After the atrocity of the last movie, I was really worried about never be able to experience the joy of watching a new Predator film. Really looking forward for this promising movie
I'm still surprised most people forgot that Dutch didn't knock the Predator out with brute strength. It was all about outsmarting him in the end. You could even argue the machismo was a liability at times.
Exactly. The only reason Dutch won at the end of the first film was because he exploited one of the Predator’s biggest weaknesses: his pride. The Yautja have always been a species who’ve strived to prove themselves as the apex predators - no matter the circumstances. Dutch proved himself to be a capable warrior, so the Predator opted for one-on-one combat in order to slay his opponent. It was one of his biggest mistakes, as Dutch used the opportunity to lure the Predator into a false sense of security and mortally wound him. The Predator most likely killed itself due to his shame - and as a last ditch effort to kill Dutch and win by default. The point is, though, the Predator wasn’t killed with brute force - as Kris stated above - but rather met his demise because of the exploitation of his ego.
That's also why the predator lost, it had Dutch in its clutches ready to kill him but it wanted to test its skill by fighting Dutch man to predator and Dutch used his skill and also had luck on his side that the predator eventually did stay in the right spot to be fatally crushed.

For me, only the original 1987 movie is worthy. The other 2 are crap. Likewise the comments and opinions that Dutch never used his physical force to beat the Predator...He used a combination of his physical strength along with his brains...In order to defeat a superior adversary, you have to be effective in every way possible. So, yeah, this tiny girl beating the Predator is absolutely hilarious, absolutely ridiculous and absolutely insulting and disrespecting against the original film and every real Predator fan!

its not so much the woman being the lead, as he stated some of the best leads have been women such as Ellen Ripley and Sarah Connor. the reason a lot of people were reserved and skeptical over it was, as he also said, laying it on thick of the "going against gender norms" schtick. there's been so much of that crap lately that any bit of that will immediately put people off, regardless of if its a small amount or not. Ripley and Sarah didn't go out of their way to be "look-at-me i'm trying to stand out because i don't like you telling me i can't do something" one was fighting to survive and the other was trying to prevent the literal downfall of society and went pretty much insane doing it. neither of them were trying to prove anything. that and the fact it's supposed to be set way back in the settler days from the looks of it, ya, women DIDN'T hunt. they took care of the stuff at home, while the men did the hunting and fighting.

@@anime4life209 it didn't bug me because it's really the only plausible explanation why she would be good at tracking/hunting. The tribe has the usual prejudice to what she should be like, she just doesn't want any part of it. It's a theme that's been used in stories forever. If people get mad just because it's a female doing it, that's their problem.
There are some big points I see missed often. The predator was incredibly injured during the final fight. It was behaving recklessly already when it got hurt early on in the movie. Main character definitely recognised that and was taking advantage of it. She is a physically small person who took any and all advantages available and did a stellar job of it.
I can’t wait to watch this. I think they should do more “basic” stories for Predator. They could go to different timelines. I read a book that has a compilation of short stories involving the Predators. They had a story that took place during either the Civil War or Revolutionary War where the Predator appeared and the lead solider had to survive and find a way to kill it. There’s several stories that take place during different times in history. That’s what the Predator series should be now!! :)

