With an extraordinary variety of bookable castles, manors, and stately homes available, this truly is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity - don't let it slip away! Mention "Julie" when booking for £1,000 off any stay of 5 nights or longer. Please visit storiedcollect... to find out more.
As I visit historic houses across the UK, it fascinates me how each generation adapts and reimagines the style of the architecture and interiors, according to the fashions and tastes of the day. When I was in Yorkshire, I visited the most beautiful Georgian country house - Constable Burton Hall which has been home to the Wyvill family since the sixteenth century. The hall was once an Elizabethan house, but it was remodelled in the Georgian style in 1768.
Now, D’Arcy and Imogen Wyvill have updated the interiors - to combine comfortable family life with Georgian splendour. And out on the estate, they are following their dreams, with exciting redevelopment plans for over 50 lodges from where it’s possible to explore the stunning Yorkshire Dales.

Those dogs have a stunning house! The humans are pretty awesome, too.
That's what the baen cat would say
Now just to wait till they're all asweep then I shall vanquish them all and it'll all be mine, exclusively mine I say. Now lemme just scratch this pole and yawn.... oh yes nap time.
I really wish Darcy and Imogen all of the absolute best with the future plans for this magical property!! Beautiful.
What a beautiful place! England stands alone in this kind of wonderful historic homes.
We have a fair few of them in Ireland too :)
They are plenty in France
I agree.
Absolutely gorgeous in every way! The dogs add to the cozy ambience, make it feel more like a home rather than a stately historical dwelling.
The pup, on the steps, allowed out and getting some sun, says everything about this lovely place and family! Wonderful and warm video! Thank you for sharing this amazing home and family! 🌿🌺
That little old JRT stole my heart. Husband and I lost his 18yo Rudy during COVID. The obliviousness to guests and slowly wandering in the background was so much like him the last few years. He was such a good companion to John during some rough spots in life before John and I met.
Loved this tour! It was so great to see the original paint colours and furniture and envision what it was like. I was imagining people in their Georgian outfits in those spaces.
I ❤❤❤ learning about the paint. I want to paint my home with those colors. The sleeping dog is hilarious. If I ever get a chance to stay in a historic home I would want to go on hikes on the property.
Wow, incredible place. Fantastic future plans.
D'Arcy & Imogen have put so much time, energy, effort and thought into making this magnificent piece of history into a living, breathing family home. I imagine it must be rather difficult to integrate into a family holding a historic home and help create something for the children you create together and for their future lives & families. Such tremendous love & care required. Clearly D'Arcy & Imogen are succeeding together brilliantly. What a warm, welcoming, lovely family home.
Wow, thank you!
Sublime house. Wonderful owners. What a treat to sit down and have dinner in that fabulous dining room.
That cute dog!
What an incredible place! Truly thank you so much for sharing these gorgeous English country homes with us. I would have no other way to experience them. Keep up the good work! 👏
How special to be the stewards of such a majestic estate. Absolutely wonderful tour. Loved it and so admire Imogen and D'Arcy for their hard work.
The dog lying on the stairs is so adorable! Also, I wanted to write, that You have good taste in clothes. You always look so elegant.
Wonderful tour. Thank you D'Arcy and Imogen.
Thank you Julie for the tours of these historic homes😊
They look so grand and peaceful at the same time, the history behind these houses are just incredible
I so miss Queen Anne’s lace. Having lived in Illinois for over 30 yrs, I grew to love it so much. Western Colorado at 6200 ft isn’t a place to grow it. So sad. Incredible home and family.
Julie is a luminous and intelligent host. Thanks for another interesting video tour.
Seeing this absolutely beautiful house has made my day, thankyou.
What a dream. Very privileged to live it but I’m glad they do-these great houses are architectural patrimony. Preserve them for the future !
If I had a choice of any of the houses you've visited THIS is what I would choose. This is what I imagine when I read Georgian and Regency books. What a wonderful home they've made it. Believe at 0.18 this shows a ha-ha. I've been fascinated by ha-ha's for a long time and this sight is rather like the 'other side'. Plus it's the right time period, Georgian. Wish you had mentioned it Julie, but what a lot you were able to cover in 32 minutes. Another superb video. I love the idea of the lodges.
