I think you also go to madrassa. They are being barred from entering the class for not wearing the uniform. No one is cutting their wings, they are cutting their own wings. She didn't contradict herself. She gave the answer and there are some rules that you have to follow. You can't voice out your opinions where you have to pick sides or when you aren't aware enough about the certain issue as she wasn't in India. When you've just become MU or MW there's a lot of responsibility and courageous doesn't mean hurting billions of population. As she said it isn't all about beauty just like that it isn't all about courage but intelligence and intellect as well.

I am a muslim guy and from my point of view i support that in school only school uniform is allowed and not hijab right,so every muslim girl should wear her respective uniform in school and after the school is over she can continue her religion rites...if all follow this there would be no arguements no politics....

I studied in rk mission sarada mondir,a hindu school as per many person but we weren’t allowed to wear anything ( even earrings, dore tabij angti, any religious tilok or anything) except uniform.
And we had many muslim girls as classfriend and they follow the same rule.
We weren’t divided on the basis of religion at that time. Education should be devoid of religious matter as per my knowledge.
But in my college days my four senior roommates always ware burka,and nobody even noticed.Because there was not any "uniform " code

Her answer had nothing to do with the question. The hijab row was never about targeting girls and preventing them from wearing hijab. It was about a university dress code that does not allow any religious symbols when it comes to clothing. The court ruled in the university's favor. It is sad to see that Ms India - universe had no idea and her answer was very apt..for a pageant winner!. Because we all know how the previous Ms Indias have all done so much for women empowerment 🙄🙄. Bollywood..here comes your next entrant!

First of all there is a difference between hijab and burqa. And asking students (irrespective of gender) to wear school/ college uniform is exactly OPPOSITE of "targeting" only a specific gender.
Schools and colleges issue ID card to verify if it's you. And if they can't see your face (identity) how will they verify!!! I don't think they hve biometric attendance system unlike offices. Which is why you are not stopped to wear a burqa or hijab at workplaces. If education is your right, abiding by the institution's values and protocols is also your duty.
And as far as "cutting your wings" is concerned, stay occupied with such controversies, keep protesting to make sure the gates of the schools and colleges remain closed, don't attend classes... you will cut your wings anyways.
A burqa covers your entire face leaving your eyes uncovered, while a hijab just covers your hair. Yes I agree that a burqa could come in the way of identification of a person, but hijab does not.

Which I don't like that the journalist has been criticised to ask that question. There's nothing wrong to ask a question on present situation. That's his job to ask a question. And why not political question? Is there a context in this world which is aplotical? If the strongest woman can't speak for the matter of women then who would?! However, I appreciate what Harnaaz said, but asking that question isn't targeting a woman.