I was definitely getting tired of people trying to get this narrative in their head about the movie and the "why the Predator would go after a 100 pound girl" crap. Like have no one ever seen the original movies? The Predators fights with honor when needed and are willing to drop their gear for one on one fights or to be outsmarted by their prey, hell that's how we got the badass Yakuza vs Predator fight in Predators from 2010 (fuck I'm old!). I cannot wait for this on Friday and I hope we get more Predator movies set in the past.
@@GabesEdtiz right sorry, I'll be honest the best fight in the Predator franchise was the Yakuza vs Predator (Preddy fight!!! Dead Meat fans?) for me at least. That being said I would love a countdown of the best Predator moments in the franchise.
I absolutely loved it! This was a great movie for it to be a Hulu original. The cinematography was beautiful! It sets at number 2 on my list of the franchise.
What I liked a lot was how Naru figured out both the French trappers technology, and the Predator's. That girl really knows how to pay attention to detail.
Predator franchise is one of the most underrated out there. Has a niche following like the Mad Max films. Predator, Predator 2,and Predators are all well-received by core fans with 89%-92% likes from Google users.
From what I remember Arnold (Dutch) defeats the predator because of ingenuity and luck. At the end of the fight he tries to lure the Predator into a trap (the spikes) the Predator doesn't go for it and goes around. He happens to be standing underneath the hanging log, which allows Dutch to win. Arnold emotes the scene with a look of being defeated, transitioning to hope when he realized he had a chance of defeating it. The Predator could have moved to a different location, it just happened to move to the one directly under the log (luck).
(Spoiler) Her Brother did a hell of a lot of damage with that spear. Along with what she did to his head! I think this might be the most damage I have seen a Predator take. That Bear fight was brutal!
Huh, wasn’t sure what to expect from this film after watching the first trailer, but this review actually gives me some enthusiasm, especially as a major Predator fan, so perhaps I’ll check it out. Also totally random, but can I just point out how there’s a huge missed opportunity to name a Predator sequel “Predator: Thrill of the Hunt.” Come on, tell me that title wouldn’t sell!
Fair critique of the film and I would agree with you overall. For me I would add one more thing to the BAD. The English dialog took something away from the movie. I would've preferred Indian with English subtitles. 👍
This gives me hope for the hellraiser remake I was skeptical because of it going straight to streaming and the budget but now I see the positive reviews for prey so far I have more hope.
I have one what was the comanche living in Canada at that time period. Because the comanche are from the staked plains of Oklahoma and Texas panhandle and western range.
WOW!! A+prey was incredible my goodness what a ride my heart-rate is rocking with adrenaline!! What an adrenaline dump i absolutely loved the film and how it ties into predator 1 and 2 this is by far the best predator more brutal than the original A+ 5 stars
It's an interesting time period and the film is great, but the idea is far from being "unique". unique /juːˈniːk/ adjective being the only one of its kind; unlike anything else. Might wanna brush up on your English, buddy.

Hollywood has no idea how to do an actually strong female character. They try to make them the strongest and bestest from the jump which doesn’t work. There has to be a journey into becoming the strong character. I haven’t seen this movie yet but I can tell you the best way to go about this is to have the lead start off as somewhat scared of battle not fearless. It would be way better to force her into a situation she doesn’t want to be in and watch her evolve into a badass.
Despite Dutch outwitting the predator in the original movie, he still got his ass kicked in the final fight. He got hit and tossed around like a rag doll. Kinda hard to imagine a 100lbs skinny girl taking a hit from a predator. Her head would come flying off. So unless the predator never lands a hit on her, it’s kind of a stretch. However, I still really want to watch this cause I am a huge predator fan.
I really enjoy the way u can break down a movie without inherent bias. I can't for the life of me understand why the subscriber count hasn't skyrocketed yet. I love Jeremy Jahns, but even he oftentimes only delves into only the surface level of the plot
I loved this freaking movie and think it makes Arnold (Dutch) from the first movie look like a Mary Sue. They just told us Arnold was a badass. This movie showed us this woman was a badass.

Did you know that there isn't a short alien name Yoda that utilizes a mystical force to levitate objects? No action movies are plausible regardless of whether the hero is male or female. Did you enjoy John Wick? Well newsflash, Keanu Reeves isn't actually an assassin that can kill multiple people with a handgun and martial arts skills.

My comment was about how the video said that defeating the predator was due to smarts and not that Dutch was a physically strong character. And while Dutch does use a lot of smarts and tactics, he ALSO relied on his tremendous physical strength. Nothing about what I said is a take on how believable or realistic the movie is. In fact though, the strength of Dutch is very believable. Arnold was extremely massive and strong.
You’re absolutely right. When they try to go bigger than the original it usually flops. That’s why I also think that Top Gun Maverick works so well, it’s a character film with the right amounts of action without too much crazy and out there effects.

