After being away from Dreamweaver for several years I was pleased to have found your tutorials. Your teaching style has been a tremendous help in bringing me back to this program.

Back in the late 90's and early 2000's I was using Front Page to create web pages for our internal network.
I recently wanted to make some pages for a database solution I'm working on.
Everything was so complicated!!!
People told me. Use Dreamweaver. I opened it and was lost despite being proficient in Photo Shop and Illustrator.
This short video turned on the light bulb for me. It's about as simple as old Front Page webpage building at least for the simple pages I want to make.

OMG! So it basically builds a website without having to know anything about html or css. It pretty much does everything for you, right? OMG!!! I am speechless. I''ve been having a pretty difficult time learning CSS. But this program makes it easy to create websites.
Dreamweaver is the first WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) html editor. You may like my recent videos about "Nicepage". It is even easier than Dreamweaver.

5.52 To select the top row and merge , you need to be in Design view, not Live view in Dreamweaver.

I don't really use Dreamweaver much, and I'm having a lot of problems with this. I'm only 5 mins into the video and having issues selecting the top row of the table to merge the cells. I've noticed yours has black outlines to show the cells, however mine doesn't. I can only select one cell at a time. Can you please advise?

Hello! I am a beginner learner myself and don’t know if you have solved this issue yet but all you have to do is you have to be in design mode. On the top of the screen you will see: Code, Split, and a drop down menu that either says lice or design. Click on the design button and you should be able to see the table borders.
Live not lice lmao
Select Design View, not Live View. Then you'll be able to follow the instructions.

I know ps il pr au an and in since decades but dw always frustrated me. I watched several videos, sometimes smt didnt work, or it was too extensive, to slow whatever. I tried occasionally since 2 years, and i actually know html, css,java since 2005...

Hello Master Kim, I am writing to you from Bogotá. I am a good Graphic Designer and I have been using programs such as Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop, etc. very well for 2 decades and I have tried unsuccessfully to enter the world of Web page design. Many have told me to try Wix, WordPress, Blogger, Weebly, etc. but when I try them, some are so simple that they limit me greatly in design and others are so full of code that they end up completely discouraging me. Therefore, I ask you: If I am a graphic designer with experience in photography, design concepts, color, and artistic illustration, is there a program like Illustrator or Photoshop that allows me to concentrate more on free design and forget about code? I saw your two Dreamweaver tutorials which make me a little hopeful, but do you think the best option is to continue with Dreamwaver? Or maybe you know another program that you think suits what I'm looking for? Thank you very much for your kind attention Master.

Hi Prof, I have been using older version of Dreamweaver CS5.5 and I have been working using classic ASP and also .net.
As now the newer Dreamweaver have removed those options - is there any plugin or ways of creating this using newer Dreaweaver?
Hi Prof Kim, Sorry to bother you, I have being trying create a clickable area on my image using map, but when i click on my image the map disapears on the property tab and when I use split option and click on the image on the code it re-appear but when I click it is not responsive, I have hold down shift and try all kind of thing but I just can understand what I am doing wrong. DO you have any idea of what I am doing wrong?

Ive tried and tried highlighting the top cell. Go to table, but the merge is not highlighted. Im working in Dreamweaver 2021. Does that matter?

Once you are done with your website, how do you get it on the web?
You will need to purchase your domain name and server to upload your files. GoDaddy.com, hostgater.com, web.com,...etc

It's 2023 and you're teaching people to use tables to layout the elements on the page. That's not right, we have CSS flexbox and grid for that. What if you need to make the layout responsive, that's a nightmare to do with tables.

Haha~great question. Well…I guess Adobe has tried to put so many features on Dreamweaver. Many people think that DW is too complicated, even though it is very powerful tool.
Sorry, but this would be a nightmare for screen reader users. It's definitely not accessible. Not to mention, this probably looks horrible on mobile and possibly tablet devices. Tables should not be used for layout. That was deprecated many, many, many years ago. This is a bad habit and a bad practice.
Learn how to use CSS for positioning and responsiveness. I recommend looking into CSS grid if you want to use a table-like structure for a site. People, if you are watching this, thinking this is good information, you are setting yourself up for failure.
Businesses, you may be setting yourself up for a lawsuit, too.
Honestly, I can't believe I'm seeing this in 2023.
Tables are for tabular data only. We stopped designing websites like this in the 1990s. This is ridiculous. Professor? I wonder....TH-cam is just so full of nonsense. These people will believe this is how a website is designed now. You could have used a template from Dreamweaver and at least this would have produced a usable website.
