Exactly. These meds and surgeries are great but need to be reserved for ppl who have lots of weight to lose, who have made the dietary changes. Benefits are supposed to outweigh the risks with any medical treatment. This isn’t for ppl wanting to lose 30 pounds.
And a bunch of Bullshit. Doesn’t know if she was on Ozempic Doesn’t know if she had bariatric surgery Talked about opioid use (what does that have to do with ozempjc) This was utter nonsense.
Where were all these “warnings” when Ozempic was just out for diabetes only? You didn’t hear anything bad until it was also used for weight loss. It’s the same medication. Same delivery of it. Same everything.
Exactly and long term affects of the meds is scary ! And big pharma is making trillions so the manufacturers aren’t going to pull the meds even if ppl die because there’s warnings and it kind of reminds of when metabolite weight loss pills came out yrs ago I did take em lost alor of weight yet serious side affects n perhaps other things were reported from metabolite usage so the pills were discontinued yet Ozembic is a huge huge cash cow so I’d think the Ozembic won’t be pulled anytime soon for weight losss n it’s not new as used for diabetic patients so ppl just really need to use common sense my feelings are that I’d never use it no way !
I have taken Ozempic for diabetes for two years. I have had no side effects until I went to a double dose so I went back down. I have lost a lot of weight but the most important thing is that my A1-c has gone from the diabetic range to normal range and it has stayed there. Because of Ozempic, I don’t have to worry about the foot ulcers that resulted in my aunt losing both her lower legs, or macular degeneration that made her go blind. I took Metformin for years and it did nothing. Ozempic may have literally saved my life. It really upsets me that these already thin people are using a medication to lose a few pounds and in the process, making it harder for diabetic patients to get.
Thank you for sharing your story. Ozempic and Mounjaro are game changers for type 2 diabetics and PCOS patients with insulin resistance (which is what causes weight gain). That said, they’re still drugs, and they need to be treated as such. I think the problem is that people are taking these drugs irresponsibly (too high of a dose, drinking alcohol when you’re not supposed to, mixing medication), and the health practitioners (not all, just the greedy ones) aren’t paying attention.
Thank you! I appreciate ur story so much!!!! It should be illegal to have these medicines for someone who’s not medically over weight or diabetic!!!! Kim k should not be allowed to take it for an awards shows or a met ball. It’s ridiculous. This country is so nuts in so many ways!I think I’m in the twilight zone half the time. It’s a unfair world, but so unfair to those who really need the medicine medically to live life. But it’s going to celebs who wanna look ridiculously thin with bubble bootys 🤦🏼♀️🙄
I friend of my family died recently after she suddenly started losing weight at a rapid level and they could not figure out why. She got so thin she looked skeletal and then went into a cardiac arrest. Turns out she had bariatric surgery many years ago and the situation Dr DuBrow described happened with the scar tissue. Thanks for talking about this Dr D!! People need to know about the risks of all this stuff and especially the Ozempic risks. The word about this stuff needs to get out there!
Oh wow, the same thing happened to my friend 3 years ago. Her family said she died from heart failure, but she also had weight-loss surgery a few years prior. I bet her surgery was a part of the reason why she passed away unexpectedly.
Anyone who has weight loss surgery signs off on ALL the risks of they have the surgery through a reputable surgeon! Period!!! There are absolutely life threatening risks that can happen like with any surgical treatment & if anyone doesn't believe that they're delusional!
LMP did look very thin and frail. It's so sad, she didn't need it at all but the media kept picking on her, hoping she would become bloated like her father, she even said that herself, the media obsess over her weight hoping she will die like Elvis for a story.
Yes! Thanks for bringing this up! I work in the emergency department and so many patients have come in with pancreatitis and SBO. Someone needs to bring this to light! 💡
I was on Ozempic for 4 months. The worst nausea, diarrhea, and cramping from my pancreas I’ve ever experienced. I was constantly calling in sic at work, was too sick to eat or do anything really. I got off of Ozempic and felt so much better. I gained some weight back but I don’t care! I feel much better off of it!
Ozempic and Rybellsus are simply diabetes medications given to people who don't have diabetes, because of their side effects, which are the desired outcome for weight loss; ie. Diarrhea. People should not be on them. They are not safe.
@@Cynthia-f4ydon't do it. Ozempic isn't a medication to cure the "illness" of being overweight. It is a diabetes medication that causes diarrhea, so it has been marketted as a weight loss drug, due to the fact that us causes diarrhea. Diet and exercise are the best, most effective way to safely lose weight. Don't be fooled by marketing. Ozempic is a repurposed drug that they woyld give you in order to force your body to have diarrhea. You can do better than that for yourself. I believe in you!
As someone who has been denied this type of surgery because I wasn't big enough, it really leaves me wondering how a doctor could look at her and do a procedure that was intended for someone who has a BMI above 35 which Lisa never appeared to be.
I agree, that’s harming a patient. Negligent. It seems like celebrities are surrounded by YES men. I hope the surgeon is exposed and his license is revoked.
As someone who had complications from gallbladder surgery resulting in repeated bouts of pancreatitis, I can tell you that it is more painful than labor pains. It takes you to your knees screaming out in pain. My doctor said that people should never ever mess with their pancreas. Please think twice before taking it!!
My friend is doing this to herself right now. She has weight loss surgery and is on Ozempic. I was with her for a day and she was in the bathroom immediately and then she would eat as much as a toddler when she did eat. It's disgusting how some of these doctors are just handing out Ozempic like candy.
I had gastric bypass surgery and a few years later went on Ozempic for diabetes. After almost 4 months, I'm pretty sure I was on the brink of pancreatitis, so I stopped taking it. My sister takes a very low dose of it with no serious issues and excellent results for both her diabetes and weight loss. Please tell your friend to pay attention to her symptoms. Upper abdominal pain and persistent nausea are serious signs she should not ignore.