The fact that people liked this film so much is more of a testament to how bad Shane Black messed up the last one. Anything is better than that. But the "new to Earth" theory butts up against the storyline introduced in AVP which I consider a better movie than this one. There is no story that explains how Naru can beat up a camp full of grown men in hand-to-hand combat. And the dialogue was so ridiculous. The Camanche sounded like a bunch suburban white kids from 2022 not Natives from the 1700's. Hell, not even Europeans from the 1700's.
Honestly, I love this movie. It's even better than the original Predator movie. One of my favorite movies of the year so far. Amber Midthunder is great in it, even better than she was in Legion (a show that everyone needs to have seen).
I’m excited to watch this BUT MAN, do I wish it was in theaters instead of Hulu. It’s a shame that Alien and Predator content will be on Hulu instead of in theaters smh

Really liked Prey and while it's too soon to determine where it stands in the overall franchise. It definitely redeems the series after the godawful fourth Predator film from 2018. I thought Midthunder did a great job and I liked the film's back-to-basics approach. A very good prequel/sequel that I look forward to revisiting.
No, they definitely Mary Sue her. She’s 100 lbs and she’s able to beat her own tribesmen. The only way that guy overpowers her is by sucker punching her. Also where did she learn to fight hand to hand? Since no one in the tribe took her seriously about her fighting then she must’ve trained herself or at the very least her brother but that doesn’t mean she can run through a camp of like 6 dudes and murder them. The traps she sets up for the predator were dumb and purely coincidental. Unlike Dutch’s, he actually lured the predator in and would openly attack and flee. She just ran near her traps and the predator happily jumped into them. And plus, Arnold got his ass whopped. Arnold had to improvise that last trap because the predator stepped around it. A lot of the reviews I see for this film ignore obvious tropes, plot holes, and contrivances in the story. All because we want a good predator movie and I agree it was good. But you can literally get rid of her and it won’t change the quality of the film. That’s a bad protagonist lol

When you have some bigger/male opponent that arguably has the same amount of experience, that guy will win. They gave her plot armor because it’s part of the girl power movement. They did it to themselves when they choose a 5’2 that barely weighs 100 lbs as their protagonist. It’s going to look ridiculous and it was. Edit: they didn’t want to damage her? The dude pulled her to the ground and was ready to elbow her in the face which he conveniently missed. Then sumo plexes her, which she is fine from. Come on man really?
The reason I found this movie near unwatchable was the amount of plot armor the main character had. And I know the whole point of the movie is that people underestimate women who break gender roles but she seemed to be the only thing in the whole movie the predator didn’t seem to care about killing. He would let her go cut to a scene of her going John Wick style on a whole group of hunters. Not to mention that while she is smart some of the things she can tell about the predator seems as if she read the script for this movie or watched any of the other 6 movies featuring the predator

