    , at the age of 65, never camped for 40 plus years, your videos, reviews have motivated me to get out, so since June am out every week , now purchased more kit to wild camp Thanks

    Dan👍 After the stove is lit and it starts to "bloom", put the small fire cap "upside down" on top , this causes the gas vapor to pressurize and flame really comes out of the small holes properly😉 When ready to snuff the flame, simply put the fire cap on normally.

      Is there enough clearance to out the cap on upside down and then add the pan? I like the Lixada stuff but, the flame on this one is wild. Shame, 'cos I've been looking at this one for a while. Might go for Lixada's Trangia copy, with screw on lid.

    Way back in the mid 90’s this my first ever camping stove was an earlier version of this. The legs didn’t lock, and it came with a pleather pouch, but other than that it was the same. A couple of things I learned: It holds waaaay more fuel than you need for an average session. If you fill it halfway, it blooms faster. Also don’t be tempted to leave leftover fuel in it for the next day. If your fuel has a high methanol content, it can ruin the inner aluminum sleeve with prolonged exposure. Good job flipping the steak.

    Mine was from Out-D. I disassembled mine and put a carbon-felt wick inbetween the two layers. With a drip of alcohol on a plate underneath it stars blooming within a few seconds. The less alcohol you put in the faster it starts. Hint for Germans: Buy your alcohol at Edeka: 1,79 € for one liter.

    I bought this stand a few months ago and use my little Trangia burner in it. Works a charm mate.

    Great flip there 👏
    I was thinking this looked nice and compact until I realised you need the wind shield. I still reckon you can't beat the Trangia. I've brewed up in howling blizzards with that.

      @englishwoodsman  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi mate I only used the wind block for this video,, but yes the trangia is great

      Trangia in this is awesome, and yes, my foil windshield works great with it. I wrap the windshield around my fuel bottle.

    Good video Dan. Nice to see you back on alcohol stoves again, because that's what I personally prefer. I think I will get one of these on your recommendation, and I will also try the Bio Ethanol as an alternative to Mentholated spirits and see how I get on. As for the lid being loose, I don't carry fuel in my burners and always let then burn out, so they never leak, and don't smell of fuel so bad.

    Awww ain't it cute. 19 holes like a golf course. Bloody Hell! Is that enough fuel Dan? Don't run out eh...lol. Yeah you just decant the fuel into a smaller containers for many camp outs. So for what it's burnt that's a steak and vegetables possibly a brew too! Grand. £11.99 - a new addition to the kit. I reckon the lid issue could be sorted. Link? Yup, rocking - top lad.

    Hiya mate, I’m looking for a stove for fishing, something to boil a warm brew and maybe light cooking, I will be using it maybe twice a week so needs to be something that can take a bit of abuse, not looking to brake the bank either, have you got any good suggestions? I’ve never used one before so not sure weather I’d benefit from a gas stove or an alcohol stove.

  • @rogerbond7811

    Are you sure you brought out enough fuel! Good little stove - when you put a pan on it,is it just the small holes that provide the flame. Would like to see a vid of that in the dark 🤔

    • @gordonmonaghan133
      @gordonmonaghan133 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not so sure about that last point raised. It seems to me that there is a gap from the top of the burner part of the stove and the underside of the frying pan.