Yes, I spotted the Ha-ha too!
What is a Ha-ha?! @@noconnell874
I also love this mansion.
just love seeing these lovely homes especially ones that dont just look like museums but actual lived in homes.
So lovely and even watching I felt invited into this gorgeous home. The grounds are spectacular. I look forward to a follow-up showing the 53 lodges. Thank you all for sharing.
That is one absolutely gorgeous house!! As is yours, my dear Viscountess. 👌❤
And the Storied Collection is very very interesting too, thank you!!
I love this place. The color. Wow. Young beautiful ❤️!
Beautiful home. I really love the color scheme, and of course the beautiful, historic furniture pieces.
I don' t like the colour scheme. Primary and density colours , very common in English estate houses , don't please me much.. I like colours but not with so much contrast. It is an English tradition, though.
@@antoniocarlosrodriguescamp1497 To each their own.
That was awesome. Love the land and the idea of the new builds. Yes retreat.
Beautiful!! Beautiful!!!!Beautiful!!!!!! No other words necessary.
Oh how wonderful the care they have put into restoring this beautiful property - such a joy to see a home that size be so livable and cozy - the colors throughout are comforting and yet regal - wow -
Lovely estate and grounds! Their plans sound marvelous!
These lovely homes make one appreciate all the hard work put into them. Just beautiful Julie ! Thank you to your host and to you Julie👏🏻
Wonderful tour of a beautiful house . I wish D'Arcy and Imogen the best of luck in the business plans for the estate .
A beautiful home! And wonderful plans for the future with lodges!
I love when he said, they are the building custodians.
Hi Julie, what a beautiful place Constable Burton Hall is. The estate, the park land, everything is just stunning. The long-standing history of Darcy's family alone is remarkable. I love the way that they also understand, it's their home and it's the children's home and not a museum, I can't wait to see the lodges. Thank you so much for bringing us there. Love from N.Y.
Loving this
I am watching this at 4.30 a.m in my country
fabulous!! love the avenue!! SO glad they are continuing to plant trees and leave the wild grasses and flowers!! hopefully they have hives!
Absolutely stunning!!!!! Thanks for sharing😊
Thank you! Cheers!
Oh my word, that dining room ❤❤❤❤
This is one of the most well done, grand feeling but homey at the same time, beautiful welcoming warm estates I’ve seen on TH-cam. Every corner was perfection. Thanks for sharing. Thoroughly enjoyed.
This was just a wonderful tour. What a beautiful home. The color palette is luscious. And what great plans they have. Thanks!
The main thing I envy about these estates is the large areas of countryside to walk through and explore every day. I’m limited to walking my suburban neighborhood, unless I get in the car and drive a while first.
It’s incomplete without some cats, too! Thanks to the hosts for showing us their beautiful home, and the cutest welcoming party ever.
This was a lovely tour!! ❤
My very favorite of the houses featured here!
GREAT video today !!!
Thank you for sharing this Beautiful Georgian home.
The rooms were all stunning, the dining room with all the original furniture amazing.
It’s awe inspiring that the same family has lived in this lovely home for so many years. They have been wonderful custodians and still carrying on the traditions.
My heart just exploded with joy at those beautiful trees and the garden. The icehouse and the history shared was so nice to hear spoken to us viewers.
Such a down to earth delightful couple. Yorkshire Downs is beautiful country.
Again thank you so much. ❤❤❤
Stunning....great business plan, beautiful area. Wishing the couple all the best. Xx
Great video…thank you so much for making us aware of these opportunities and the beautiful things England has to offer. You are really so lucky but I’m sure there is a lot if hard work behind all this.
Thank you so much!
Julie,
Thank you for sharing another beautiful historical house...love the colours in each room..cute jack russell😊❤😊❤😊❤😊❤
The inside was gorgeous. I’d like to have seen some bedrooms. Nice idea for them to have a RV park on the property. The cabins will be a big asset.
What a beautiful place, and wonderful insight for the future, of Constable Burton. Thankyou for taking us there Julie.
Loved it and would love to visit soon
That was magical! Gave me goosebumps. You are all so gracious. Thank you for sharing this treasure.