I know most people disagree with me on this, but Predator 2 is my favorite there is something about it the others lack. Now I haven't seen Prey yet just downloaded it and will watch it today most likely. No matter what it has to be better then that dumpster fire that was The Predator.
After the studio messed with The Predator there's no way Prey will be close to that jumbled mess. Shane Black should get to release his version of The Predator and maybe it actually made sense.
Predator is definitely my favorite sci-fi horror franchise (and I'm including the AVP movies). I thought this was a really good sequel. I love where they went with it. It honestly makes me wish there'd be more movies with the Predators hunting warriors from less technologically advanced cultures, like vikings or samurai, but that could also get repetitive. I have to disagree with the "going against gender norms" criticism being too heavy handed. I think it was the perfect set up for why she's the protagonist, and given the culture it's really the only way it would make sense for her to be the one to take on the Predator. It was a good story to make her presence relevant. And many Indigenous tribes had female warriors. It's just this particular tribe didn't think she could do it. And you can kinda see why? Early in the film, she wasn't portrayed as a great hunter. She messed up a few times. I don't feel like she was trying to fight against gender norms. If that was the case, they wouldn't have let her hunt or take the hunter test at all. It would've been a straight no. Her whole, "I wanna hunt because yall think I can't" didn't feel to me like she was fighting against gender norms. It seemed more like she was just fighting against being underestimated because, again, she showed earlier on she wasn't a great hunter. But she was determined to be one and succeeded. I think that's a great message, especially for young girls today. And young boys, for that matter. My only real gripe with the movie was the final fight with the Predator. It felt way too short. Would've liked that fleshed out a little bit more, kind of like in the original. I hope you're gonna include the two AVP films in the ranking of the Predator franchise. I'm looking forward to it.
Easy 7/10. There were some things that I didn't like... and then they did those things again... and again. But I really enjoyed the visuals, environments & setting.
I hear this will be on D+ internationally, so that's a plus otherwise I wouldn't have been able to see it. I made some comments on Sean's previous vid about this movie that got some push back, and I understand why, but knocking down peoples opinion on a movie when they haven't been able to see it yet and you have is a little ... overbearing perhaps? All we had to go on were teasers and a trailer, so yeah we had to try and fill in the blanks and if we got that wrong then great. As a huge Predator fan I WANT a good movie, I WANT the thrill and excitement back I felt when watching the first two of the franchise and I will certainly be watching this when it hits D+ in the UK.
I think the reason her being a bit “forced” is because they used a great setting for it. It wasn’t a present day “girls run the world”, so its highly believable she would get held back and mistreated by the male hunters. I need to rewatch since my eyes were shutting down by the time I decided to watch it, but from going back and forth rewinding, its a SOLID film. Will rewatch no problem.

Theres an awesome bear scene, a couple of cool kills/toys moments too actually, but the rest is just boring and trash. And they telegraph the ending pretty early, or at least in part like they would in a kids movie. This is my argument/s. What made the first one awesome to me was a bunch of stupidly muscular beefcakes with cigars and deadly AF weapons all getting owned by the Predator. It was a violent, blood bath, horror movie basically. Thats the vibe that made it awesome. It wasnt a bunch of school girls on a field trip for a some reason. Sigourney was perfect in Aliens. And then there is the Terminator as he mentions. These movies years and years earlier actually genuinely broke the mould, for the right reason, in a fantastic, unforced way. But this was not that. This was grrrl power vs a Predator, a Predator which also just tore a freakin brown bear to pieces. She didnt fit here. And when you have the teenager saying herself, it didnt kill me because I wasnt a threat.. well.. yeah. Shes basically admitting she would have been destroyed if she wasnt so useless when the Predator saw her. PC culture has to realise that those of us who loved these movies were championing female leads like these 30+ years ago. Never in my life have I heard someone say that Aliens would have been so much better if it didnt have a silly woman in it. Sigorney made that movie and we loved it. But people are definitely saying that about movies like Prey.. why is that? Because its sooo forced it ruins the movie and shits on a franchise. And lastly, who was this movie for? The young tennage females/Predator fans. They dont exist. Being set in a different time was a cool idea with great potential too I thought..
Haven’t seen it yet can’t wait! So hyped! The original was the best so far, but I think in order for this franchise to be better if it does what Assassins Creed does. Take place in different periods of time on earth.

I couldn’t disagree more about it being heavy-handed over the protagonist being female. I don’t recall them ever discouraging her from hunting on the basis that she was a girl. It seemed to me that it was because she was young.
I have only seen 3 predator movies and i love the predator 10 years ol seeing avp 11 in sep predators than dags later 2018 predator my ranking Numbers 3 the predator garbade Numbers 2 when it was a fun movie Numbers 1 predators its great i love the beserker pred.

Thats why everytime someone says something about her size im like you clearly didnt understand the first 2 films.

What I liked a lot was how Naru figured out both the French trappers technology, and the Predator's. That girl really knows how to pay attention to detail.

