Dude I got ya!!!!! I was recording the pass so you will be on the channel on a couple days. Hell yeah man I’m so happy to hear you on the satellites!!! Now to get you on a linear satellite so we can rag chew on ssb. 😁

@@W0CYC-HamRadioEndeavors I was using a tyt7800 for that last pass. I made a youtube short of the junk i was using this last pass. I have a 991a that will do 2m ssb. I need to get an antenna for it. Thanks for listening for me. I got you in the log.

Hel yeah man I’ll check it out! You will need something full duplex to do the linear satellites. Correct me if I’m wrong but I think the 991 is not full duplex between 2/440. I’m super excited for you man it’s a great feeling to finally get on the satellites.

@@W0CYC-HamRadioEndeavors No but it will run split 2m to 440. I have a lot to learn

Ok it could be done but it will be super tough. You would have to do manual adjustment of the Doppler for both RRS smit and receive bands. When you get ready to try get ahold of me, a long phone conversation would be best to see if we can get you on.

New to satellites and new to ham radio in general. Got my tech and gen just less than 5 months ago. I had to show my wife your video. Look honey, my voice was heard in space! LOL. Still learning, so be lenient with a newbie when you catch me on the band with the birds. Thanks for uploading the video. 73. K3ZON

That is awesome to hear man! I remember hearing you on that pass, but couldn’t find a spot to get in. Keep up the good work. That’s why I like doing these videos…showcasing the other side of the mic 73. Hope to catch you soon.

That's the first time I've heard POTA on one of the OSCARs! I want to put a portable tracker together for POTA and special events, etc. Awesome pass!

I’ve done POTA a few times via satellite. In fact I have a video on the channel where I was K8MRD’s first satellite contact and I was at a park. I’ve also gotten a lot of guys this year at parks. Up until I did my July 4th activation at US-1776 the only thing I had on my hunter page was POTA from satellite. So it’s out there!!

@@W0CYC-HamRadioEndeavors That is AWESOME! The challenge I have undertaken is to mobilize a full tracker setup (IC-9700 + SAT + Quads + 5500) in a portable environment. The only real challenge is the antenna - If you have any interesting ideas I'd love to hear them!

I have not concurred that yet either. I just run FM portable and do it by hand.

Cool! What software is that you are using? is it DOS based?

Thanks for watching! It is the interface from the CSN Technologies SAT controller. The Sat Controller is a stand alone box that controls the radio and antenna rotor. It is run by a simple IP address on any browser.