Most people who aren’t taking it for the approved conditions are getting it online from medi spas and not from doctors. Knew a person who got really sick and when I warned her about it she said “I know. I should have discussed it with my doctor but..”
I had gastric bypass about 17 years ago. Went from 315 to 185 A1c still not great Went on Ozempic about a year ago. No side effects, lost 10 pounds, a1c 6.7. I'm very aware of my body and my doctor sees me every 6 months. I also don't drink any more due to ozempic. Thanks for this information.
I’m on ozempic and I’m diabetic it has helped my sugar so much plus change of diet. I went from 11.9 down to 7. I’ve never had any side effects thankfully.
@@ykook7000it can be used for people with a high BMI. You realize being obese and overweight is a massive risk for dying young. When are people gonna realize being overweight is a massive problem as bad as diabetes. It's become so normal now that people think ya should just live wth it, die of a heart attack when 50. That's normal in fast food obsessed America
I wasn’t ever on Ozempic, but I had several adhesions form from a hysterectomy. The pain went beyond anything I could ever describe! Nothing showed on any type of x-ray or sonogram. They finally , reluctantly did exploratory surgery. When I was awakened, the surgeon apologized and said he could definitely see why I was in so much pain. He also said that had this been a few hours later, the outcome would have been completely different. My one remaing ovary was completely necrotic along with several portions of my intestines. It still angers me that nobody believed anything was wrong, because they couldn’t see it on on any kind of test.! I’ll never forget screaming to the point I had literally no voice left and nobody seemed to care….It’s not like I was ever any kind of drug seeker. Just complete incompetence. I remember staring at the ceiling thinking I was going to die as an unknown ER statiistic ..Beware and always have an advocate!!!!
💔💔💔💔💔 The older I get, the more that I see how many many clinicians actively gaslight patients... it's like, how tf can you mofos just lie to people, bc what? Bc why? Is it because you're too lazy or is it too arrogant to open your worldview just a little, or idk good forbid, you maybe do a lick of research!? 😮 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ What's worse is how many doctors will blame hormones or merely menstruation, they'll say "it's because you're a woman" okay let's pretend I'm not a women huh? Also I'm really glad you screamed, it may be the only reason you're still alive ❤❤❤❤❤ I'm glad you loved to tell the tale. & thank you for taking the time to share your story with us all! I've learned so much from heartfelt comments on TH-cam videos. Fr maybe more valuable lessons than school even college or seminary! 😅😂❤
They think everyone is scamming for pain killers. I had a friend with horrific recurring migraines be parked for hours while they ignored her and she cried. Gulf War vet too, real nice thank you for your service,
I had weight loss surgery, I had a good doctor who busted my ass. The thing is, they’re letting people get it, who don’t need it. I used to weigh 448, I tried EVERYTHING to lose weight, and so just couldn’t. Now, I’m 13 years out and down over 250 lbs. I went from a size 32 to a size 12. I needed the surgery, it saved my life.
Same here!! I had gastric Bypass but these days they are just letting anyone get the surgery who do not need it and when they get it they turn into a skeleton because their BMI was so low
Please also start taking care of your lymphatic system. Daily lymph drainage! Eating real ingredients not the no sugar low fat. Love y’all! Happy healing
Did you try NOT EATING? Gastric bypass is a short cut for lazy, undisciplined people. My sister in law had it done 15 years ago, she was fatter than ever just 3 years after the surgery. THERE'S NO SURGERY FOR ZERO WILL POWER!
Congratulation on your accomplishment. Being overweight is so debilitating. In every way it controls your life. Thank God that there are ways to combat this disease whether it is medication or surgery, they both save life’s!
Really heartbreaking that Lisa didn't get help sooner, I can't imagine how awful 30 ft. Of intestine dying. Thank you Dr. Dubrow for looking into what's going on with Ozempic, there was no way it wasn't going to have some serious side effects. Sad part is, it won't stop most from going on it anyway.
I've been on it for 2 years... for the purpose it was designed for, Diabetes. I've never had any problems with it and it made a drastic difference to my glucose levels. Now, thanks to people using it to lose weight, there is a worldwide shortage and it's people like me, who truly benefit from it that are left to pay the price.
Yes and because money is no object, Lisa was not denied opioids either which would cause masking of symptoms. No wonder she looked beyond horrible at that Red Carpet event. All these idiots telling her how great she looked. Her family should have taken her to hospital - she was so out of it she could not have put up a fight. Instead the dang movie came first. So tragic !
MTknitter22, Yes I was thinking about how she looked at that event while watching this, thinking about how out of it in a dangerous kind of way. So sad, but she is now with her dad and her son.
Dr Dubrow is very straightforward. This is very informative. You just knew as soon as everyone started using a shortcut to weight loss that you could see the commercials for class actions years from now with lawyers asking, did you take Ozempic? And then the laundry list of complications that people were going to have from it. Not the least of which is potential thyroid cancer. It absolutely makes sense that this could happen because, from someone on YT, who is on it, the food just sits in your stomach for days. That’s why you don’t feel hungry. It’s awful that this happened to her. Probably a combination of many factors. Opioids stop the normal GI plus all the other things. RIP Lisa Marie.
I love Dr. Terry Dubrow. He is a really great plastic surgeon. I like the fact that he turns down surgeries if he feels it is going to cause harm to his patients. He won't do butt implants because they are dangerous where as other Dr's will. I like the way he explains the procedures and the risks involved. Thank you for putting him on your show. I had no idea that Lisa Marie Presley died as a result from weight loss surgery. It's so sad. She would be alive if she hadn't of done this.