Predator franchise is one of the most underrated out there. Has a niche following like the Mad Max films. Predator, Predator 2,and Predators are all well-received by core fans with 89%-92% likes from Google users.
Amber midthunder was one of the leads on Leigon and was also fantastic in that role
From what I remember Arnold (Dutch) defeats the predator because of ingenuity and luck. At the end of the fight he tries to lure the Predator into a trap (the spikes) the Predator doesn't go for it and goes around. He happens to be standing underneath the hanging log, which allows Dutch to win. Arnold emotes the scene with a look of being defeated, transitioning to hope when he realized he had a chance of defeating it. The Predator could have moved to a different location, it just happened to move to the one directly under the log (luck).
Just watched it and it was great! Here is how I would rank the Predator movies.

Also, by the time the Predator starts hunting her he is already pretty beat up.
(Spoiler) Her Brother did a hell of a lot of damage with that spear. Along with what she did to his head! I think this might be the most damage I have seen a Predator take. That Bear fight was brutal!

Huh, wasn’t sure what to expect from this film after watching the first trailer, but this review actually gives me some enthusiasm, especially as a major Predator fan, so perhaps I’ll check it out. Also totally random, but can I just point out how there’s a huge missed opportunity to name a Predator sequel “Predator: Thrill of the Hunt.” Come on, tell me that title wouldn’t sell!

This gives me hope for the hellraiser remake I was skeptical because of it going straight to streaming and the budget but now I see the positive reviews for prey so far I have more hope.

WOW!! A+prey was incredible my goodness what a ride my heart-rate is rocking with adrenaline!! What an adrenaline dump i absolutely loved the film and how it ties into predator 1 and 2 this is by far the best predator more brutal than the original A+ 5 stars

It really was a surprisingly good Predator movie. Sucks that some critics have to nitpick every little thing to suck all the enjoyment out of it.
How sensitive is infrared view. How cold does your body have to be to blend in to the environment. Can your body survive such a drop in temperature?
I thought it was a solid movie for sure. I’m to the point though of wanting to learn more about this alien race and their fascination with earth.
I haven’t watched this yet but I’d bet my life that Comanche warriors wouldn’t even flinch at an 8 foot tall predator.

Hollywood has no idea how to do an actually strong female character. They try to make them the strongest and bestest from the jump which doesn’t work. There has to be a journey into becoming the strong character. I haven’t seen this movie yet but I can tell you the best way to go about this is to have the lead start off as somewhat scared of battle not fearless. It would be way better to force her into a situation she doesn’t want to be in and watch her evolve into a badass.
This one did that archetype justice.
Despite Dutch outwitting the predator in the original movie, he still got his ass kicked in the final fight. He got hit and tossed around like a rag doll. Kinda hard to imagine a 100lbs skinny girl taking a hit from a predator. Her head would come flying off. So unless the predator never lands a hit on her, it’s kind of a stretch. However, I still really want to watch this cause I am a huge predator fan.

I loved this freaking movie and think it makes Arnold (Dutch) from the first movie look like a Mary Sue. They just told us Arnold was a badass. This movie showed us this woman was a badass.

Do I need to keep reminding people that this is a science fiction action movie? It's not intended to be plausible. It's intended to entertain. It's called artistic license. Did you know that there isn't a short alien name Yoda that utilizes a mystical force to levitate objects? No action movies are plausible regardless of whether the hero is male or female. Did you enjoy John Wick? Well newsflash, Keanu Reeves isn't actually an assassin that can kill multiple people with a handgun and martial arts skills.

My comment was about how the video said that defeating the predator was due to smarts and not that Dutch was a physically strong character. And while Dutch does use a lot of smarts and tactics, he ALSO relied on his tremendous physical strength. Nothing about what I said is a take on how believable or realistic the movie is. In fact though, the strength of Dutch is very believable. Arnold was extremely massive and strong.

You’re absolutely right. When they try to go bigger than the original it usually flops. That’s why I also think that Top Gun Maverick works so well, it’s a character film with the right amounts of action without too much crazy and out there effects.

