      I also would like that one! I have a Leaf Gen 2 im wolf grey and can see somewhat little differences but not a whole lot besides the Arcteryx logo on the sleeve instead of the chest.

      @@halfred8011 hey bro, you wanna tell me more about your gen 2 wolf grey jacket??

      @@brycegauw9275 Sure, I haven't worn the Gen.1 but I owned several other Arcteryx jackets such as Beta Ar and Zeta Ar and my main conclusion is, bigger fit about half a size up. So a Medium is closer to a Medium/Large and the Sleeves are quite roomy. The material seems different than the Gen 1 that uses XCR Goretex. I'm not quite certain how that will play out over the years but the Face Fabric has also been updated. Sadly I dont have the technical and scientific knowledge but the official website states that the main body and sleeves are made from BD450 3L 40 Denier Ripstop which sounds very weak in comparison to the traditional Alpha SV Line that is something around 100 Denier Ripstop X but make no mistake. Just by the touch and sound it is definately more rugged than any AR models, maybe not so much the SV. I've also heard rumours that they make their fabrics cheaper as government agencies usualy replace their kit after each Tour of Duty, which is totaly false, atleast in the Canadian Forces, which Arcteryx Leaf are basing their R&D and fabrication of. The good sides are that it is localy made here in Canada but I do wished they gave more info on their material decisions and specs. I also wish they had kept their traditional subdued logo on the chest like the Gen 1 for a jacket this price that can look very common, but that is subject to taste. I'd finaly say that performance wise it is nothing less than what you expect from the brand and the price tag. The material feels good, no leaks so far after a dozen average/mildly intense activities. Do be careful tho, I haven't stained mine yet from gun oil spills or 25mm bushmaster grease but I do suspect that these type of oils would permenantly stain the jacket and most likely affect it's waterproof/breathability properties, perhaps even make the goretex to delaminate if the oils are burning hot. On that I'd recommend it any day of the week but beware, it can be tricky to find the proper size for you as it isn't a conventional fit. A medium might fit well properly layered for colder activities but it might be baggy as shit in summer times.
      Cheers.

      @@halfred8011 is it half size up from the zeta ar or the beta ar? I have both and the zeta fits slim, therefore already half size smaller than the beta ar which fits regular.
      Thanks for such a detailed and long reply tho, I wasn't expecting this!

      @@brycegauw9275 You're welcome mate. Well you see, a medium Zeta Ar would equal a small in the Leaf Gen 2. That's how oversized it is not in lenght but in volume. The waist is similar to traditional size but the purpose in mind is built around having a Plate Carrier setup underneath the Shell. So the arms portion is bigger, much bigger and the chest is about half a time bigger ( in my opinion )

    He's good. :) But I disagree with why Arc'teryx doesn't list temp ratings. Other manufacturers do (e.g. Canada Goose), , Makage...). As valid as his expaination was in a way. Arc'T could still have said "rted down to -20c " any way even as as general guidline e.g. not carrying a 60-lb backpack. The company could simply say in small print..."...assuming one is not carrying heavy backpack"....this sounds like company "talk" to sell product...there's good reason why companies purpsoely leve out info...

    this LEAF Alpha Jacket is less durable with his 40d Nylon than a Alpha SV with 100d and the SV is also cheaper, Can you sir tell me the key selling point of the Leaf Alpha over the Alpha SV?

    • @brycegauw9275
      @brycegauw9275 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      What are you using it for bro? Alpha SV is made for climbing and mountaineering, it's more durable but heavier and stiffer by a lot.

    UFpro is light years ahead of anything arc'teryx has to offer.

    • @SkywhiteChannel
      @SkywhiteChannel 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      ??? How do you figure? UFpro uses gortex on some of their products too. Plus most of their stuff is camo. I’m not a wanna be tactical blackrock fool. It’s an apple and orange comparison.

    • @CyprusTM
      @CyprusTM 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      all camo? you can pick an chose your color on most of their apparel ufpro.com/uf_pro_products/jackets/ . This is a LEAF review, meaning it's meant for "tatical blackrock fools".

    • @PlanetEclipse1212
      @PlanetEclipse1212 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Would have to respectfully disagree with you. If it was not for Arc'teryx, UFPro would not exist. Never mind being trusted with a GORE license. I had a look at the Monsoon XT, and you could not seriously compare that jacket to an Alpha Gen.2. The fact that it's only about 100 less than an Alpha is also a bad value argument when you consider the top shelf warranty and customer service from Archy.
