  • In this video, I show how I propagate my Hoya Carnosa Albomarginata. I especially want to show, how I propagate single leaf cuttings to maximize the number of cuttings and to minimize the waste when propagating Hoyas!

    Did new leaves ever pop up from the single leaf props?

    Sweet video, always like getting a new plant when you use cuttings!

    Will they grow into a plant of their own one day?

    Hey, this is misleading. The leaf “cuttings” do nothing more than root growth. New growth comes from nodes. I know this is an older (& probably experimental) video but you can at least put an update in the description so when your video pops up in people’s search results, they don’t cut their leaves thinking they’ll grow new plants :)

      Thanks for the hint! Also made a whole video on plants nodes 👍

      What is the point of people propagating a single leaf them? Thank you for pointing this out, I almost bought a single rooted leaf believing I'd grow a full plant someday

      @IMNENIGMA1 i stuck my leaf back in the soil after accidentally breaking it during repotting. A living leaf is also nice and it helps fill the pot. 😊

    Hello!! Did your leaf propagations actually grow into plants?? I have some with really long roots but just read that they won’t grow new plants unless they have a stem node. Please let me know how yours ended up!! Thanks a lot! :)

    How long does it take for vines to show up? One site said you have to cut off the top third of the leaf to force it at this point.

    I'd like to know too, did any new leaves ever grow from these single leaf propagations?

    • @MarlenePlantkins
      @MarlenePlantkins  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      To be honest, some did some not. For Safe propagation I now only do propagation of head cuttings :)

    • @daanwessels4781

      The majority of single leaf cuttings will not grow into plants. Those that do can take up to several years to do so.

      @@MarlenePlantkins- some did not - does that mean some DID? Thanks!

    Oh, no! I threw away about 10 Krimson Queen and Princess leaves I could've tried this with! Did yours grow to maturity from the single leaves we saw here?

    I tried many times to grow hoya from a single leaf, it rooted but never grew. I am going to do it like on video, after rooting transfer the rooted leaves in new soil.

      Even when rooted, single keaf cuttings normally live but seldom grow into plants.

      Hoyas take veeeery long to develope stems from single leaf cuttings. I have two other Hoyas that needed 1/2 years and for another I am still waiting 4 years after 😅 slow growers

  • @chankitty3618
    @chankitty3618 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    是!真的是誤導!得一片葉没有芽點!種到天荒地老也不會出叶,希希我睇錯.😂也希望你比個之後的視頻看😊