The fact that people liked this film so much is more of a testament to how bad Shane Black messed up the last one. Anything is better than that. But the "new to Earth" theory butts up against the storyline introduced in AVP which I consider a better movie than this one. There is no story that explains how Naru can beat up a camp full of grown men in hand-to-hand combat. And the dialogue was so ridiculous. The Camanche sounded like a bunch suburban white kids from 2022 not Natives from the 1700's. Hell, not even Europeans from the 1700's.
Simple Naru is also warrior just like Tabee & her tribe men, who has been asking for her trial in 5mins of the movie.
Honestly, I love this movie. It's even better than the original Predator movie. One of my favorite movies of the year so far. Amber Midthunder is great in it, even better than she was in Legion (a show that everyone needs to have seen).
I’m excited to watch this BUT MAN, do I wish it was in theaters instead of Hulu. It’s a shame that Alien and Predator content will be on Hulu instead of in theaters smh

Really liked Prey and while it's too soon to determine where it stands in the overall franchise. It definitely redeems the series after the godawful fourth Predator film from 2018. I thought Midthunder did a great job and I liked the film's back-to-basics approach.
A very good prequel/sequel that I look forward to revisiting.
Dan Trachtenberg is such a great director. Cant wait to check this out. Sucks it's not on the big screen, but better to have it then not at all.
No, they definitely Mary Sue her. She’s 100 lbs and she’s able to beat her own tribesmen. The only way that guy overpowers her is by sucker punching her. Also where did she learn to fight hand to hand? Since no one in the tribe took her seriously about her fighting then she must’ve trained herself or at the very least her brother but that doesn’t mean she can run through a camp of like 6 dudes and murder them. The traps she sets up for the predator were dumb and purely coincidental. Unlike Dutch’s, he actually lured the predator in and would openly attack and flee. She just ran near her traps and the predator happily jumped into them. And plus, Arnold got his ass whopped. Arnold had to improvise that last trap because the predator stepped around it. A lot of the reviews I see for this film ignore obvious tropes, plot holes, and contrivances in the story. All because we want a good predator movie and I agree it was good. But you can literally get rid of her and it won’t change the quality of the film. That’s a bad protagonist lol
Dude her tribesmen didnt want to kill her not even damage her they wanted to restrain her and take her home and she wasnt an untrained girl she and her brother were skillfull maybe their father trained them
@@jonathanmora8208 it’s the fact she took on an experienced hunter warrior who actually has success in hunting and being a warrior. You can train a hundred pound girl all you want. When you have some bigger/male opponent that arguably has the same amount of experience, that guy will win. They gave her plot armor because it’s part of the girl power movement. They did it to themselves when they choose a 5’2 that barely weighs 100 lbs as their protagonist. It’s going to look ridiculous and it was.

The reason I found this movie near unwatchable was the amount of plot armor the main character had. And I know the whole point of the movie is that people underestimate women who break gender roles but she seemed to be the only thing in the whole movie the predator didn’t seem to care about killing. He would let her go cut to a scene of her going John Wick style on a whole group of hunters. Not to mention that while she is smart some of the things she can tell about the predator seems as if she read the script for this movie or watched any of the other 6 movies featuring the predator
The 2 problems I have are that the blood looks awful at times and the way they kill predator is kinda offensive

I know most people disagree with me on this, but Predator 2 is my favorite there is something about it the others lack. Now I haven't seen Prey yet just downloaded it and will watch it today most likely. No matter what it has to be better then that dumpster fire that was The Predator.

After the studio messed with The Predator there's no way Prey will be close to that jumbled mess. Shane Black should get to release his version of The Predator and maybe it actually made sense.

