- Today I have the awesome opportunity to present you the full DRIVE & SOUND review of the all-new 2015 / 2016 Audi A4 Avant (B9) powered by the range topping 3.0 V6 TDI delivering 272 hp and a whopping 600 Nm of torque. This particular car comes in a special "Ara Blue crystal effect" color and features the optional S-Line exterior / interior Pack. Power is going through quattro and an awesome 8-speed auto, which in my eyes is significant step forward compared to the 7-speed S-Tronic in the predecessor and the 218 hp version. Talking about overall driving the A4 has gained on both sides, the dynamics but especially the comfort. Although this car is running 19 inch the ride-comfort was very decent, and once we had it in dynamic you could hammer it into corners like a previous RS4 or so;) As we had to keep an eye on speed limits and safety on the road we couldn't do a lot more than 100 km/h, but be ensured that we will also try to get this awesome vehicle on the German Autobahn. I love 3.0 TDI engine, best combination of engine sound, torque and raw power!! And nice full tank mileage too!

This car is so beautiful and the materials also the Engine its the Perfection in the Car World. I cant wait when im done with my education, 6 months into work and im getting one! Im already excited even tho i need to wait 1 1/2 Years :)

The torque of this thing has to be on another level, and @ stupidly low rpms too.... this, additioned with a wagon form makes it look like it's from a wild dream.

When you' ll have a chance to test this torque monster on the autobahn, it would be nice if you do Launch control 0 - 266 km/h, if its possible of course :-)

So why does this 272 get a good wandlerautomatik and the a6 with the same engine gets an S tronic?? I think that the zf goes perfect with this engine.

Sorry für die Kritik, aber wo habt ihr die 6.2 sek von 0-100 her? Ich hab mit meinem jetzt bereits mehr als 100.000 km abgespult und er schafft immernoch die Werksangabe von 5,5 sek.
Ich find es einfach schade, dass der 3.0TDI nicht die beiden endrohen an den jeweiligen Seiten hat... Ist leider nur bei den Benzinern und da gibt es keinen V6 :( (ausgenommen S4)
+iTechDisc Ja, habe mich auch gewundert, nur ist dies beim Vorgänger A4 B8 Allroad ja auch schon so, der 3 Liter TDI hat hier auch die 2 Endrohre links. Mich würde es wundern, wenn dies nicht auf Grund einer technischen Restriktion so gewählt wurde. Entweder wegen des Quattro oder auch des größeren Tanks / AdBlue Tank im Heck des V6 TDI.

How is the sound compared to the previous gen. A4 3.0 TDI? In the video you get the impression that the sound has been improved. Do they use artificial sound module by default now?
+mazhats Yes, I think they enhance the sound a bit electronically, but its very subtile and not such artificial noise. It sounds better than the predecessor.
+mazhats This V6 TDi was already a monster with an unbelievable sound. Just check out Supersprint and Milltek's channels and see by yourself.
But, Audi's engineers got bored of only 6 cylinders so they've added 2 others and decided to add an electric driven turbo to the already existing 2 exhaust gas driven turbos. It's in the SQ7. Germany, Germany....
und, wie ist der A4 so? finde die Beschleunigung nicht unbedingt gut, was mir ja persönlich überhaupt nicht gefällt am neuen, ist das der 3.0tdi nunmehr links zwei Rohre hat, nicht mehr links und rechts eines
Der neue A4 ist schon wirklich gut, klar die Erwartungen sind natürlich auch schon sehr hoch. Der 3 Liter TDI geht extrem gut, die "moderate" Zeit auf 100 km/h ist eher auf die Wandlerüberbrückung im ersten Gang zurück zu führen, der Durchzug ist schon sehr gut und auch fühlbar mehr als beim Vorgänger mit 580 Nm.

Konntest du in Erfahrung bringen, ob ein BiTDI in Planung ist? Hoffe nicht, dass der Diesel nun komplett ausstirbt.
Achso und wie ist die Bedienung des MMI's? Bei meinem A3 ist da kein Schalthebel dazwischen, auch wenn der beim A4 abgeflacht ist.
Habe mich ein bisschen mit den Ingenieuren unterhalten, momentan scheint kein BiTDI geplant....bei dem Antritt dieser 272 PS Version ist das aber auch weiter nicht schlimm...fährt sich im Alltag auf Augenhöhe mit dem 320 PS Biturbo im A7...300 kg weniger Gewicht. Bzgl. der MMI Bedienung sehe ich absolut kein Problem. Man legt die Hand / Arm auf den Schalthebel und kann so angenehm die MMI Tasten bedienen.
Der BiTDI ist ja sinnlos bei einem V6 TDI mit 218 PS

Ein super Auto finde. Habe es ja selbst :D. ich habe den A4 Avant als 2.0TDI(190PS) und muss sagen das ich ÄUßERST zufrieden bin. Das einzige warum ich den Wagen NICHT mehr so nehmen würde besteht darin das die 190PS NUR als Frontantrieb nicht ausreichend auf die Straße kommen (In Zukunft dann besser ein Quattro ab 190PS).
So, jetzt zum eigentlichen Punkt. Die Farbe des von Euch getesteten Autos? Wie heißt die Bitte???

