I’m a veteran of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars…. We made an impact there. Politics screwed all the success up tho…
We need a ton of humanitarian work, and it was a wonderful balance after having to take life….to kill bad guys. And bad they were. These men raped young boys and women, and anything they could violate. So I don’t see the futility in the wars I served in. Yes, the elites and the politicians screwed up our progress, but the pog…..the plain old grunt? We did honest work, and love our country. Cheers.

I understand your sentiment. But taken as such, it ain't that easy. I mean, that's pretty much what Hitler, Stalin and all tyrants did and do. So convinced of what's in their hearts, while ignoring reality on the outside. So maybe it's not so straightforward.
