It’s something not widely understood, but the battle in Mauripol in 2014 when the DPR tried to take that city was responded to by the rag-tag, ASOVs who were essentially nationalist thugs but became heroes when they beat the Russians back then. The AOV brigade has evolved into something different now but does attract negative attention because of some of their earlier activities.
That's a good lesson to Putin and allies not to try invading other countries, I wish Ukraine allies double effort in supporting Ukraine.
