Jan 15, 2022 - We put together some Clips of the underwater volcano off Tonga that erupted on Saturday, triggering tsunami warnings and causing large waves in several South Pacific islands, where footage on social media showed waves crashing into coastal homes.

Jan 15th.. I was having my 40th..
We heard this and wondered what the hell it was.. We thought it might be Tasman mill or the steam plant up near the mill... I said nope thats something way bigger.. We listened for a good 5mins to the booms and rumblings...
It instantly reminded me of when Ruapehu went up, Could hear it rumbling from here. I feel sad for all those that lost there lifes and the people of the islands... coming up to a year on and i hope things are getting better...that was one hell of an explosion...🥴😵

Now imagine that that one volcano in Iceland exploded
One would really be forgiven into thinking it was either a nuclear test or perhaps even a rather unfortunate asteroid strike judging by these images from orbit! The lattar being which astronomers are all too aware of for that specific date is that of (2021 AS5). Although as we can understand of late that this underwater volcano has created much trepidation and anxiety within the scientific community as being an unprecedented ticking time bomb, hence the term, "the sleeping giant" which is consistent with local indigenous folklore within that region!
May we all pause for thoughts and prayers for a moment for everyone that may have been affected by the effects caused by this earth shattering event!

And this volcano was recently deemed dormant, twice I believe

@@DeMooniC Theres actually less land mass than there was before the eruption. Even though its "underwater" the cone was still sticking up. When it exploded it blew the cone to pieces and collapsed in.
