This is when random parts were being added to the prop and it began drifting away from the look it had in ANH. When ROTJ came around the E-11 looked very different but this was because the props were based on Japanese replicas of the Canadian licensed Sterling SMG. If you think about it, the DC-15S blaster carbine is the in-universe/timeline predecessor to the E-11 blaster rifle. It was used heavily by the Republic clone military and saw some use in the early years of the galactic Empire.
Just a fun fact the E-11 stock could be used as a Vertical forward grip as well. So with a collapsible stock attached you would have better control. On the real weapon it was a feature we seldom used, I did use it if in a vehicle cab for added ease of stability when fired. I do plan on having a few added feature's on the E-11 3D model I am going to build. I have idea's to have it all interchangeable from the standard E-11.
"Glow rods" Star Wars finally went tacti-cool, it seems. Behind-the-scenes I think the props for the E-11's in Rogue One had a small piece of MIL-STD-1913 rail on the right side, then the light mounted to that. Certainly caught me by surprise when I saw it.
I noticed that too. I remember reading the folding stock under the barrel could be partially deployed and used as a fore grip. Maybe the adjustable stock attached to the butt wasn't always issued (a lot of the E-11's don't have it), but the folding stock was standard, so when they did actually get an adjustable stock, they just kept the standard folding stock on to use as a fore grip?.. an unnecessarily heavy-yet-sparse fore grip.. Or maybe Star Wars gun designers know very little about real, practical gun designs and go for rule of cool while also trying to stay visually reminiscent of the original E-11 that was just a Stirling SMG with some "sci-fi" bits thrown on? hah
@@HNTRKLLR Aaron Kuhman I had also heard it was used a fore grip especially on Phasma's gun, but i see in this video it looks exactly the same. But most likely the props designers don't know much about real guns, as the mag is on the most difficult side to reload unless your left handed

The you’re looking at the wrong blaster, the E-11 is an evolution of the Separatist’s E-5. This is an even better connection, a new world power using an evolution of their fallen rival’s main weapon, similar to how the USSR used the AK which is an evolution of the German STG-44.
Technically no, the Republic never issued the E-11 to its troops, but they did use the DC-15S which is very similar to the E-11 but lacks the scope and processing unit on the side. The DC-15S was the grandfather of the E-11 and while exceptional in its size and performance for it’s time, BlasTech took the lessons they learned from the DC-15 series blasters for the basis of the E series blasters.
That E-22 variant is crazy looking. Just imagine what the recoil would feel like from a full auto over under fire arm. I wonder if the recoil from each barrel firing in sequence would somewhat cancel out recoil from the previous shot... Or if it would just make it worse lol??
Love your models, could you do the different Battle Droid variants found during the clone wars? Droids were just treated as extensions of their weapons so they made a good amount of specialized droids.
The E-series of blaster rifles seems like the space version of an AK or AR-15. There's just something about how pragmatic the design is with no frills or fancy coverings.
Hopefully when Scarif arrives in BF2, so will the E-11D (one modder made the gun which started the comment "If modders can do this, why not DICE?" , and F8RGE on the BF2 Reddit responded with :0 , the typical symbol used by Ben [BF2 Community Manager] when teasing new content for BF2)
Considering that the Blaster Bolts fired from E-11s barely graze shoulders and requires head or chest shots to kill. I bet it wouldn't need that much power.
@@richardched6085 Well they can pierce a Stormtrooper's armour and blast through locks so the power needed would still be pretty high. Granted they fall well short of being able to vapourize someone like the Star Trek phaser can do (now for that you really would have to drag a power station along with you) I would guess that some sort of supercapacitor might hold enough power for short bursts or a battery with many times the density of ones produced with our current technology. Perhaps in 50 - 80 years time?