We don't know that she did and he doesn't either. It was a bowel obstruction which could be related or not. And he's a plastic surgeon not a bariatric surgeon.
I've been on Ozempic for 2.5 months for morbid obesity. I was 320lbs. Have lost 32lbs so far. My life has already changed for the better. I don't have constant pain and fatigue. I sleep better, have more energy and less anxiety about the health risks of being obese. I have had no side effects. ALL drugs have a long list of potential side effects, but so does being extremely obese. For me the benefits outweigh the possible risks. Each person should make an informed decision depending on their own situation.
Congratulations on the weight loss! I just started Ozempic last week. I already lost 8 pounds! What I find interesting is that before this was being marketed for weight loss you never heard about any of the potential side effects. Why now?
I’m happy for your weight loss but there really is another way you may want to consider. This guy lost 250 lbs in ONE YEAR and he was NEVER hungry…CARNIVORE! Just last week Bill Nutt from Wasilla, AK started carnivore weighing in at 700 lbs!! The carnivore community loves Bill and we are all praying for his success. He has a new YT channel. If Ozempic doesn’t work for you, you may want to consider carnivore. God bless your efforts🙂
@@lisaskidgel-yn1oj Ozempic used to be prescription only medication, they didn't really need to popularize the side effects. Like I'd never heard of it before it became this "magic" weight loss drug. No one was saying yeah it's great for weight loss but there are also some very serious side effects associated with the use of Ozempic especially if you have certain medical conditions or have undergone certain medical procedures or are already taking certain medication. All you could see on social media was the snatched waist success story...
I had the same surgery in 2011 and a few years later, maybe 2016 I was doubling over in the worst pain of my life. Went to the ER, had to have emergency surgery with 2 feet of lower intestines cut out.
I was on ozempic about 4 months and mostly suffered fatigue and felt achy. Food started to taste different by the time I decided to stop taking it. Since January I have been off it and have lost about 30lbs with diet and exercise. It has been a good experience and it takes determination. My motivation is being type 2 diabetic. Loving how my clothes fit and feeling good!
people are taking Ozempic who are not diabetics, Ozempic replaces what diabetics need, if you don't need anything replaced, then why are you taking it,
THANK YOU, DR. DUBROW!!!! I personally know several people from work that started Ozempic, & they've called in sick from the side effects that are so bad! I called each one offering my help if they need me to come over. They said they'll never do this again. I'm not going to tell them I think they're crazy with their lose weight fast thinking!
My heart goes out to these people I’m currently taking Ozempic if anything it made my bathroom breaks more frequent because I struggled with having regular movements prior to taking this. I lost my baby at 22 1/2 weeks pregnancy on 3/5/22 and I struggled with depression and couldn’t get control of my diet. This helped me to get going in October and I subsequently started working out and lost 35lbs I have had follow up lab work and my creatinine levels were slightly off but nonetheless no other significant issues and I pray that none develop in the future 🙏
07/17/23 Thank you TMZ and Dr. Terry Dubrow for finallyyyyyyyyyyyyy bringing Ozempic to the LIGHT and forefront. I was on Ozempic for a few months to help control DIABETES and the stomach pains was rediculous so I had my doctor take me OFF of Ozempic and the pains STOPPED thank God. I learned soooo much from your video just now and now I understand what was going on inside of me. God bless you for bring this topic to light, hugsssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
My brother was prescribed Ozempjc for his diabetes and for weight loss. He ended up in ICU for three weeks, his gall bladder was backed up, he became septic and he had to go on dialysis due to kidney shut down! Three months later he still has a tube draining his gall bladder and is now in a rehab care facility. Because of Ozempic😢
This is the exact case of my companion of 15 years but he died four days ago after surgery to remove his gall bladder. The surgeon said he didn't know why he didn't survive but anything can happen to a man age 75. He was on Ozempic for five years for diabetes. His diabetes was totally under control on Ozempic and his readings were perfect. But he's no longer with us.
He can’t say they “just “ used Ozempic.. like he said earlier if you combine opioids, liquor, and any medication it’s a dangerous combination. Also most ppl do not understand that not all bariatric surgeries are the same. She had an intrusive procedure that involves her intestines which is very different from the lap band or the “sleeve” surgeries. You can’t win with this American medical industry. 1 minute being fat is deadly, the next minute getting skinny is deadly. Moral of the story.. enjoy life and count your blessings each day
@@MorganLeeModelxoI always laugh bc it’s always 25 year old childless women or gymbros who say these sort of things. Kind of silly to assume she was just taking it for weight loss. If she was taking it at all. This is 100% speculative.
I know a few people taking semiglutide. They have lost weight and two no longer need their diabetes meds. That in itself is a great accomplishment. People criticizing skinny people taking the peptides isn't really fair. One of my friends I really didn't think she looked like she had much to lose but her 35lb loss has her free from meds now. She also admits that any time she had a problem with it it was because she had a meal rich in fats, but when eating clean foods she never had a problem. Also, there's a little bit of a myth about people taking these meds for weight loss and making it hard for people to get it who need it to help with weight loss for diabetes. There are all kinds of online doctors prescribing Semiglutide and some the name brands. There's also a few you can get them online without a doctor.
More likely it was the combination of things including narcotics. Us medical peeps understand that over use of narcotics keeps colon from moving. Combine that with the previous surgery it’s not good.
@@tinalouise4327 yes indeed, we medical peeps do see the bariatric procedure in context. However, this surgery has some famously-bad dangers and we know how little detailed explanations of this patients often get from their surgeon. It’s very likely Lisa did not have truly “informed consent” about this procedure.
