Mid-late 90's was the best music scene of my life. Im 37 now and still pulling up these amazing bands on my ipod regularly. Mineral in Los Angeles in October!
This show was on 3rd my birthday, haha. Now i'm going to go see them in Cleveland at a sold out show on my 19th birthday! I used to watch this video (and still do) constantly over and over in just complete awe of the REAL emo scene of the time, and the just raw emotion that can be captured by a video camera. You could tell that kid up against the wall was TRULY passionately feeling the shit out of it all. Cheers!
check out your local punk scene. hopefully it isn't as booze-ridden as a lot of them are nowadays. you want true passion? srsly. go to a local punk show. everyone's pissed (sad?) about something, whether it be government, parents, lovers, w/e.

This song and performance from 15 years ago is the perfect example of why rock and the music industry in general is dead. You will never see another wave of bands like Mineral/Promise ring/Cap'n Jazz/JoanofArc again. It makes me sad that this period of music is over and that it happened so long ago. I'm 30 now, and hearing and seeing this video makes me feel so much older.
I can't speak for my generation but as a 19yo aspiring musician who has found himself through 90s emo I would personally love to create that exact kind of music with the same rawness but in todays day and age.

You know I did get this video off Google videos. I've been a huge Mineral fan since I first heard them in 1999. I found that video and thought it needed to be shared. Full credit goes to you my friend.

Yeah, if you look at band band pictures on the Crank! Records site, it appears he used a Hamer guitar with a Marshall JCM800 or 900 head into a Bogner cab.
its a Hamer Sunburst (sparkly gold PRS looking guitar),With a seymour duncan in the bridge I think (its zebra striped),and I think its a JCM 800 ampwise, not sure of cab though. hope this helps.
If you were asking me that, I'm the guy with the long hair standing in front of (technically, immediately to the right of) the guy in all white with the white backwards baseball cap.