@@ewaf88 that sets the bar pretty low for Stormtrooper Armor. Considering that 98% of all Stormtroopers hit by a Blaster Bolt are instantly killed (The 2% who survive being almost exclusive to Star Wars Rebels). When unarmored people actually take time to die (Leia's Shoulder "It's not bad, doesn't die", Melshi's Clavicle "Takes 2 minutes to die and has enough stamina to run behind cover", Rio "Just got nicked in the shoulder I'm fine." Becket "He's not fine....') it's all over the place depending on the plot. Sometimes Blasters are abundantly more powerful than Bullets and other times they are inferior to 22 Calibre Hunting Rifles.
@@ewaf88 why not just use the highest settings possible in combat? I can see where variable yield settings would be useful in special situations but in pure unadulterated combat the objective is to kill the enemy. Its funny how redundant any E-11 variant with a stock is when you realize that it already has a built in folding stock that’s commonly used and the “handguard”

Screen used ROTJ Stormtrooper blaster: i.postimg.cc/kXw4XWWv/ROTJ-Stormtrooper-blaster-screen-used-01.jpg
My favorite is the ANH Version. I like the cylinders, wires, and Hengstler counter. The ROTJ version just looks so poor in comparison imo.
The ROTJ prop there happens to be the exact design DICE gave the E-11 in Battlefront 1 and 2.
I love this channel.
"You get a stock! And you get a stock! And *you* get a stock! (but using them requires special training where you also learn to hit things)" - StormTrooper trainer.
Fun video. Always nice to see the variants explained.
Can you do a video about the DC blaster variants used by the Clones? And how it compares to the E-11 and F-11
If you think about it, the DC-15S blaster carbine is the in-universe/timeline predecessor to the E-11 blaster rifle. It was used heavily by the Republic clone military and saw some use in the early years of the galactic Empire.
1:30 wait, jamming? Blasters can jam? I guess they have moving parts then?
probably. But I’m pretty sure that the “magazine” can be disrupted by jammers and mud. Thus, causing the blaster to jam.
Personally I am partial to the DT-57, but the E-11 is iconic.
I'd love more videos like this. Maybe you could make a video on the weapons of the clone wars?
The E-22 is one sexy blaster
I'm back after watching The Mandalorian and the E-22 Blaster Rifle was seen being used by a few remnant Stormtroopers. Pretty cool!
"Glow rods"
Star Wars finally went tacti-cool, it seems. Behind-the-scenes I think the props for the E-11's in Rogue One had a small piece of MIL-STD-1913 rail on the right side, then the light mounted to that. Certainly caught me by surprise when I saw it.
DLT-19D rifles used by the Death Troopers also had a small bit of Picatinny rail for the top-mounted scope.
Just some very important information needed for survival. Found it fascinating though.
It would be awesome if you made a video detailing all the weapons used by the empire
I'd really like to see you do a video analysising the ships in the fleets in various Star Wars factions (CIS, Republic, Imperial .ect)
now, tell me, why are there so few blasters/customization, in Battlefront 2?
... maybe they’re saving all the good game features for battlefront 3. I hope.
Where can I download these models? They are really well done!!
Always great vids
day 568 of quarantine: i am now educated on every varient of the e11 blasster rifle
Hi Henry, i really like this type of videos. How about a video about the different walkers of the republic and the empire.
And the battle droids used an E-5.
Oh hey this is the guy who made the Y Wing fan made model. Could you consider making multiple Uglies videos on the pirate varients?
Is no one gonna talk about how the E-10/R and E-11 both have, both an adjustable stock as well as a collapsing stock...
@@relston646 fore SMGs with side mounted magazines it's much more comfortable to have them on the left side. Hold the gun on it's grip with your right hand and reload with the left. Pretty simple and you can easily hold the gun
I would love to see a break down like this of Rebel/REsistnace blasters!
blew my mind to learn that bit at the front was a stock
What I did like about the DC-15S (idk what the new canon version is) is how you can see the evolution to the E-11
The you’re looking at the wrong blaster, the E-11 is an evolution of the Separatist’s E-5. This is an even better connection, a new world power using an evolution of their fallen rival’s main weapon, similar to how the USSR used the AK which is an evolution of the German STG-44.