@MTknitter22 Vanity is a driving force in the numbers undergoing bariaric surgery, Ozempic use, and eating disorders. And we're ALL to blame with vicious articles about celebs and their bodies, that people never seem to tire of. Social media is #1 culprit in this
I went on ozempic for weight loss and I was so miserable. Nausea, diarrhea with constipation, stomach pains, tired all the time and pancreas pain. I was on this for 2 months and had to stop. I lost 16 pounds, but I couldn't function. I decided to continue to eat healthier, more exercise and back to fasting. Also i was pre diabetic, this was one of the reason i decided to do ozempic. And for the ones who will say just do the work to loss weight, i was walking 3 miles a day and trying to make better choices eating and fasting, just wasnt seeing results. I been off ozempic for three weeks and i feel so much better. Im still losing weight, by the right foods and moving more, i added weight lifting this time. I have about 20 more pounds to lose.
I'm a bariatric dietitian and bowel obstructions are a possible complication, but it is uncommon. I think the opioid use is a bigger player than Dr. Dubrow implied. She would have been in some extreme pain with that much necrotic bowel. She would have had a fever, it would have been awful. She might not have noticed as much if she was on very high levels of opioids.
Agreed. She would have been on some strong meds to stay away from the hospital as long as she did. Pain is a signal our body is sending to alert to a problem. Using drugs are just a temporary bandaid. And a normal healthy human body should be having several bowel movements a day to flush the system. If you are not, there is an issue to be addressed. Can't believe how many people believe going several days without a BM is normal.
@@TexasGurlAlwaysAndForeverthere is no normal, everyone is different. I have never in my entire life (i’m 40) have had BM several times a day or even every day. I’ll go a few days without needing to go. I feel fine and everything is normal, thats just how my system works. My mom is the same way. I think the big indicator of something being wrong is how you feel, if you’re in pain and not feeling your optimal self then thats a problem and it needs to be checked out.
@@TexasGurlAlwaysAndForeverThat’s interesting you say several bowels a day, when I was young, healthy and pretty thin my friends would constantly tease and laugh at how many bowels I would have, Lol looking back although I was young I walked everywhere and ate a lot of homemade food, I hated bread.
Thank you, doctor for that info. I have a birth defective pancreas, and pancreatitis is a common occurrence for me. I hope people realize how painful pancreatitis is, and losing weight is not worth risking vital organs.
Agreed. I've never taken Ozempic but I did lose 145 pounds over a few months because of an ischemic colitis I didn't know about until almost too late. I got acute pancreatitis that turned into chronic pancreatitis. It is not worth an injection or pills or however people take it. It's not worth the risk.
I had bypass 22 yrs ago. I lost 125 and have kept it off. I did have 2 small bowel obstruction surgery as they messed up the first one, I then did need a hernia repair. I gained 35lbs that I lost over the last 2 Yrs.
I’m 62 and vegan for 7 years. I recently started my raw vegan journey a few months ago. I take no medications and have perfect blood work. I weighed 120 pounds back in college in my 20s. I practiced vegetarianism because I disliked the cafeteria food. After moving back home to care for my elderly patients and my grandmother, I began to slip back into the Standard American Diet and gained weight. Since becoming vegan, I lost some weight. But now in my senior years, I am better able to control my weight and my blood pressure with a raw food diet of fruits and salads and juices. I’ve already lost 18 pounds and have 30 pounds more to reach my target weight of 120 again. I’m patient. Maybe lose a pound a week or a little less at my age. I would encourage people to be patient when it comes to weight loss. Also, as we age, we cannot get away with eating like we did when we were younger. Metabolism slows down. Blood thickens. Circulation slows down. All part of the natural process of aging. Don’t let food control you to the point that you are desperate and will try anything to lose weight. No one can control their weight and have healthy arteries long-term consuming animal products. Go plant-based and be patient. In time, you will be very happy you did. RIP beautiful Lisa-Marie. ❤️🙏🌹
not everyone can be vegan....there a 4 essential amino acids required from some animal/fish/ egg protein.....its works for you is great! i almost died after 3 years of vegan...now i just eat 3-5 bites/ a week of "meat protein"....this usually fufills my minimum requirements
I remember sitting in on two autopsies for a masters program that I was completing at a hospital. Our class was so large that each day a different group would see a different type of autopsy. Some saw still births, some saw accidents with children etc. this gave me so much anxiety because fear welled up inside as the days grew closer for our observation day. I felt lucky on the day our group went though because our two cases appeared to have died of natural causes. There was one woman who had passed in her sleep. Easy peasey, she looked like a fake Hollywood dummy. I only say this because I assumed a dead person would look super gruesome and scary. She did not and everything went by the book. Second one, an inmate who passed in his cell after complaining of horrible stomach cramps for days. This one scarred me. When they got to his stomach the whole floor began to wreak. They pulled out his intestines and over half of it was completely black. They literally stretched it across the room to find where the necrosis/infection started. The pathologist was so angry because in the notes it stated that the prison Drs assumed the stomach cancer he had previously had come back so instead of properly checking him they started giving him chemo meds. The bowel obstruction caused a horrible infection which seeped into his blood stream and killed him. Sepsis. The pathologist yelled out “they killed that man.” . As students you can imagine we were scared as heck. We were ushered out not long after that but the smell I will never forget. It stuck to us all and we had to shower to get it off. Silly me I didn’t wash my hair. I very quickly regretted that because my hair stunk to high heavens. 1. I’ve read about intestines being so long but to see them in person will blow your mind. 2. To see anything black come out of someone’s body is so scary. 3. That smell will forever be etched in my psyche.

