    Hello Ward, I am so happy that you made this video. I am a disabled Air Force Vet (enlisted - ELINT), I can't fly anymore (penguin) and your video was the first time I had seen the Next Level Racing Flight Simulator Cockpit and the Thrustmaster TPR Pedals. I bought both and I have to say I am very pleased that I did. I am very active in Flight Sims again and this has had a huge positive impact on my life. Thanks so much. Take care.

    DCS is pure fantasy for most of us. Sim-pits and all the add-ons really let you get your geek on. It is refreshing to see someone that has truly "been there, done that" enjoy getting just as nerdy as we mere mortals. LOL! Thanks for sharing!

    Very cool. It is insane to me how quickly (relatively speaking) we have advanced to this point in technology. I remember playing Jane's USNF in the mid 90s and seeing the Tomcat created out of like 12 triangles, using just a mouse and keyboard to fly it. Now we have full on, consumer ready sim-pits and graphics that basically match real life. Just insane.

    • @iankphone
      @iankphone ปีที่แล้ว +14

      F-15 Strike Eagle on the Commodore 64. Ground targets were triangles. Aircraft were slightly different triangles, in the sky.
      But a 1mhz 8bit CPU with 64k of RAM doesn't have much headroom for stunning visuals. ;-)

    Awesome. I have the very same one, just bought it two weeks ago and put it together last weekend. Paired it with a 48" Aorus 4K monitor and using the Thrustmaster rudders, A 10 stick & throttle. I absolutely love it - super experience. Next up will be a Winwing Top Gun MIP to create a more effective work environment where I have to rely less on mouse for data entry and manipulating the DDIs/AMPCD functionality. I think Next Level Racing has an absolute winner on their hands with this sim pit. Thanks for sharing your experience...

    WOW! This is really impressive, Mooch. This really brings me back to memories when I used to rig a desktop back in ‘98 with ‘DID’s EF 2000’ combat flight sim. My dad custom made an acrylic mount to screw together to the desktop to place an F-18 stick on center. This (and the price…) is making me reconsider coming back to $plurging. Whenever you have to secure stuff with zip ties, consider glueing strong magnet underneath. For instance, magnet underneath the aluminum support which your throttle quadrant goes onto, would attract the steel frame of your throttle. I had the Thrustmaster Cougar in the past, and it was made out of steel so I assume the same on your model meaning magnet sticks on this. It s an elegant method to secure stuff in place. No more an isusue though with your new rig. Enjoy!

    • @Wikkus
      @Wikkus ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Potential gotcha with that is that most modern HOTAS setups, including the TM Warthog, use Hall-effect sensors, so placing powerful magnets anywhere near would likely be a major problem.

    Love this. Thanks for showing it to us. I have it on my wish list on Amazon but I do not think I can afford it. Very nice setup.

    The only thing missing was the ejection seat handles plus safety pins with red remove before flight tag. Or a ‘armed’ sock to place over the joystick. Lol

    I did this the Red Green way and saved a $hit ton of money. A desk, an end table and a couple of milk crates and I save 800 bucks. It all seems the same in VR.
