Great video Michael! Thanks for posting an actually useful review that demonstrates the positives and perhaps more importantly, the negatives of these cheaper ebikes. Too many TH-camrs are biased in their reviews and don't properly test the bikes or expose their flaws before gushing praise on the product, often because the manufacturer has sent them the bike for free.
I feel that the TH-cam community is often blamed for biases, and for sure such kind of things exist. But ... If we think about the regular media that most people trust... I can assure you that (undisclosed) conflicts of interest are way more shocking. Many folks are rushing their videos because of the algorithm. Some are simply careless. Some - with very low ethics standards. I try to be as transparent as possible, and as helpful as possible. And am really glad to see quality comments like yours - it is the best kind of reward. ♥️ As for PVY - I hope they will step up.their game with quality control and communication.
Very comprehensive review, thank you for your work. I previously purchased a Z20 PLUS from PVY, Great shopping experience, although I encountered a little problem, But customer support is always very responsive and helps me out. So my impression of PVY is pretty good. I've also been eyeing the Libon and thinking about buying one for my wife, Your video is very real and not all praise. This is what I want to see. I believe that no product is 100% perfect, I will continue to pay attention to this model, When the goods arrive and these problems are resolved, I would buy one.🤝
Thanks for the comment, Rob. I also have had great experience with the previous PVY bike that I've had. Fingers crossed that no one else will be affected.
This bike promises plenty, 1500euro Indiegogo campaign for the Dual battery at 18.5kg is an interesting proposition but it looks pny still has some quality control to improve thus making, at least, the initial batches a bit risky investment. Thanks for letting us know of your experience and drawbacks
Weird thing is the indiegogo campaign list a single 50Nm engine, only for EU restricted to 250W by default with international variant supposedly derestricted, yet the same product on PVY page has 2 completely different engines listed - CE 37Nm 250W, International 50Nm 500W... the EU also gets the CE stickers/stamps for power compliance, the international derestricted lacks those... at least that's what PVY support stated when I enquired about it (totally different engines, not just electric/software reign-in for different markets with accompanying engine plaques). So, in theory, the reviewers received the crowd funding variant that had more powerful engine from International variant only limited software-wise to 250W continuous power delivery, while orders from PVY now get separate running gear depending on version chosen in the web shop...
You say it. Too many questions raised and too few answers. After I discovered the motor thing, PVY tried to make me not releasing the video. Based on all the delays and the changes in the specs, I feel that they have acknowledged that there is an issue and hopefully pulled back the first batches so that they put proper motors. Just a guess though.
Forget the power , the gearing is not correct. at a modest 15 mph the rider is pedalling uncomfortably fast. They need a large front crank or gear box in the motor. This is what a rider has said. Otherwise a brilliant bike.
Hi, very impressive review! I want to ask you what you were thinking about choosing the pvy libon or engwe P20 ? It will be mostly used for summer vacations in the city, while not having at garage where to keep the bike I want to be able to carry the bike in to the apartment when needed. What do you recommend me ? Thank you.
I was about to keep the P20 if it had suspension. The review about it is ready, and will likely go live in 2-3 days. Send me a note (email) if you would like to see it in advance. The PVY bike is more advanced about some features, but the Engwe model feels more polished. Both offer very similar riding experience. PVY Libon was perhaps somewhat more comfortable.
According to their Facebook group, the international version is equipped with another kind of motor, so I believe the motor thing is solved. Unfortunately.PVY no longer respond to my messages, so I cannot say for sure.
@@TechMishka That lack of response is also very telling about a company. It seems that a lot of chinese company have the same issues with their bikes. Some good features but also crucial failures.
I don't think you're supposed to open it like that. Those white plastic things ain't handles. They're clips, clipping 2 open boxes together. You click them open and the whole outer box slides up.
@@ismaenbici I received my ado 20 pro, lovely bike, no complains whatsoever so far… I just needed to tight the seat post and I will go to a bike shop to align the brake pads. My commute that used to take me 40 minutes by foot+metro, now takes me 20 minutes by bike alone. The automatic gear change is brilliant and the motor is strong. And I am a bit overweight, so the load I put on it is perhaps a bit over the weight limits on the specs, even so the motor handles me fine uphill without overheating. It helps that the gear allow a better transfer of power from the pedal to the wheel at high speed
Hi, Thanks for the very great review. I really think about to buy this bike, in comparison with Fiido D11 or x But I have 4 question what I couldn't figure out in your review, maybe you can answer this. - Because of the weight. The 16kg was without second Akku, but with the Seat Akku? - How is the peddal frequency when you drive around 20km/h. Ok or already super high? - Small climbs (with around 5minutes) shouldn't be a problem? - Is it also easy posiible to remove the Seat Akku Cheers Marc
I'd stay away from Fiido because if their horrendous support. The weight is 18.5 with 2 batteries. Pedaling is OK at 20km/h. At 25 it is a bit weird. Climbing is fine even for prolonged time if they have fixed the minor issue that I had with my motor. You cannot remove the seat battery.

Very well agreed. PVY have a lot of good potential if they prioritize honesty.

Happy to as soon as I figure out a way how to get one. If you can link me to the brand - feel free to send over an email.
Nice review video. were you able to find out how you switch from one battery to the other one? it doesnt seem to do it automatic
It is automatic - the controller spreads the load. You can only turn on or off the seatpost battery

Can you turn on the lights using the bike battery or the light has its own battery?
It uses the bike's battery