Julie the Georgia Masion is beautiful and the garden.
Amazing
Stunning home … shared this with a friend who lived in a beautiful castle in Ireland x ❤
Wonderful presentation!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Stunning❤!
Stunning!
❤ I must admit Burton Constable Hall is beautiful. I recently did a video myself here but purely with a drone as it is just as magnificent on the ground as it is in the air 😊
Very beautiful!
Loved this tour.
I love a double staircase. Keddleston, which has a lovely curving one, like two open arms, is my favorite English Country House of all.
Beautiful, however, I can't imagine being near a caravan park of over 100 plus an additional 40+ possible homes. Impact on wildlife and neighbors with additional lights, traffic, and other issues? Unfortunately, I've seen what this type of development on quality of rural life. Bravo to Mapperton approach. 👏 It's appreciated.
Lovely video.
Used to stay there quite a bit, we referred to it as Conty Burtz
what's up with the camper village at 28:54 ? wasn't expecting to see that up against the future lake and lodging plans... ? are they vacationers also?
What about that fascinating cabinet with those "statues" on top?
Bellísimo ❤😊😂😅🎉😮
You should do Layer Marney Tower in Colchester. It's very up your street

Books for the nook😊
I love English historic homes, especially Georgian/Neoclassical ones, it’s my favorite architectural period. It’s dignified, but not overly so or grandiose like Baroque, elegant, but livable. The interiors are light and graceful. I have a vast library on the architecture and decoration about beautiful English Country Houses. My preference would be something on the scale of a Georgian rectory/vicarage, rather than a mansion. But, I’m not going to be able to afford either! Classical Greek style forever!
👌🏡
Cant understand the negative comments. Jealousy? I think its all lovely.
Are they a couple? I have to say they are such a good looking and elegant couple. The house is cute.
Just enjoyed your Constable Burton visit here in Australia 🇦🇺 This is a Stately Home I’m familiar with! I’m not quite certain why but I suspect one or more of the Wyvills ancestors were of some historical significance & I’ve read about them. I shall look them up. Thanks 😊
When I see yet another preservation of England’s history (Scotland’s and Ireland’s too), the work, and the love being put into these projects. I get more and more resentful that King Charles III did not have these people in their robes and coronets at his coronation. Unlike the charities he had attending, these people are the future of the nations.
At time 9:05 and 9:13 (at his head while talkibg) there looks to be a gray and white cat up in the bookshelf/cabinet behind the glass. A few seconds later at 9:19 in the next shot it is gone. At 10:06 it's back. Is there a face above it? Ghost? Reflection? Probably a reflection.
I noticed the morning room / study (and perhaps library), there were double doors leading into the room. I seems like I heard somewhere the reason was to keep out smells. Is that true? It seems to me to be more of a good way to insulate the room and keep it warm. Does anyone know the answer to this?
Hello Julie, I am interested in becoming a patreon and is the 2024 calendar included with a 1-year membership at the Alberta Sturgus level? Thank you. I really enjoyed the Sunday live show.
Imagine the housekeeping staff needed...
New side show, “Manor House Dogs” please
I enjoyed this but, woah, so many interruptions! I prefer to be taken away by the magic of a place. So many inserts of ads and other information made this a stressful watch. Such a pity because I love this channel and the presenter has a great charisma. Please consider minimising disruptions for us!
Noted!
Love the inside, the exterior facade is a bit weird ,its trying to mimic the neoclassical style fashionable in Europe in the XVIII, France in particular ,not very successfully.
Erm, isn’t it Burton Constable Hall?!?!
26:05 Oh no… caravan park
Too much commercialization on this channel. Apologies.
How else you think this channel survives?
@@brandond8197Exactly. And they are able to produce more content because of it.
lol….its how it works these days…..sad but true…..

Is olivias house georgian? (The ghost from over a hundred years ago) olivia the ghost *ireland*)
Who is she? She speaks too well to be Billy Eilish, her hair is too dark to be Emily Blunt yet there is a resemblance to both…. family perhaps??
All is well but stop comparing everything to your small cottage Mapperton 🤮
