- This includes all the clips from the original Magic Roundabout (2005) inwhich there are pop culture references in the American version known as Doogal (2006).
In case you have seen Doogal, then you'll see here how the original clips are in this video. I might have forgotten a few. Maybe.
I own nothing. No money has been and shall never be made off this video. - ภาพยนตร์และแอนิเมชัน
The Magic Roundabout is so underrated. Probably one of the best British films I've seen.
I have the movie Doogal instead and I had it for years
I didn't know there was another version of this movie now I wish I had that one
Dubs aren't limited to different languages, they're also used for different regions that also speak the same language.
Man, Doogal was an embarrassment. Blame the same man who ruined The Thief and The Cobbler.
It's like Harvey Weinstein has absolutely no idea how a GOOD animated movie works.
@@mtscreations Exactly! How come HE knew how to make Hoodwinked! a good animated movie, but not its sequel?

Weinstein had nothing to do with the writing of Doogal or Hoodwinked. He was the distributor.
@@mtscreations Except Hoodwinked. That movie was painfully underrated
@@morbidsearch almost a year late but, uh…
Wrong. He did do the writing for Doogal. He was not just the distributor. Originally Butch Hartmann was gonna do the script, but in the end he only had to do 3% of the script, with the other 97% of the script being made by Weinstein, which sort of explains why there are so many unnecessary pop culture references everywhere
Sure. Plus it’s British humor. I can still see the value and what Doogal (2006) is trying to present honestly
Yes! If Eric Thompson (who adapted the Magic Roundabout for British TV in the 60s) was still alive to see the American version, he wouldn't be too impressed, and that's probably an understatement.
It’s a good thing I watched the Magic Roundabout. I haven’t watched Doogal yet, but I heard it was pretty bad. I like the Magic Roundabout, Dylan, Train, Ermintrude, and Brian were my favorite characters in it.
The TH-cam channel should upload the movie.
2:33 you sure got that right
See? No pop culture references in the original UK version. Well, apart from having one or two of them.
One was when Sam says he's got a sixth sense as a reference to The Sixth Sense (1999).
@@mtscreations Well, the point was that even if there were references, it's not as disconjoined as the US dub. For example, they used a "My precious" joke for 0:40, when in the actual clip, Dylan was not cursed by the gem, but instead was saying that the crystal, that looked cool, needs some tuning. I believe there's an "Off with his head" at 2:24, which besides being from "Alice in Wonderland" is a common phrase for dictators that can't have their way.
@@mtscreations I’m glad the pop culture references didn’t go overboard in the UK dub.
There is also a moment-- Although, it's not here, but Dylan, after he and the others watch Zebedee fall, once Zeebad defeats him, says, "Zeb's dead, baby. Zeb's dead." A little nod to the line, "Zed's dead, baby. Zed's dead.", from Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction, originally said by Bruce Willis.
There’s nothing inherently wrong with making pop culture references, but if almost every piece of dialogue is a pop culture reference than that gets very problematic to the point of cringe
This version is way better. Also, in this version, the Moose never talked. But in Doogal, he talked.
Robbie Williams is amazing as Doogal.
Tom baker is always the best even when not wearing a scarf or eating jelly babies
I remember doogal in dvd I was young 😊
Same
I watched The Magic Roundabout back in New Jersey. It's better than Doogal.
The UK Dub is WAY better!
Dylan is my Favorite Character In this movie
1:41-ermintrude said the f word
She said something Japanese word
There should be a drinking game of this film
Given how straight forward the story of the original movie is, it probably would've done okay as is in the US. I get that they maybe would've had to market it differently, but still
As someone who lives in the US the original British Dub interesting to me.
I gotta ask did they censored anything in us dubbing?
Even people back then hate Americanization.
“Off with his head”-like in Alice in wonderland
Loved this flim as a kid ❤
I fucking hate how this movie looks. I always did, even as a child.
Harvey Weinstein should have never edited this underrated gem and turned it into a bad fandub.
Worst for Doogal it was on Netflix
The original film was already in English
How is this version bad?
Le Manège enchanté est un film français
I am not just another pretty face
The British Version Is Better Than The US Version
YALL ARE INSANE FOR HATING ON DOOGAL THAT SHIT WAS MAD FUNNY
Doogal us better than round about
The US Dub don’t make sense. It’s just stupid.
I think the magic roundabout is lazy instead of doogal
not as lazy as taking an existing film and dubbing it in the same language
I heard the original Magic Roundabout's already mid at best. Doogal just took a mediocre movie and made it worse. At least with Pinocchio: A True Story, they tried to make it a So Bad It’s Good kinda movie. What was the intent with Doogal?