Predator is definitely my favorite sci-fi horror franchise (and I'm including the AVP movies). I thought this was a really good sequel. I love where they went with it. It honestly makes me wish there'd be more movies with the Predators hunting warriors from less technologically advanced cultures, like vikings or samurai, but that could also get repetitive.
I have to disagree with the "going against gender norms" criticism being too heavy handed. I think it was the perfect set up for why she's the protagonist, and given the culture it's really the only way it would make sense for her to be the one to take on the Predator. It was a good story to make her presence relevant. And many Indigenous tribes had female warriors. It's just this particular tribe didn't think she could do it. And you can kinda see why? Early in the film, she wasn't portrayed as a great hunter. She messed up a few times.
I don't feel like she was trying to fight against gender norms. If that was the case, they wouldn't have let her hunt or take the hunter test at all. It would've been a straight no. Her whole, "I wanna hunt because yall think I can't" didn't feel to me like she was fighting against gender norms. It seemed more like she was just fighting against being underestimated because, again, she showed earlier on she wasn't a great hunter. But she was determined to be one and succeeded. I think that's a great message, especially for young girls today. And young boys, for that matter.
My only real gripe with the movie was the final fight with the Predator. It felt way too short. Would've liked that fleshed out a little bit more, kind of like in the original.
I hope you're gonna include the two AVP films in the ranking of the Predator franchise. I'm looking forward to it.

Easy 7/10. There were some things that I didn't like... and then they did those things again... and again. But I really enjoyed the visuals, environments & setting.

There are some movies that just pop up on my watch list for the year. This is one of them so I can't wait to watch it.
I hear this will be on D+ internationally, so that's a plus otherwise I wouldn't have been able to see it. I made some comments on Sean's previous vid about this movie that got some push back, and I understand why, but knocking down peoples opinion on a movie when they haven't been able to see it yet and you have is a little ... overbearing perhaps? All we had to go on were teasers and a trailer, so yeah we had to try and fill in the blanks and if we got that wrong then great. As a huge Predator fan I WANT a good movie, I WANT the thrill and excitement back I felt when watching the first two of the franchise and I will certainly be watching this when it hits D+ in the UK.

I think the reason her being a bit “forced” is because they used a great setting for it. It wasn’t a present day “girls run the world”, so its highly believable she would get held back and mistreated by the male hunters.
I need to rewatch since my eyes were shutting down by the time I decided to watch it, but from going back and forth rewinding, its a SOLID film. Will rewatch no problem.

Predators which I enjoyed was at the end of the day a poor man's version of the Original, which for me drops it below Predator 2.
You're spot on this review. Diologue is pretty bad . But the leas actress was good . The cinematagray is awesome and the kills are brutal.
Theres an awesome bear scene, a couple of cool kills/toys moments too actually, but the rest is just boring and trash. And they telegraph the ending pretty early, or at least in part like they would in a kids movie. This is my argument/s. What made the first one awesome to me was a bunch of stupidly muscular beefcakes with cigars and deadly AF weapons all getting owned by the Predator. It was a violent, blood bath, horror movie basically. Thats the vibe that made it awesome. It wasnt a bunch of school girls on a field trip for a some reason. Sigourney was perfect in Aliens. And then there is the Terminator as he mentions. These movies years and years earlier actually genuinely broke the mould, for the right reason, in a fantastic, unforced way. But this was not that. This was grrrl power vs a Predator, a Predator which also just tore a freakin brown bear to pieces. She didnt fit here. And when you have the teenager saying herself, it didnt kill me because I wasnt a threat.. well.. yeah. Shes basically admitting she would have been destroyed if she wasnt so useless when the Predator saw her. PC culture has to realise that those of us who loved these movies were championing female leads like these 30+ years ago. Never in my life have I heard someone say that Aliens would have been so much better if it didnt have a silly woman in it. Sigorney made that movie and we loved it. But people are definitely saying that about movies like Prey.. why is that? Because its sooo forced it ruins the movie and shits on a franchise. And lastly, who was this movie for? The young tennage females/Predator fans. They dont exist. Being set in a different time was a cool idea with great potential too I thought..
But Dutch did beat the predator with force. He lifted that log that took down the predator
