Why do I see so many comments about nut shots and dirty tactics? You guys do realize this is a practical fighting technique right? I love all those other martial art forms, like karate, tae Kwon do, etc. but the fact is, those are outdated. They are more of an art now. Krav maga, judo, and jkd are realistic survival tactics.

However, in for example hostage situations, we're dealing with sort distance ranch, in which we can disarm and eliminate the attacker
You forgot to take into account the physical aspect. the ability to process an action mentally and then respond to it physically is a very slow process. Action is faster than reaction; law of physics. while I think some of these disarms are a bit flashy, getting yourself out of the line of fire is not difficult. I'm in Israel learning this from Special Forces operatives who have disarmed terrorists in past operations.

I'd much rather disable an assailant with a powerful kick or punch to a vulnerable area and then escape rather than trying to get a hold of him and take him down. The people here who'd rob with a gun(which are very very few)think they're God cause no one has a gun here. Those are the guys that you call psychopaths... I think the conclusion should be that you should stay (fairly) calm, and analyse the situation. If youre dealing with a scared guy who stares at you all the time pointing a gun, give him your stuff. If he looks around etc., get him ;)

das ist kein krav maga sonder ju jitsu..er ist ju jitsu meister. schau dir mal andere krav maga instruktoren an. jeder mischt das rein was er kann.

@lsloewen2 Its not for choreography. These techniques are meant to decimate the joints, blind and severely incapacitate even kill.