I would love to see more on other Star Wars blasters
2:40 They're called shoretroopers.
That’s their unofficial name. Similar to the Death Star being the nickname with the official name being the DS-1 orbital battle station.
Do a video on the A-180 and it’s variants like the A-190, A-180CFE, etc. also on the DLT series including the DLT-19, DLT-19x, etc
I actually had an e11 toy when I was a kid. It said it was a “Republic Blaster” and I just wondered if the republic ever had used e11’s.
Do the ones from Legends next or just more Star Wars guns in general
That E-22 variant is crazy looking. Just imagine what the recoil would feel like from a full auto over under fire arm. I wonder if the recoil from each barrel firing in sequence would somewhat cancel out recoil from the previous shot... Or if it would just make it worse lol??
Love your models, could you do the different Battle Droid variants found during the clone wars? Droids were just treated as extensions of their weapons so they made a good amount of specialized droids.
Id love to see a version of this for Clone blasters!
The Imperial Soldiers look friggin sick.
Man can you show most of the known blasters and their history and variations throughout star wars?
Watch this playlist th-cam.com/play/PLJ4vMwZTWJNg03f9qBx_5IZOQT1D7RpLp.html
I'd love to see a similar video about the clone DC-15 series and variants or the rebels' A180 and A280 blaster series
The E-series of blaster rifles seems like the space version of an AK or AR-15. There's just something about how pragmatic the design is with no frills or fancy coverings.
There's so many variables for the E-11, yet EA only uses it for only a quarter of one of Battlefront 2's guns.
Based upon one of my favourite SMGs
Really want to see the legends version of this list.
You missed one of the most important things - what powers these things? A portable fusion reactor? Because you'd need one to provide the power needed
Granted they fall well short of being able to vapourize someone like the Star Trek phaser can do (now for that you really would have to drag a power station along with you)
I would guess that some sort of supercapacitor might hold enough power for short bursts or a battery with many times the density of ones produced with our current technology.
@@richardched6085 Perhaps they have settings on them to save power hence the differing shot effects
@@ewaf88 why not just use the highest settings possible in combat? I can see where variable yield settings would be useful in special situations but in pure unadulterated combat the objective is to kill the enemy. I'd just set my Blaster to full and waste an entire Rebel Squad with Superheated Shrapnel.
I like the e-10 , e11d, and e22 of all the blaster
please make more of these videos
Add more. What did the clones & battle droids use?
I would love if you could do this for other blasters
Its funny how redundant any E-11 variant with a stock is when you realize that it already has a built in folding stock that’s commonly used and the “handguard”
Excellent breakdown! Those 3D renders are so much more pleasant to look at than the jumble of action sequences or pans across static images that you often see on TH-cam lore videos.
Would you consider doing a lore breakdown of the DC-17m weapon system used by Republic Commandos during the Clone Wars?
starwars.wikia.com/wiki/DC-17m_Interchangeable_Weapon_System
I imagine the e11 D is a legendary trophy to those in the rebellion
Kinda like the Luger in World War 2.
The front end of the F-11d has an integrated glow rod & a folding grip
Stormtroopers weren't hitting targets, because of plot armor AND ALSO because they were hip-firing and weren't using scopes on their blasters
Thing is with the collapsible stock all the previous and advanced versions still had it will having traditional stocks which never made sense to me.
Several other weapons immediately jump to mind for future entries: lightsabers, Star Trek phasers, Warhammer weapons...
How do E11 operators fire the thing with bare hands without getting burned by the heatsink fins?
is there ever an oppertune moment for your weapon to jam? Edit: could you take a look at the supped up blaster the rebel commandos use at scarrif? each one has rather unique modifications.
Don’t forget the E-11s, the sniper version of the E-11.