Terry Dubrow is an absolutely amazing Surgeon. I hope all these people considering weight loss listen to him. Too many women crave to be stick thin in LA.
I had seven surgeries (not bariatric or for weight loss) over the years that caused scar tissue to form in my abdomen. I suffered occasional small intestine blockages many times from that scar tissue and was hospitalized. I was lucky that the condition resolved itself each time without more surgery. I haven’t had a blockage in 3 years. Here’s why: I have a neighbor, a Chiropractor, who I ran into one day and he asked how I was. When I told him about my recent hospitalization he suggested I try shockwave therapy to break up the scar tissue. I figured I had nothing to lose so I signed up for a series of treatments. It worked. I haven’t had a bowel obstruction in the 3 years since the treatments. Medical doctors need to think “outside” the box more often.
Thank you for being honest. I have diabetes and I’m prescribed trulicity and I’m terrified about how underreported the side effects are. I’ve taken two weeks of it and stopped. I’m still feeling side effects several months later. I’m 115 lbs so it’s not for weight loss. My A1c is 12.5. The medication helped immediately though it’s brutal with side effects and after effects. I’m terrified it’s able to cause serious long lasting damage and anything mainstream is pushing or promoting, I’ve grown cautious to even entertain. It needs to be reported and discussed.
Ozempic caused gastroparesis in me. I went in thinking it wouldn't happen to me. My stomach was contracting so hard I was throwing up due to shear force. I've given birth to 3 kids and survived shattering my ankle to the point that the first option was amputation (they rebuilt it, but it will never be the same) and I'd still welcome those pains over what Ozempic did to me. I was in and out of the ER 3 times before they figured out what was wrong. It was hell! Don't risk it, please. I still can't eat 100% normally.
Wernickes Syndrome after gastric bypass. I know bc I had it. Lost my eyesight, walking & short term memory…But, God spared me…I’m living for God!!! His purpose!!!❤🙏🥰👏
Any abdominal surgery can cause scar tissue; not just bypass surgery. Having had bypass, I developed adhesions nearly 30 years after the surgery. I can’t imagine someone would not know something is terribly wrong. The pain is the worst you can imagine and definitely blood pressure through the roof. Not even sure it’s the drug that caused it (I never took ozempic; but I am on a regimen for spinal issues from a ruptured disk). but definitely being able to have access to really strong pain killers to ignore the problem would be where my thoughts would go for someone who is trying to ignore that kind of pain. Even on my pain meds; the pain was incredible. A 30 minute laparoscopic surgery later; I was like brand new! I am so thankful to the amazingly ER I went to, because they knew immediately what was wrong, but of course I was put on ‘no food’ for nearly 7 days because of ‘insurance’ protocols in ruling out an obstruction first. But I had all the morphine I wanted and even that didn’t cut the pain or lower my BP, so of course, I had all the meds to prevent having a stroke too. So if you have had abdominal surgery and you or a friend start having these symptoms, GO TO A GOOD Dr!!! Now; not later!!!
If a person takes a lot of painkillers, it can result in them not feeling that there is something terribly wrong with their body. Back in the 1970s, Jerry Lewis took so much Percodan for a serious back injury that he didn't notice that he had a stomach ulcer until he started bleeding out of his nose, mouth, and ears.
I know like 5 people who have had surgery for this. One of them seems to do pretty good because she took it really serious, works out, eats right and stuck to the plan. Almost everyone else ended up with dumping syndrome, gained weight back and didn't stick to the rules making themselves sick.
So glad to see he is speaking up on this. It’s one thing to hear it from those who use it, it’s another thing to hear it from the doctors who are trying to treat these patients dealing with the side effects. Suicidal ideation and depression is another huge side effect of Ozempic people aren’t talking about either.
I had this happen. I had bad stomach cramps every time I ate. I lost 75lbs in 9 months without trying. Doctors said I was fine. I woke up one day and couldn’t even drink water. Three days I puked so badly I couldn’t get out of bed, no joke. We to the ER they said you go a bowl blockage but we would have to do exploratory surgery. They were sending me home to die. I called my bariatric surgeon he said don’t leave, no matter what don’t leave. He called them and they flew me by airplane to him. He said if I went home I’d have died. I’m not on ozempic but I do take a pain medication that slows my bowels.
He is a brilliant Doctor who tells it like it is. He never shys away from the facts. This broadcast is going to save lives. People will re-think what lifestyle is healthy and safe. G-d bless this Doctor.
@@Catherine-rv1ut Then you probably are better off without Ozempic. I cannot manage without insulin and I already fell into a coma once. Ozempic has helped immensely
2 years ago I was on Ozempic for a month for Type 2 diabetes. Woke up the day after taking my 4th injection not feeling good at all, just thought it was some kind of side effect and it would pass. Was taken to hospital, 5 hours later I was in having an operation where they had to remove part of my bowel. I will never, ever touch that stuff again. What is scary is a lot of doctors aren't educated on the risk and I have had a few tell me to go back on it.
Yes Dr Dubrow. Tell them. Ozempic has already done it's damage. I get up at 6 am and power walk/ jog in the safety and privacy of my grassy backyard for 30 mins then use free weights to tone up. Pandora blasting in the background. Done by 7:15. I prepare and store lots of healthy homemade soups and stews. This has enabled me to maintain an active, healthy medication free body. Everyone can do this; it begins with baby steps and the willpower.
Your post is well received, but I disagree with your notion of "baby steps" and "willpower". Unfortunately we live in a culture DOMINATED by marketing and psychological conditioning. People have become to accustomed to the idea that hard work is no longer necessary because we humans, in all our brilliance, have the ability to make a magical pill for EVERYTHING. This leaves a brainwashed people with two choices. Make better choices and work towards a goal, DAY AFTER DAY, month after month, or, take a pill and exert NO EFFORT to get the same result in a fraction of the time. Perhaps a pedantic difference in word choice, but willpower and baby steps cannot be made without first making the CHOICE. Choices are what our entire existence on this planet boil down to at the end of the day.
Not everyone is taking Ozempic to lose weight. Some people, like myself, take it because we are diabetic. No amount of baby steps and willpower is going to change that, so NO, not 'everyone' can do that.
