Dahil pandemic po hindi kami nakauwi sa pinas at hindi namin na e renew ang Acr card nya. Ngayong 2023 lang kami nakauwi .nagpunta kami sa Immigration kailangan daw naming mag file ng motion of consideration para hindi ma terminate ang permanent visa ng asawa ko. I tried applying for a 13a while in the USA. The doctors would not do anything for the medical exam because it gave no detail of what it required and they were too honorable to falsify something z( or give the impression). I did it here and the doctor literally did nothing and signed the papers.
@philam1973 Thank you for this comment. Am in Florida and may seriously consider using the balikbayan visa while waiting to get a 13a in the Philippines.
@@jsully4064 just remember if you are on a balikbayan visa you can’t leave the country by yourself or you come back as a tourist. A return with your spouse resets the 1 year. Funny, the “visa stamp” for balikbayan is the same as tourist ( i think) with a handwritten “bb” in the middle.
@@philam1973 Just looked at my old passport and do not see any stamp for the balikbayan, maybe my wife receives the visa stamp, am not sure, but do remember what the immigration officer told me if I leave the country and come back by myself will only be entitled to the limits of the tourist visa.

He wants to stay for at least a year, and during then, he said he wants us to get married. However he doesn't want a permanent resident because we would be traveling to Japan together with my son and stay in Japan for a year or so.. basically just becoming Digital Nomad family... So.. Can we do this? Can we still marry even if he doesn't really want the Permanent Residency? Most likely our main country would be USA still, like he would bring us to the USA eventually.
@CrimsonLadyVT He does not have to get a 13a visa. If he enters the country through a port of entry with his Filipina spouse he can get in the Philippines with a balikbayan visa which is good for one year, no charge. If he enters the country separately from you then he will only be eligible for the tourist visa.

@UNKNOWN-un6nz My Filipina wife doesnt think so (and she has a US green card-alien permanent residency). She still has a Filipino passport and Filipino immigration has never said anything to her when entering the country. Now the immigration website says if a Filipino citizen is outside the country for more than a year (doesnt matter why, OFW or green card in US) the website says the Filipino citizen needs to reaffirm their loyalty or something like that. Don't think that is enforced that much.
Hi, Im a permanent resident in the US for over 10 years with Philippone passport. I'm a nomad and knew that I wouldnt stay in US for the rest of my life. My husband who is US citizen plan to have Philippines as one of our home base country. We want to visit for 6 months as vacation to see if this country is a good fit for us . And if i end up getting pregnant sooner than expected, we want our child to experience early childhood in PH. As a philippine passport holder and american resident , Im not sure if its necessary for me to get a balikbayan visa. At the same time Id rather have balikbayan visa so my husband can have balikbayan visa for a year. And if thats the case, is it possible to transfer from balikbayan visa to 13a visa later on down the road? @Your_Lawyer

If he comes to the Philippines separately he will only be entitled to a 30 day tourist visa. If he is in the Philippines and leaves the Philippines while under the balikbayan visa and comes back to the Philippines by himself, he will only be entitled to the benefits of the tourist visa...30 days
Note: The spousal visa is available only to citizens of a country which grants permanent residence and immigration privileges to Philippine citizens.

I obtained my probationary 13A from the Baguio office and it was a much simpler process, all being done quickly just by turning up.

Same situation po. Which office did you enquire po? Pano po kayo nakabalik sa Pinas? With his expired ACR card?
Sa Cebu Immigration po. Nakapasok siya as tourist na ang na stamp sa passport niya.

As with most things in Ph…way TOO MUCH paper work. Will stay retired in Thailand with my filapina wife…and simply visit Ph when n the mood 😂.

@BearBuilder89 Its very difficult to get a divorce in the Philippines. You can get one in the US if you two marry in the US.
