Thanks for the reaction, Jeff! Yes, this song was first recorded by Sanullim, a band popular in Korea back in the '70s. A 50 year commemoration album is being put together with Korea's current popular artists re-recording their songs. Kim Changhoon was the guitarist of Sanullim, and the one who wrote the song. Story has it, he wanted Rolling Quartz specifically for this song. He said in an interview that the song is no longer his. It now belongs to Rolling Quartz. But yeah, to me, this song really showcases what Jayoung is capable of.
@snakewhisperer1 thank you for the request, the sponsor, and enjoying! Ah ok...now it makes way more sense why he was there hahaha. I'm just like...bro...do something. Say something. That's really cool of him to specifically want these girls to cover his work and then to essentially give up the rights for it. I imagine he still has the legal rights but in terms of recognition. Fantastic vocals for sure from her in this one...I saw almost immediately why you wanted this one!
Awesome reaction and breakdown on this fantastic tune Bro.. I see that snake whisperer already explained the songwriter being there.. amazing vocals from Jayoung on dis one..
@Popz2366 thank you my friend! I appreciate the kind words :) I'll be curious to see what you think of Re.Bold too haha. I'll have to go back and make sure I've seen yours. I think I did but don't remember now
Incredible remake by Rolling Quartz. According to Kim Changhoon, the songwriter, Rolling Quartz “made up for the regrets of the original”, “five star performance” and Arem “saved the bassline”. All young ladies’ performance is superb, but Ja young’s vocals are stellar. Her scat singing is at least as good as most professional jazz singers. This whole performance is superb.
@ZoltanSomlo it really is a fantastic performance. I didn't realize the original writer had so many regrets but I'm glad the girls could make his true dream of this song a reality!
@@JeffReacts12 he is the man sitting in the chair in the centre of the recording studio. He requested RQ to participate his rock band, Sanullim’s 50th anniversary remake project. There is a short interview with him following the final recording of the song and he was extremely pleased with the outcome. According to him, this song would be on Rolling Quartz’s 50th anniversary album.
Wow, when you say their names, the pronunciation is almost correct. Rolling Quartz's other original songs are good, and there are some covers that are also very good. I especially like 'The story of rain and You' and 'Sing your heart out'.
@RottenWater_Immune haha thanks. I've been trying to learn a little Korean so I at least know most of the hangeul and do my best with pronunciation. I wonder if they will perform those on the tour? I don't know those songs so I probably wouldn't even realize that they're covers unless they sound way different like this one did. Thanks for watching!
