Besides, Taro wasn't that far in front of Kadeem. He was just a bit in front of him. Kadeem got himself captured because he didn't try evading or taking the drone out in any way, but instead chose to keep in front and block it. Or it was just poor writing done for the sake of plot.
For context, some ppl theorize that Banjee is now part of the Silencers. During the pipeline realm, taro got emp'd by one of the silencers, presumably Banjee.

First: this should have been a meme. Second: that scene where Banjee steals Taro's line was one of my favorite moments, especially that epic face he made at 1:17! Third: SO MUCH NOSTALGIA!
It's why I prefer World Race to Acceleracers. The bright colors and more sensible proportions made the action look nicer than the sequel's muted color palate and lighting, not to mention the...proportions.

Really, it was unusual even at the time for a diecast toy car producer to have a show, and it will never happen again. It was the perfect time in media, and it wasn't even really marketing - I mean it was, but they really didn't HAVE to...and they went surprisingly hard out of pure passion. Edit: those are real engine noises - I remember reading somewhere that they recorded a ton of different high-displacement engines revving just because.
