I love how everyone in your squad is helping you demo the marker at the HP boss. They're just over here dancing, kicking back until you put the marker on the boss then it's CHARGE! And their chat when you demoed the squad messages! I think the squad must've had a blast doing this with you. Also, as a new commander, it was very helpful. Thanks!

You guys are too nice, the few times I have tag up I use a mass charm spell from the Mesmer's forbidden tome of charms, a Whip of Suffering, and a voice amplifying spell to make sure the worms hear me laud and clear. Trust me it saves me a tone of headaches, plus a few licks of the whip will ensure they do as they are told without hesitation, I learn it from a demon in Nayos.

I happened to get into a HoT train, the Commander was the best I have been in. Oddly his name was Bubbles something. But he used the symbols, it made things so much smoother. Like wait at the X for teleport, Not everyone had skyscale, So it was really great experience. Great video, I hope that more Commanders will use these symbols. =) You are such a kind person/player. This might actually be the best gw2 video I’ve ever seen. Also you mentioned Mesmer which is also my general pick for tagging up, but sometimes I don’t for whatever reason. One thing I always do no matter what though, is run a support build. Helping those newer or slower players out with ample boons and healing well make them feel like they’re contributing way more, and overall I just feels like it fosters great morale.
I will definitively make a WvW version one day! Unfortunately, I am still not very experienced in WvW, but I will do my best to learn it in the near future ^-^
as I said before Leo, very impressed with the outcome, it's such a great video. all the important thing are done nicely! of course there are things to improve on (as you said the pixelation in some shots) but that's critique on the highest level. if you get those minute details sorted out, then I see a bright and kind future for your videos. PS: i had such a great time recording those clips with you, I would gladly help you again!
I think you are right, Ewald! There are many things I am unsatisfied with, and having only 3 days to edit it after preparing.. that was hard! So, for future videos, when there will be no deadline, and I now understanding editing and rendering much better, I think we will see some better final products
I have a funny story about commanding xD Just to nail home the point of people following a tag blindly, I was tagged in Vabbi for bounties, and I lagged extremely hard and ran in to some quicksand, my entire squad followed me in with no mount because I didn't swap mounts xD a full squad of 50 died to quicksand and it was hilarious lol Everyone was laughing about it xD
I really struggle w/ dealing with negative players and usually just end up ignoring them because they don't hinder my commanding and usually stop after the first or second message. Should I be addressing those players or not? I am concerned w/ receiving negative backlash from the squad such as "Oh, you really were offended by that, Commander?" or "It's not that serious, commander". This is why I ignore it and it usually goes away. I'm not sure how I should handle the situation. Ignoring it works, but like you said, I don't want someone to seem like I'm agreeing with what was said by letting it slide.
When I'm commanding I always speak up regardless just to let everyone know it's not cool. If the person, or anyone else, responds back with "lol can't take a joke??" I would simply remind everyone of the atmosphere of the squad and how that can be offensive or hurtful for others. If they keep fighting back, I would take it to whispers to ask them to calm down, but if they continue to get out of hand they gotta go. At that point they are just fighting and causing a ruckus to troll and be a problem because they know it bothers you.

Hey! Thank you! My favorite kind of event to run is still Hero Point Trains, since I just love these slow trains, where I help a lot of players ^-^ But I also love Dragonfall and Drizzlewood Coast, since those maps are such satisfying farm maps! OH and Verdant Brink T4 is also super cool!!
Bonuses : - GW2Radial : an add-on that can help you put markers with only 2 keybinds instead of 18 - BlishHUD's Chat Shorts : a module from the BlishHUD meta-addon that lets you send pre-made messages instantly (for stuff you say over and over) - Once you're 100% sure you're doing your commander job perfectly, you can add your own spice ! Jokes, giveaways, little games... ...and of course vocal channel whenever possible, makes everything easier and livelier
A bad comm can really sour the experience. I've seen so many commanders that just don't give any information! Not linking the WP they're teleporting to, for example...

Commanders > Endgame Metas, Please for the love of god use, squad messages for Major Directions. Stop using general chat. You get tunnel vision in a Meta and don't look in chat. 95% of commanders are great and use squad messages, then you get those few. Then those commanders yell and complain no one is following the directions.. Yea? Explain what we are about to do before the meta starts, yes, we all have done it, you a hundred times more, why you are commanding. There are new peeps that have never done it before. Noobs > what do I do!!, I'm new, I don't know what I'm doing! Still learning how to command myself but, squad messages please.
They say GW2 is a friendly community but the fact is it's not. I tagged in a meta and when I was about to leave and ask who would like to take my place to tag they all just left without a word in the chat. This happened a lot of times to me and from now on I decided not to tag anymore. Chat function is useless in this game most people will just ignore you and use you for their personal gains.
