Would origins version have the shoulder cannon and unique looking beam rifle or just a slightly better gramps that it would be the Perfect Gundam at home meme?
The Gundam should have the bazooka as a sub weapon it should also have the beam javelin as another melee option plus give it the same dowswing PG has for single beam saber like some people have mentioned
@@palladiamorsdeus with how the game has changed it definitely needs a back melee and range weapon in some capacity it doesn't have to excel over other variations like you said but just to give it something to help it out.
Petition to rework grandad to have dual beam sabers, javelin/hammer, bazooka backup weapon, better walk and boost speeds. And also maneuver armour/forced injectors (idk if it has these already) and just a complete re-work in general. Like, it’s literally THE Gundam. Wake up BB.
I've always felt that the OG Gundam should be one of the strongest suits in its cost. The original series makes it clear on several occasions how overbearingly powerful this suit is. Zeon forces literally called it the white devil out of fear.
I feel like the easiest way to buff Gramps outside of damage boosts is to give him the option to use both beam sabers as a sub-weapon and allow a downswing while jumping (like the High Boost GM)
Its statistic bias at this point and a huge indicator of how bad their balancing is. Only fans of Grandpa play Grandpa and those people are good enough to drag the stats upwards into at least a neutral position. I don't really see that changing any time soon.
It's survivorship bias to an extent. The worst suits will never be adjusted because no one but the most diehard uses them and therefore barely show up on usage rates.
The Grandpa suits are hurting hard…..the Proto, the 78-2, AND the G-3 are all hurting at every cost they exist at yet nothing is done to make them better.
Proto does have a pretty good melee, but for a suit that doesnt have stealth or anything its ranged weapons cant really support it worth a damn outside of attacking lone supports
This (and a hectic work life) are the exact reasons i dropped this game months ago. I understand the Devs wanting this game to be a way pf giving other units some spotlight, but there is a difference between giving other suits a chance to shine and keeping the "famous" ones average or gatekeepers to new players, and utterly disrespecting the literal FACE of the entire franchise letting it be one of the WORST suits ever. At this rate i honestly think the gramps would have a hard time even in 350 costs, hell, maybe even at 300. This is borderline offensive
Thats what im saying! For the earth federations close combat mobile suit its very underwhelming in melee. No double sabers, and only a combo controller level 1? Man.. they hate the gundam so much.
@@palladiamorsdeus and you are okay with the gundam being worse than established canon, because its balanced as its right now? Then what if we gave it controller lvl 2 and double sabers and bumped its cost rating up 1 tier? I agree that an amount of balance must be considered cause it is a game as opposed to canon, but when its outdone by other general suits in melee capability at the same cost, just what is this mobile suit at this point? Furthermore, we have a lot of examples of suits that play one way but are not that role (suits with support setups that have general typing). So its not otherwise abnormal to just give it lvl 2 controller. I mean it barely has any skills attached to it in the first place, i see no reason not to give it the double sabers which it obviously has, and one extra melee swing. But thats just me and my opinion. Its worth the discussion at least.
I feel like this suit is made so that you need to be pretty well versed in the fundamentals of gbo2 to use it, but that idea falls flat with the dull vulcans, and limited as hell weaponry. I get of not wanting to bastardize the suit by making it absurdly OP, but they could certainly do more to give it some unique features. No excuse now especially with what we got with the EX gundam, love that suit, but shows that theres more they can do for the grandad than what they ended up with.
Practice practice practice. You can use the stronger suits out of the box but for most suits it's a matter of learning them. Que into quick matches and just keep mashing them out. The Gundam itself isn't particularly hard to use. It's long to mid range with a rifle is decent but most of your heavy lifting is going to be done with that two hit melee combo. Bazooka does better for more consistent stuns from close range and doesn't have the charge time but the basic beam rifle only has a two second charge which is good for this cost. Napalm launcher is a watered down version of both at once, smaller explosive round magazine and a longer charge time. You got this. Go forth and do Grandpa Gundam proud!
So sad but i’ve had better matches with the gm ll than gramps😭Hyper hammer is really fun but is so hard to really have a good match and enjoy fighting the aqua and metal spider.
Hear me out, buff Fa gundam, Fa gubdam (TB,) Maybe the Stein, it really gets railed hy goid Xi and Penelope players, but i guess most people should be excited for the bew map 🎉
Doesn't really count as a buff, since it seems to be a straight upgrade in every way but lacking the hammer, and likely broken. But that's the current problem: about half of the new suits have extreme power creep, and there is very little love for older units even when they do get buffs. We've got a roster with about 500 units, and a handful are ridiculously strong in any given cost, while the older units often can't even get reliable weapons and skills that have become common. Like, look at the Jesta, which is actually in a better place than many older suits. It relies completely on a clunky Active Guard and MA, while something the the Proto Zeta X1 has two dodges, a much better active guard, great weapons, and is 100 points lower. Why even use Jesta when Lv2 Geara Doga Kai has far more weapons and a much better Active Guard, and doesn't even suffer from a lack of ranged power. It's only slightly worse in downswing damage, but has two melee weapons and a heavy stagger wire with more reach than most. It's like every two weeks they release another OP unit. It gets balanced out through some buffs over 2-4 months, and just happens again. Yonghwavin has amazing funnels, lots of ranged options, can use all the funnels at once, and gets MA, Flap Boosters, and a huge stat boost at 50% HP. But the Quebely 50 points up is still very basic in comparison, and can't use multiple funnels of deal as much melee damage, despite being THE funnel suit 50 points higher. Almost every cost has a few units that are just better than most everything else, or at least has so many good units of a certain type that one class is far less viable.

Let us hope that this suit can get the buffs it needs. It could barely even keep up with it's own cost.
Society if gramps got good walkmods and 195-200 hsm and nu vulcans with an insta stun sub
This and GM III needs some buff.
Most of gm’s need buffs😭
@@Dr.pp4256i will say that most of them are fine but still need buff cuz the only gm i play is semi striker and i never really see people play gm

Poor Grampa
Probably saving all the power for the origins gundam.

@dynomight3855 depends on which version they'd take, but the shoulder cannon ones more interesting than the final battle version
The Gundam should have the bazooka as a sub weapon it should also have the beam javelin as another melee option plus give it the same dowswing PG has for single beam saber like some people have mentioned
And it should have a dual saber option. The other Gundam variants should be better with their versions but old Grandad should be able to use it all.

I say give the Gundam the Perfect Gundam's downswing as a heavy attack. And give it the ability to purge its shield to use dual sabers.

doesnt help the aqua dominance has basically made any other melee bluezook obsolete at 400.
this needs a buff so badly, especially with the ex gundam coming to 400
Playing with it feels like how Amuro felt using it at the end of the one year war

Damn, then my beloved Powered GM won't ever get buffed if this is true. I saw gigachad using it on 450 and clapped enemy hard.
I seriously wonder why the Gundam can't throw it's hyper hammer and it explodes on contact
That should seriously be a sub weapon option for the hyper hammer.
Excellent work. Living up to the legend of the White Devil!
Remember guys, Gundam EX dropping at 400 so we're getting a cooler grandpa now

Poor gramps is gonna be even more irrelevant when 400 cost just becomes 12 Gundam EXs
That made me violently ill.
@@palladiamorsdeus Well if you're a steam only enjoy 400-500 while you can. And maybe have fun with God Gundam in 700 if you have them tokens saved up

Anti Blast and double dodge roll for starts
Char at it again with taking Amuro's Gundam. Seems he forgot to paint it red.