.......and not everyone has the physical ability to power walk/ jog, due to many different physical limitations- including hip, knee, spinal injuries or limitations, pain, etc. They can't even begin to "baby step" it. Your suggestions and motivation are appreciated but many people just can't do what you're suggesting. You can't just simplify things, saying that everyone can do it - you're not appreciating the fact that some people just have permanent injuries, damages and physical handicaps that completely prohibit them from your advice. These are the ones who have to figure out other ways to lose weight- and it's then easy to fall for weight- loss gimmicks, which can be very dangerous, or resort to major bariatric surgeries to achieve weight loss, which, btw - has lead to much success for many people! Surgery ALWAYS comes with a risk/s though, so it should always be well researched, discussed at length were your doctor and much thought given to all aspects of the surgery, especially an ELECTIVE surgery, before you commit.
She didn’t die from ozempic. The autopsy would have said if it was. The Dr, should not imply she was. She was suffering in silence for so long. I believe she was so depressed about her sons death, she thought she was grief sick. Only. She told her fans she never left the house. She looked so weak and frail. I wish she would have gotten help. And her Dr. Prescribes a recovering addict opioids?
Happened to me at 34 weeks pregnant. Ultrasound doc at hospital found the dead tissue just in time. Surgeon removed one foot of intestine. Saved my life. That’s for sure.
@@kate1830 Some have that "Ozempic face" and have aged 10 years, unnaturally skinny, unattractive. These women only need to maybe loose 10 or 15 pounds but we're talking 25/35 or more pounds. One of them is always cold in the dead of summer, has a heater at her desk and everyone else is frying. They all look crazy. It's disturbing.
I am so stunned to find out Lisa had weight loss surgery. I had no idea she had a weight problem in the first place😳. So sad that her children lost her way too soon - May she Rest In Peace & be United with her Dad in heaven.
I was on Ozempic for T2 diabetes , had extreme nausea and felt constantly "stuffed" as if I'd just eaten . This was due to your metabolism was slowed down and it's what makes you loose weight. Never taking that again !
I’ve been on Wellbutrin for awhile. Long story short, I was prescribed Naltrexone about two years ago. Those two together made me lose a ton of weight. I was never hungry. When I was, I’d take three or four bites and feel full. I thought I was dying. My husband figured out what was up. I stopped taking Naltrexone. My metabolism is still a little faster because of it. But, I do feel more in control. I hope I’m ok.
The same thing happened to my sister but a friend found her passed out on the floor and called an ambulance. She was dead for a few minutes but was revived, she lost all of her hair etc from having died. She said her only symptoms were like having the flue for three days before she passed out.
I had my experience myself . I think Doctor is hundred percent right .people has to record their experiences with Ozempic and weight loss surgery in secure websites because no one listen at least it will be documented somehow for future listeners
THANK YOU! THANK YOU for sharing this. I find it so concerning that that these medications are heavily advertised as 'solutions', but the risks of are not properly disclosed.
Thank u Dr Dubrow for this important information and I was shocked to hear about lisa Marie presley rip had weight loss surgery and now we know what is the cause of her death and I myself had loss my weight of 30 pounds 3 years ago and did it with no surgery Thank God I'm still alive and turned 55yo last week 🙏🙏🙏
I'm 52 now so some things don't bother me as much but after listening to this, I'll just stay a little thick. No harm done as long as I'm healthy and happy with myself
She caused her own death. Sorry, I don’t have any sympathy. It’s like people in Hollywood have swapped cocaine for Ozempic. Why on earth would you want to look like a skeleton, like Sharon Osbourne or Scott Disick?
I have this happened to me and it’s very painful. I went to an excellent surgeon and he said there’s no guarantee it will not recur but now it’s like eight years later and has not come back. I’ve heard a lot of people die after gastric bypass from adhesions it always shocks me it didn’t happen to me.
Poor thing, she didn't need any type of weight loss intervention. I was shocked when I heard of her passing, may she rest in peace. Any weight gain was probably the result of her son's death. That's the type of loss every parent fears the most. So sad to hear this. I hope Pricilla finds peace too, that was her only child.
I thought they were only doing bypass surgery for morbidly obese people with no other chance to lose weight. Lisa was short and I guess it was easy for her to gain weight, and seemed to struggle with her weight sometimes but she didn't seem like the person really in need of such an invasive surgery. It seems to me Hollywood doctors are doing a lot of questionable stuff for celebrities.
I think that Lisa Marie had gained a lot of weight and wanted a quick weight loss before she was going to the Awards ceremony where they were going to honor her father's movie. She looked like she was in distress then. I saw a photo of her and she was huge.
If I recall, her father also had gastrointestinal issues, and the prescription drugs he took didn't help any. She may have also been prone to those issues. With medications for weight loss, diabetes, and gastrointestinal issues, it can sometimes lead to fatal complications. For example, The Eagles Glenn Frye died from complications due to his taking immunosuppressants to help with Crohn's Disease, an autoimmune disorder of the intestines. I believe Lisa Marie (and Elvis) may have suffered from severe Crohn's and/or IBS, and had gastric surgery to correct the condition, but apparently had complications. Bee Gees Maurice and Robin Gibb also suffered from gastrointestinal issues. Maurice died of heart failure due to bowel obstruction; his family sued the hospital for not diagnosing his condition sooner.
This definitely needs to be brought to everyone's attention so they can make an informed decision on whether or not they should start using ozempic, and how long they should take it.
Clear.
Concise.
Direct.
Non judgemental.
A warning.
Exactly. These meds and surgeries are great but need to be reserved for ppl who have lots of weight to lose, who have made the dietary changes.
Benefits are supposed to outweigh the risks with any medical treatment. This isn’t for ppl wanting to lose 30 pounds.
Remember its a Trillion dollar BUSINESS its not to truly heal you everything is a dangerous bandage 💔
And a bunch of Bullshit.
Doesn’t know if she was on Ozempic
Doesn’t know if she had bariatric surgery
Talked about opioid use (what does that have to do with ozempjc)
This was utter nonsense.
He is such a good doctor and I really appreciate that he tells it like it is and is not condescending to patients.
Is fillers are pending as well 💉

