I must say the engine bay looks nice in the original green. Much nicer than painting it black. The car is coming along great! And I love Mer's shirt! So cool!
GREAT SHIRT!! LOL his laugh when he saw it was priceless. That's too funny. Awesome tools also. I dig the flare tool, I think I might snag one of those.
@@drippinglass The '71 442 I once had was 4 wheel drum. They worked fine as long as I crawled under it once in awhile to keep up with adjustment. In the days when these cars were new, a lot of people wouldn't buy a car with those new fangled disk brakes. Even Uncle Tony was talking about switching his drag car over to 4 wheel drums, because they cut a few pounds off the car's weight. When going fast is the objective, slowing down is just a formality, or fatality...one of those-lol.
Dan did you get embarrassed when Dani called you a stud? Lol! She better quit telling secrets. Curious ladies sometimes forget themselves and quit being ladies. I didn't say all of them I just mean some of them. Lol! Sounds like you know your way around more than a car. Lol!
Three things I want to point out: 1) Body grounds are monster important on this car. Don't be cheap on wiring. 2) Old Mopars have an issue with the main power going through the firewall. Make sure the health of that wiring is really good. If not, get rid of the terminals on the firewall block, (both sides), and run a new better wire. Look up wiring issues on old mopars for the best options. 3) You can use a MINI STARTER on the 440 and it will give you much more room around the headers and also do a better job of spinning the motor over faster. Seriously. One from the junk yard will be better than a factory style rebuild.
For a Dodge/Plymouth you don't like you are replacing alot of Parts Looking Good, Dan I think you really love this Car.Once the 440 is in The Satellite will be your Favorite ride SMOKER AND A ROASTER
That's rear defroster. Great shirt too. Looks like it's warming up a bit out there. We've had a couple of days of warmer weather, in the teens, here is Ontario but nothing consistent yet. But no snow!! So we're all good. The old Plymouth is looking good. Look forward to the next one. Stay safe.
It sure has come a long way since you got it I love that original - looks great is not the same piece of junk that you hold in their own the trailer you do good work
Use your marks to get the “a-ligament” (we refer to rough alignment as “eye-lignment”) on the upper control arms before the motor goes in... access is tight. When setting your ride height on the torsion bars, it takes a little while to settle in... if you can bounce the car and roll it a little you can help it settle.
I saw that done on the “Cold War Motors” channel. He is currently bringing a ‘57 Plymouth back to life. He took the back half of a ‘60 Dodge and grafted in onto the Plymouth. This is why I started watching. He is currently putting interior back together. Refurbishing what is possible. You should check out his channel. He is located in Central Alberta. Down to Earth like you. Very knowledgeable about various vehicles. He has over 50 cars on his property that are waiting for attention. Very entertaining for different reasons.
04:18 You should lube the washers and the stud threads when you pull them in. Just my two cents. 07:06 Yes that's rear defrost. Open the trunk lid and you should see a blower motor. Also a switch on the dash for it.
Just Fantastic work Dan , it’s not a tri-five but it’s going to be one hell of a Hot Rod bud . I can’t wait for the garage burn out . What a great collaboration with Uncle Tony . Cheers
That thing is cool and I kind of dig the colour. We had a neighbour with a ‘Cuda in that colour when I was a kid. It was jacked up with Cragars and side pipes, it looked great!
For sure you have to get your mom one of those shirts. Glad you dad like it. Looks nice under the hood. Wish me luck with the bottom of the fender for the f350 made the whole think now tacking the front bottom half. Will put a video up when done.
Love your vids Dan! The way you present them, your unique humour yeah don't change a thing. Looking forward to some street action stuff what with all the V8s you got lined up! Cheers
Awesome video: Great progress on Satelite and the wagon too! I really liked the group video with Uncle Tony, I follow him too, he seems like a great guy! Very Cool!! Greg
I have a 1968 Plymouth Fury VIP which has a cowl vent cover the same as the Road Runner. Pop the trim off at the bottom of the windshield, unscrew the fasteners holding the cowl vent cover on and you have complete access to the wiper linkage in case it's frozen somewhere other than the pivots or if there's a problem where it connects to the motor. If this car is anything like my VIP, you'll want to shop vac out all the leaves and other debris that found its way in there too.
Partial to the Satellite videos. Like the work you’ve done and the front suspension videos are going to help because that’s where I’m at on my project.
The Satellite is turning out great. I watched coldwarmotors fix his door panels that way and it turned out pretty well, so I'm sure yours will turn out great too. I can't wait to see it all finished up. You guys were great on the UTG livestream last night.
It's really coming along well! The rear defroster takes forever in those. My dad had one he mainly cussed at it, didn't help much. Love the new tools ans keep up the great work!
Tip o my hat to ya Dan!! You're creating new Mopar fans with every video lol. Like the government, I think folks have been given mis information about Mopars. Coming along great! Thanks
Just got done doing nicopp brake lines all the way round my 74 Cuda, and Im doing nicopp fuel lines this week, LOVE THAT STUFF! And just the same as you, I was amazed my Plymouths dome light still worked haha keep up the good work, specially aggravating the Mopar nerds!
This is LaDonna's husband...love Dani's giggle when you said hopefully every thing will work when you hook up the battery. My usual thought is please God please let it work!
HEY! Nice Work! For Your door cards drown them in armorall, then use a hair dryer to soften the vinyl further . IF its attached to the card using impact adhesive, then be careful as that stuff will soften the vinyl anyway. To attach it to the door card backs, use an air stapler - buy one if you don't have one it will make doing that stuff a cinch rather than a PITA....Good Luck.
