When the Ravens drafted LJ, I said he'd be a star in this league some day. The look in his eyes told me all I needed to know about the kid. He's got that fire in him you can't extinguish. Criticism is his fuel. His attitude, work ethic, and excellent support system in Baltimore will enable him to maximize his potential and ultimately lead the Ravens to their 3rd sb victory. Lifelong fan hear. I will happily eat the crow if it happens. I wasn't sold on him. Even last year was underwhelming. He didn't exactly light it up despite facing a lot of very bad defenses and he fumbled a ton. And the first team to get a second look at him shut him down completely for three and a half quarters in the playoffs until what was essentially garbage time and prevent defense.
However, he has taken a huge step ahead this year and I'm glad he has done it. I assume plenty of others feel the same. The idea that fans not buying into him was about racism is utter insanity. Look at the most popular Ravens players ever. How many Ravens fans do you know who don't like Ray Lewis or Ed Reed? It was about Lamar being overhyped. But he has gone on to prove himself in a big way in 2019 and I hope it continues for years to come.