Yessss
He’s a fool. He doesn’t know anything about her history but he’s here on TMZ acting like an authority. No thanks!
You haven’t stopped to think he’s losing business bc of ozempic?

Happened to my next door neighbor many years ago. She went from over 300 lbs to barely 100 lbs. Her husband found her dead in the bathroom.
It's so sad, she didn't need it at all but the media kept picking on her, hoping she would become bloated like her father, she even said that herself, the media obsess over her weight hoping she will die like Elvis for a story.
sorry for your loss
I’m just getting ready to see a Dr about getting on Ozempic . This video and your post has me kinda nervous
Sounds awful. Are these side effects supposed to eventually go away?

I have this same question!
I agree, that’s harming a patient. Negligent. It seems like celebrities are surrounded by YES men. I hope the surgeon is exposed and his license is revoked.

Because she paid cash and no insurance needed. It was about making money and her dr didn’t care about her health or they would have not done it
Remember,we don't see these ppl all the time,so we don't k ow if she actually gained a lot of weight at some point.
As someone who had complications from gallbladder surgery resulting in repeated bouts of pancreatitis, I can tell you that it is more painful than labor pains. It takes you to your knees screaming out in pain. My doctor said that people should never ever mess with their pancreas. Please think twice before taking it!!
i control it with low carb

