What's your turn around for work on a ranger 2995dx? I live in Philadelphia and it would be cheaper for me to drop off the radio in Mountainside NJ than to ship and insure it. Is that a possibility?
So where do people like myself that is an engineer and licensed ham in communications find the info on how to properly do the total alignment procedure on these rigs and others?
It looks like a good radio but could you imagine buying this and getting it alignet and peaked and tuned up? It is huge to send it to a radio specialist and send it back! Just buy the latest released President Washington it is a great 80 watts P.e.P. radio and a lot cheaper than a RCI radio!
That’s a great question, unfortunately RCI has not offered an answer to that question yet. I would guess poor quality control and it’s a shame it is a very, very nice radio once aligned.
Frequency instability is a standard included feature included in all Ranger / Galaxy radios. For the money, we need to demand better. There are alternatives and I would strongly recommend you look a them, over these. Especially if you are an SSB operator. 73.
So far I will say I haven’t noticed frequency drift on this one yet, I was surprised! They upgraded the power supply and I believe it has improved over past models.
@@mr.stonerUDX714 the new radios from Anytone, President (Qixiang) are rock solid. It's just the Ranger shit that is always off frequency and drifting.
I watch a lot of these videos. The various accents from different parts of the country crack me up.
Sounds like Long Island N.Y.
Wow... Sounds like what little QC Ranger communications claimed to have in the past has gone out the window
Yes, the good news is I have spoken in length with them and they are trying to remedy the issues.
ALL radio companies have QC problem
Nice radio on the bench.
Is there a basing mod/adjustment I can't lower my dk below 40 watts or I lose a lot of top end

Why would they box a new radio off frequency