Wie Ist der Komfort im Innenraum, Ist der jetzt geräumiger als der alte A4? Denn im alten saß man echt eingequetscht im Fond.
Das Platzangebot, vor allem aber das Raumgefühl und die Rundumsicht ist deutlich besser geworden. Das merkt man insbesondere vorne, aber auch auf der Rückbank.

What about fuel economy with this car? How much it takes pro 100 km?
+Mafke The Allroad seems to be coming pretty soon, I think it should be in the market next year. Our test drive was pretty short so we couldn't really measure the consumption, but I talked to the engineers and they at least claimed that they have further reduced consumption compared to the 245 hp predecessor. Knowing that that engine already is great on fuel economy (6-7 Liter D under everyday conditions) I think this 272 TDI should really be a fuel efficient engine.
~7 liters for that amount of power is great. Diesel is great in nowadays, but it's only missing a sound from the exhaust. Big part for some people to choose a petrol instead a diesel.

There might even be a retrofit for a sound module like on the BiTDI later on...
Would this be the "wise man" choice over the S4 Avant? Much better economy and similar acceleration. Very understated, especially with the stacks only on one side.

Honestly I can't tell you the exact price but as its a 3.0 TDI fully loaded I would suppose it's around 75k.

kikeeseesel Yes;) Well, if you go into the configurator of any premium brand from southern Germany and put all extras in...75k should not be a surprise. If you take the most relevant extras you should get the 3.0 TDI for
60-65k EUR.

Great car all round. With 190 from the 2.0 it is the only logical choice, more than enough power and good MPG. If you want this kind of power the S4 is the proper choice as it's sounds so much better than this diesel 3.0. The A4 is hard to beat, competing models are just not in same league.

Schönes kfz wäre aber echt cool wem audi ein v6 Benziner mit 300 ps raus bringen würde .Ich weiß das es den s4 gibt aber eine kleinere nicht sportvariante mit 300 ps oder mehr wäre echt cool haben ja die Konkurrenten von mercedes und BMW.

was ich nicht verstehe ist, dass man dem A4 nicht endlich mal ein Powerdiesel gönnt... 3.0TDI ist zwar nett, aber mit dem kleinen Auspuff, der nach nix klingt nicht wirklich toll. Der SQ5 hat den gleichen Motor mit 336 PS (optional 360PS)... Das wäre doch mal ne schöne Kombi, des weiteren ist der Wagen zu teuer.... Mit guter Ausstattung zwischen 75 und 80 T€... Dafür kriege ich echt was besseres!
Was denn besseres? Und hat der SQ5 nicht nur 326 und 340 PS? Oder meinst du den Overboost?
Kommt drauf an wo du ihn kaufst ;) du bekommst ihn auch mit 400. Der neue soll übrigends auch als RSQ5 mit dem 5Zyl Turbo und ca 400 PS angeboten werden. Was aber wirklich interessant wird, ist der neue RS4 mit V6 Biturbo und über//um 500 PS bei 550-600Nm... (die Zahlen wanken noch in der Fachpresse)

+Luís Teixeira It's in the BMW's DNA to produce more hp from the same displacement engines. So it's obvious the Beamer is more powerful.... But Audi's are crazy bat shit vehicles for every budget and a little tune makes them just mind blowing.... Just look at the 2.0 TDi.... It's a very affordable, cheap to run monster!

you can on another hand compare a 535d with an audi a6 3.0 biturbo with 313 hp..
Robert Bidochon exactly the latest 2.0 Audi tdi is an incredible example in refined power and fuel efficiency. 30k miles later and have not missed my 3.0 very much at all. Simply superb engines and cars. Interior of BMW just leaves me numb with disappointment of how backward they have gone in design.
And also, you can only drive BMW at summer, but when winter comes🚍🚍🚍

+John Doe 272 hp Diesel always comes with Quattro and S-Tronic by default. Only the "smaller" Diesel with 218 hp can be delivered in FWD configuration.

P.S, I personally drive a 2011 A4 Quattro TFSI 2.0, with the leather seats to it..
Some people want the big engine for the miles and reliability. However the 272 comes with quattro standard.
