Eric Fromm had a prequel to the "Art of Loving" titled, "The Anatomy of Human Destructiveness." Together, both of these books give context to the "Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders."
Fromm's book, Escape from Freedom, has amazing insight into human nature and freedom. His perspective of the psychology of Nazi's during WWII included in that book was eye opening.
You are spot on about the notes! Fromm always packs his books with vital info no “filler fluff” or insulation in this material for certain. This book has helped me since I first read it as a socially awkward and intentionally alienated 16 yo overcome both heartache and an abusive stretch of a mess. All his books I’ve found to be extremely helpful and very conprehensive
100%! I’ll eventually read all his works. I think I read both this book and his Escape From Freedom twice. Great to hear that you read books like this one already at an age of 16!
Thank you!It is a brilliant book and as you said it is short but so so much information. It is very concise!I do recommend Sketch for a Theory of the Emotions by Sartre as well (super short book 😀).
So funny you mention Sartre. I was posting about him the other day on Instagram. Is that book a good starting point for someone like me who wants to start reading his works?
Subscribe as an act of love why don't ya?!

Thank you very much for the recommendation. I don't know when I will get to it but I will add it to my list
It’s only 100 pages. So it’s a very quick read! I feel like this is one of those books that you would appreciate, Matt!
