Man remember this game I played it when I was little so this video has brought back some good memories, so thank you Ambiguous for bringing up some lost cherished memories.
I love it when a seemingly simple game just whacks you with an incomprehensible twist out of nowhere. A lot of indie games in the early 2010's liked to do that, and it was honestly my favorite.
I played this and Urbz for many many hours of my childhood! You just inspired me to dig out my old copy, maybe now in my older, more wizened age I can actually do well at the drink sliding job. I was always awful at that job.
🙌🏾 I am so hyped to have found this video/channel. I lost ALL my GBA ROMs in college(2016) right before Nintendo smote coolroms and the others out of existence.
GBA Sims was a goat'd experience to me as a kid. Super cool to see a deep dive on it.
It’s really cool watching your videos on the Sims GBA games while I’m replaying the Sims 2 on my DS. I didn’t know all these characters had this lore and were in others games!
You know it's fantastic editing when the cuts and zooms alone are enough to draw laughter.
Videos on this channel make me nostalgic for games I've never played in my life. I love it.
man, you're playin all the classic bangers lately, ty for the vid
This and The Urbz are some of my favorite GBA games.
I thought this game was a fever dream from my childhood
this was a super nostalgia blast, and who else remembers the weird ds games too? The sims 2, my sims, or even simcity creator? good shit as always suspicousfwog