I'm a Chevy Man , but I looked at a 68 Plymouth when i was 16 in 1981-82 ?? And almost bought it. $1200.00 bucks from Down South!! My Pop talked me out of it. I Found my 72 Nova from North Carolina for $1400.00 and have had it ever since. I wish i could have had both plus hung on to all the Cars and trucks Ive had i would be a Millionaire
Loving your RR clone Dan The wiper "wheel boxes"( a British term) are definitely seized and what's causing your 53 year old wiper motor grief (as you diagnosed). Rarely can you successfully unseize and save them. Worse yet, I never knew of a source for them, other than a stealership or junkyard. Wrap your forearms or you'll cut them up getting at them. Later Mopars had hidden wipers, much easier access. Yes, you have the rare optional rear window defogger. Never seen one on a pre-71 model. Hate to break it to you Dan, they didn't work well back then and I've no reason to believe they'll work any better nowadays. Chances are good it's not seized, because no one ever turned them on( no wear). They depended on waiting until your interior had been warmed up by the heater up front. Then they recirculated your interior air and blew it back at the rear glass. Not well at all! Sports Satellites never came with 440s, so you just go ahead and paint it Hemi Orange. It ain't concours. Enjoy your Plymouth. Plymouth motors went from turquoise in 69' to corporate medium blue(ugly) in 70', with air cleaners painted "orange"! Mopar spotters tip Dan; if it has an orange air cleaner, it doesn't have high compression and chances are good it may not have forged rods and crank. Compression ratios began to drop after 69' but Chryco didn't truly drop their pants and take it, like GM, for fully two more years, making them undisputedly the fastest performers in 71'. No need to pull out a big block to embarrass the competition's neutered 71's. A high compression, deep geared, 340 A-body cleaned all but one or two(roll out Hemi/Six pack) of the competition's 71' models....handily. Not fair, but neither were Hemis. Malcolm Ottawa Valley
I finally did a little mock up on my AMC Spirit! The SBC with the S10 V8 conversion mounts is going to line right up with the motor mount pads on the crossmember for the 4 cyl Iron Duke. Its going to make it a simple conversion. Now I'm excited to get to it.
Nice to learn the wiring is good to go, car starting to come around. I know the front seat is out but it was a hoot seeing Danni peeking up over dash lol looked like she was looking through the steering wheel and dash lol
Chrysler’s are expensive to restore. Chevy’s or Fords you get the most Bang for the Drackma. RIGID makes the best tubing bender. I’ve bent miles of stainless tubing. Great video AGAIN. MORE SILVER FLAKE. and paint the back of that Flat Black 😉👍🏻
Hey , Dan, satellite looks great! Love everything you do , you have mentioned you are getting a crate engine, Are you talking brand new crate engine, or used engine shipped in a crate? Always remember, MOPAR=my old pig ain’t running! Thanks to you, Dani, and Murr
I must say the engine bay looks nice in the original green. Much nicer than painting it black. The car is coming along great! And I love Mer's shirt! So cool!
7:45 Murs reaction, priceless
Satellite just keeps getting better and better, great job. I don’t know why, but I really like that color.
I totally agree maybe a little metal flake in it tho
Mur’s smile and laugh after receiving his signature shirt was PRICELESS. 😂🤓
Dan is right about the color of this car. Interior exterior colors are wicked awesome and go well with black carpet, tires and everything else!
That satellite is like fine whine the longer it sets in your Garage. The better it gets!!!!!! Once again. AWESOME WORK!!!😎😎👍
Not a Mopar fan. That said, you have done a great job of bringing this car back from the dead. Kudos!
GREAT SHIRT!! LOL his laugh when he saw it was priceless. That's too funny. Awesome tools also. I dig the flare tool, I think I might snag one of those.
Haha yeah he dug it
Your really kick ing butt on this plymouth.I am not a mopar man but I have always loved that body style especially a gtx like that. Great job Dan.
Love the Mur cruise wear.
It's coming together nicely on the inside it's good that Mur is coming over to help you.
Nice and clean !! Great work Dan!! Mean green Mopar.
A 440 crate motor on front drum breaks, now that's a walk on the wild side Dan love it
My ‘70 V-code 4-speed Dana Charger has 4 wheel drums. They are the 11” however. Still scary! 😁
Lol, I was thinking the same thing. Puts disc brakes on all the tri 5s, yet the Dodge gets drums. Lol
The 10” drums came stock with the 383, 318, and 273.

I suggest changing the heater core for heating inside

Great video Dan, the Dodge is coming along nicely. Thanks for entertaining us. Looking forward to the next one.
Dan, ty so much!
Body Metal is in such good shape. Wide rear tires too , good choice .
Yeah its got a nice look
Nice work!! The 68 Satellite is looking awesome!! I enjoyed watching you guys on UTG last night. Cheers!!
Way to go Dan! Doing such a great job! Can’t wait to to see this one on the road to!
Replacing the studs 👍
I love the brake line, much easier than running the hard line and. Having to use the bender.
Good tools One stiff payment forever enjoy your good tools
You have to admit that’s one sweet looking ride.
Great tip to set the studs!!
For a Dodge/Plymouth you don't like you are replacing alot of Parts Looking Good, Dan I think you really love this Car.Once the 440 is in The Satellite will be your Favorite ride
