I respect how critical you guys are without being nasty about it. It hurts sometimes, with the songs I enjoy, but it makes me think too and I really appreciate the honesty and especially the different perspective. I don't get this anywhere else so well done.
As everyone said Good Night is the remake from Dreamcatcher (rock-based kpop group non-band format) song. Rolling Quartz added guitar solo but removed the intro rhythm and not many things changed. I guess that's understandable for having justice and respect to the original. Prechorus and chorus originally have 2 lines of guitars (at least) but the rhythm pushed forward. Here Rolling Quartz using kinda the same line for both guitars bcs roughly that's also what's heard from the original. The breakdown/bridge is actually like that originally.
Also they live in Korea, in the era of shorter duration exist, so understandable for the drummer not really have longer showcase. But for example Rock'n'roll Paradise on stage always be longer than the studio version bcs of drums solo. I mean on stage or concert they can do what they want but for studio version they need to "obey" certain things to fit in the industry.
Fairly new Aussie RQ fan here. 🇦🇺 I saw Rolling Quartz live recently in Sydney, and they slayed it. As with many of the emerging J-Rock female bands (and in this case K-Rock), their live performances generally outshine the MVs and studio tracks. I thought you were rather harsh on Jayoung, she's a great vocalist, and in concert a charismatic front person. Your next challenge - have you heard Band-Maid from Japan? I'm sure you'll get lots if suggestions if you do. Misa is a standout bass player.
Azalea is a cover of a song by Korean artist Maya from 2003 and is true to the original which is an iconic song in Korean music - so why change something that ain't broke ( unless you're trying to be a smart arse ? 🤷♂ )
I love Rolling Quartz but one thing to note is Good Night is not their original song, it's a cover of a Dreamcatcher title track. Definitely could have put a diff song in here. I like Good Night a lot, but putting it here means you were judging it in the context of it being a song for a krock group when its not.
Totally agree on the thing that Rolling Quartz know how to use their instruments compare to some popular k-rock In my opinion they have great potential, I think what they need is better producer? Don't know who produces their songs, their songs are good, but they can be better
A bit harsh maybe on the radio rock aspect. How would musicians get any traction fast enough to make a living off of being in a band? Risky experimental stuff is great, but when just starting out I don't think it'll get you anywhere. Especially in an environment that is extremely poppy, and anything sounding Anime-like or Japanese (so everything metal and rock) is already impossible to sell to mainstream audiences in Korea.
You should try a couple of their live stages I personally think their live stuff is better than they're studio recording. I have heard complaints about their studio mixing.

These girls are great! Fearless is def my fave so far... You should really check out Band Maid & The Warning sometime! Band Maid is an all female rock band from Japan. The Warning are 3 sisters rock band from Mexico I suggest these BM songs: Thrill, Dice, Manners, Bubble, Take Me Higher (live) & Turn Me On (live) I suggest these TW songs: Money, Sick, Automatic Sun, Enter Sandman (with Alessia Cara), Evolve (Live VMAs) & Dust To Dust (live Teatro) BTW - both bands released a collab this year called Show Them. Also the 2 live BM songs are on NekoAngel channel
I love to sing, my voice fits really well with ballads and our Mexican folk music. I was part of an 8-voice choir, and I filled for a friend on a Metal band for a time. My voice is shit for that last one. It lacks the huskiness and aggressiveness that I love and admire of a rock vocalist. Her voice has power and is pretty, better than 90% of most K-pop idols, but she doesn't fit this style of music. The instruments shine brighter than her voice and you just end up feeling that something is lacking in the song.

Rolling quartz are fans of Dreamcatcher! A few of them are in contact with Dreamcatcher ❤
idk if it was mentioned but good night and azalea are both covers (good night originally from dreamcatcher and azalea by maya)
She's using a wah pedal in fearless, not an auto-wah. She uses it a lot

YAYY!!!!! BEEN SO EXCITED FOR THIS ONE !!!!
The warning next 🙏🏻❤️
Based on your thoughts I would suggest Sing your heart out, Stand up, Reminiscence, and Rock and roll paradise with drum solo live video
It sounds like your issue is more with the mixing of the tracks than her voice. I feel like a more balanced mix would fix it.
Whenever i see them live, Iree usuaally uses a manual Wha-Wha pedal. Maybe its just used for fearless
Band maid too ❤️🙏🏻
