    Enjoyed your review, pretty precise. I've been using Vcore 98 305 red since two years ago, and agree on crisp, absolutely on spin and depth on shots from the baseline. Not much pop on serve. Slice backhand with it really cuts the ball and bounces very low bounce for your opponents. Spin and control is for me the main feature of this stick.

    A few weeks ago I got EZONE 98 and I am still getting used to it, but I tell you what, the depth thing is real. The ball will fly. More technical stuff will require a good touch to handle the ball on the net. A possible downside for me could be that I have not gotten that much seamless spin, but on the other hand, it is possibly me, because I struggle with that and it can be corrected with a designated string for better spin. Would recommend this racked for a more attacking and aggressive play style from my limited experience.

    • @FootDoctorZach

      Yep I agree 100% - I really had to keep saying “forearm” when I hit to remind my brain to whip through the ball or it was sailing

    Nice review. I'm a 4.5 hardcore Vcore player. I tried the VCore Pro and EZone but the Galaxy Black Vcore is my go-to weapon of choice. The eZone is good for a high 3.5-4.0 players with plenty of power, control, and spin. But if you talk about control and touch, the VCore outplays any rackets out there.

      I agree the vcore has much more of a fine tuned feel

    I recently bought a used Ezone 98 on eBay for $50 and I absolutely love it. I was coming from a Pure Drive and I wanted slightly more control. I’d love to try the Vcore because honestly I’d like to try something heavier. I’m really impressed with my only Yonex experience so far.

    Interesting evaluation because I felt that EZONE seems more control oriented than VCore, I'm saiyng that because I swicth from vcore98 to ezone98 exactly the same racquets tested by you. My main concern with Vcore is due to trampoline effect which was bouder me a lot. Nevertheless you're bringing up a lot of information about this lovely sport the Tennis.
    Great job! Say Hello to Brazil you have followers down there!

    • @FootDoctorZach

      I think some people find more control with EZONE due to it being lighter and just not as much mass coming through the ball - but yeah the trampoline effect is real with this frame- I’m looking forward to seeing what the EZONE tour is like compared to it- thanks for the kind words!

    Amazing comparison video!!! Excellent work... I recently played with the VCore 98. great serve values but what i actually describe it in few words, is that I needed to adjust my game to the racket's playstyle. I think EZone 98 will provide me with an excellent balanced playability that will suit my game style which have flat groundstrokes and I also like to generate spin when needed. Also, I found that with Vcore, when trying playing flat strokes, the ball ended up flying somehow, and needed to always trying to hit the ball with spin to play consistent.

    • @FootDoctorZach
      @FootDoctorZach  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I noticed that big time with both vcore and ezone that I needed to really put on the topspin if I wanted to keep the ball in the court - they are great frames in their own right but definitely like you said, some adjustments needed to maximize them

    Great video. I like the EZONE and I started to enjoy it once increased my racket head speed a bit and add a lot more spin to my forehands. Agree with it not being the best at absorbing power though, felt a little bit too light for me all in all. Really want to try the EZONE Tour though.
    Would love to see you try the VCORE Pro 97HD, this felt amazing to me, the 18 x 20 string pattern with it really gives you a lot of control and it feels so accurate.

    I've actually decided to switch from Blade V7 98 16x19 to the Yonex Ezone 98 Tour (heavier version of the one you demo'ed). I couldn't put it down after testing it a few times. Having just turned 44 this past week, I will need the extra free power that the Ezone has that the Blade couldn't provide me. I still love the feel of the Blade, but it's a very control oriented racquet.

    Awesome review, this is how racquet reviews should be! I personally never tried the EZ98 but i have tried the VC98 a few weeks and found it to lack plowthrough, felt brassy and underpowered even with lead at 12 and in the handle. Maybe I should try lead at the throat too, like you suggest to see how it goes.

  • @reb349
    @reb349 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I haven't tried the Vcore 98, but I have tried the Ezone 98, the 98 Tour and the Vcore 95.
    The Vcore 95 was interesting. Definitely didn't play like other 95 sq in headsize rackets. And I actually almost switched to that, but I'm just not consistent enough at making contact to play with a midsize racket. It was a nice platform frame though, played nice enough stock but I felt like it could use a bit of lead in the hoop to make it more stable at net.
    I ended up settling with the 98 cause the 98 Tour's heft seems to be more distributed along the hoop as it's a bit more head heavy than the regular 98 and customizing it to the balance I liked ended up making it a tad too heavy for my liking.
    I ended up customizing the 98 instead to bump it up to 341g strung by changing to a leather grip and counterbalancing by adding 6g lead at 10 and 2. Still nice and headlight enough to my liking while not being overly demanding to swing as it's at 326 strung swingweight. The Ezone 98 has fairly good twistweight so adding weight to 9 and 3 doesn't really do much for it from what I've tested so 10 and 2 or directly at 12 are really the optimal spots for adding weight in the hoop when customising the Ezone.

    • @FootDoctorZach
      @FootDoctorZach  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s an interesting customization - also interesting that the heavier tour wasn’t balanced like the 98 - I’m excited to try it

    • @reb349
      @reb349 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@FootDoctorZach the stock 98 tour was 1 point HL strung (I used Yonex Poly Tour Pro 17g). I prefer around 5-6 pts HL which was easier to achieve at a manageable swingweight with the regular 98, as it's already pretty close to that in stock form.

    Your analogy of guitars does not really help, the Vcore is more versatile, it allows you to play more defensively absorbing heavy shots but also allows you to attack. The Vcore can be improved considerably if you use a hybrid setup which provides more feedback and a bit of weight at 12 O'clock.

      @@FootDoctorZach would you say that this Galaxy Black wouldn’t be too good of a match to a player who loves to attack the ball with confidence that’s not sailing long, mostly flat hitter, loves to drive volley and return heavy on good serves? I’m thinking of getting the 285gr version extended to 27.25 with unstrung weight at 295gr and 9HL also unstrung .. trying to mirror some of the new specs of the new version, with the increased HL and the extended length as I play double handed both wings..