Was she healthy when she was obese?
Most people who aren’t taking it for the approved conditions are getting it online from medi spas and not from doctors. Knew a person who got really sick and when I warned her about it she said “I know. I should have discussed it with my doctor but..”
I had gastric bypass about 17 years ago. Went from 315 to 185
A1c still not great
Went on Ozempic about a year ago. No side effects, lost 10 pounds, a1c 6.7. I'm very aware of my body and my doctor sees me every 6 months. I also don't drink any more due to ozempic. Thanks for this information.

He mentioned opioid use so she probably ignored it? so sad.
So tragic !

He's really one of my favorite doctors. He just tells it like it is
Dr Dubrow is very straightforward.
Three months later he still has a tube draining his gall bladder and is now in a rehab care facility. Because of Ozempic😢
This is the exact case of my companion of 15 years but he died four days ago after surgery to remove his gall bladder.
Moral of the story.. enjoy life and count your blessings each day
But you can still get fit in a healthy way that is not deadly. These people are using short cuts

Thanks Dr Terry for talking about how dangerous bariatric surgery can be. It is horrible and note how many celebs gained all the weight back anyway.

Sounds like you are doing great on your own😊
How are you going now Brenda?

Thanks Dr.Terry for the info. Continues Blessing to you and your family ❤
Wow, this is so important for people to hear. Thank you for doing this Dr. Dubrow.
Thank you. You are thoughtful ,caring and want only the best for us. This is much appreciated.
They have said she had been vomiting and feeling feverish for months before her death.
No offence, but I'd rather take the side of precaution. He's a doctor, and a good one at that.
Thank you,doctor for that info.
@@Kepi_KeiGlad you’re better

I had that done 18 years ago, lost 160lbs, reached my goal and have maintained for all these years!
Thank you Dr. Dubrow for the information about gastric bypass and Ozempic type drugs, there hasn't been much of it in spite of many going for it.
Very thoughtful of Dr. Dubrow to make this video. Helpful information
You already are saving lives bringing this information. God bless you for making us aware of such danger
What master's program were you completing, if I may ask? :)

Terry Dubrow is an absolutely amazing Surgeon. I hope all these people considering weight loss listen to him. Too many women crave to be stick thin in LA.
Thank you Dr. Terry for your information it is so helpful.🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾✌🏾✌🏾✌🏾✌🏾
Appreciate the honesty.
Thanks for bringing this up people need to hear this. Every one wants to be on this so called miracle weight loss .
Amen!
Dumping is not the patients fault
This attitude of judgment that you are expressing is why people turn to ozempic
RIP Lisa Marie ♥️
Much respect to Dr Dubrow and a huge thank you.

This 💯💯💪🏽
So glad to see he is speaking up on this. It’s one thing to hear it from those who use it, it’s another thing to hear it from the doctors who are trying to treat these patients dealing with the side effects. Suicidal ideation and depression is another huge side effect of Ozempic people aren’t talking about either.
I don't understand the hype about suicidal ideation. If you feel suicidal, stop taking it 🤷🏻
Oh Man, I dont even know this guy and he seems like such a good teacher. Wish I had him in med school! ❤
Well damn. I was going to ask my doctor Monday to be put on Ozempic. I’m going to use this as a sign not to do it
@@Catherine-rv1ut It's been great for me. I am diabetic and it's helped my blood sugars immensely, I am not on as much insulin, and no side effects.
@@Catherine-rv1ut Then you probably are better off without Ozempic. I cannot manage without insulin and I already fell into a coma once. Ozempic has helped immensely
He's not saying it's dangerous. He's saying that a combination of surgery, opioids, alcohol and Ozempic together can be dangerous.
Why did you have to have a portion of your bowel removed? What was your diagnosis exactly?

Terry is great he’s just such a likeable man
Dr. Dubrow is such a great doctor.
He shares the truth about so many of these dangerous procedures and dangerous drugs.
Beautiful encouragement-Soups are delicious AND filling.
Its
.......and not everyone has the physical ability to power walk/ jog, due to many different physical limitations- including hip, knee, spinal injuries or limitations, pain, etc.
He didn't say she died from ozempic listen he is a doctor and read the autopsy that it was a bowel obstruction!
Finally a honest doctor.
You explain things soooo well, thanks!
Happened to me at 34 weeks pregnant. Ultrasound doc at hospital found the dead tissue just in time. Surgeon removed one foot of intestine. Saved my life. That’s for sure.
That's truly horrifying 😱
Listen, there are about six women at my job taking O and my goodness they all look crazy.

Wellbutrin has a side effect of weight loss
The same thing happened to my sister but a friend found her passed out on the floor and called an ambulance. She was dead for a few minutes but was revived, she lost all of her hair etc from having died. She said her only symptoms were like having the flue for three days before she passed out.
Is it because she was on ozempic
I had my experience myself . I think Doctor is hundred percent right .people has to record their experiences with Ozempic and weight loss surgery in secure websites because no one listen at least it will be documented somehow for future listeners

Poor Lisa Marie 😢 so sorry she had to go through this.
She didn't have to go through this. She chose to have extreme bariatric surgery. Her choice when there were many others such as diet and exercise.
She did it to herself.
Thank you for sharing this information with us, Dr. Dubrow!

I'm so glad he sent out this alert and I trust him and his evaluations of the dangers of this medication.
Thanks, Dr. Dubrow! We need to hear more about what might ail us of our own doing.
I’m 4”11 I weigh 140lbs dr sd I’m morbidly obese I laughed at him.
Lisa Marie Presley, always look as if she was under the influence of something.
@@dawnpariseau4559 I'm 5'1 and you are definitely obese if you are 4' 11 and 140 lbs.
