- Trail riding with my son Finn at the Omihi School fundraiser trail ride.
We travelled down from Nelson on Saturday afternoon after finishing round three of the Top Of The South Cross country at Tadmore to do this ride and it was well worth it.
It was an awesome track with some very cool terrain and conditions were perfect on the day. The main loop was around 25km long and we did four laps.

Terry from Christchurch New Zealand love ua work young man, went out too that ride pritty fast main loop. Got 5laps in but no enduros as they kill me clutch on the 250f. Are you guys up Nelson way and how old is your boy is he raceing with Jacob, Brendon Willson lad in 65s or is that a pro50. Ua wee mans got good skills and goin real well.
Hi Terry. Thanks for watching. Yes, we are from Nelson. We got 4 laps in and really enjoyed the ride, definitely worth coming down for. Finn does motocross too and was racing with Jacob at the Nelson mini champs recently. Jacob's pretty quick!
@@bentowseNelson got a great mx colture of motivated cub members with Bryan and the likes putting in a good foundation for the kids cumin up in the sport and it shows at there event's. I'm a vet rider but haven't been doing so much raceing this year. Trying to get more seat time b4 Nuggets witch is my favourite weekend with a great event. Christchurch lacks public addressable tracks witch makes it hard for the average riders. I'm lucky to have acsess to private tracks to ride so if your coming down or through let me know as Brendons, and Bairds track would be good for Finns advanced skill level. I've been grooming up another track out southbridge witch handles the rain well but we probably won't be seeing much if that for awhile. Must say your pretty lucky with private tracks around Motueaka and he likes. Anyways if ua down give me a bell and I'll get you Finn out with a couple of other talented kids on a good track. We are lucky to have Bryan supporting the moto kids in Nelson. He is so good with the kids and super enthusiastic and puts a lot of effort into running events.
We should be at Gold Nuggets too, so might get to catch up there.
We've been to the BTF, Godfrey and King of the Bowl tracks in chch and they are pretty cool. Not as many mini tracks up here. Would be great to have a ride next time we have some spare time down in chch!

We use Fodsports M1S-pro Bluetooth intercoms from Aliexpress. They work really well and are great for trail riding.

They're about $100NZD per headset. If you search M1S-pro on Aliexpress they should come up. There are a few sellers. We got them from the "Fodsports Official store".
I'm over from Ireland for a year anyone know if there is anyone who rents out bikes to do events around new Zealand really want to do a bit of racing over here
Hi Keith. Adventure Trailrides Events organise a lot of the trail-rides we do. They also do dirt bike tours with hire bikes, so would be worth a call.

Opinions on forzas the bike company
I have no experience with Forzas myself, but haven't heard great things about them. Maybe OK for playing around or learning but I would stick to Japanese or Euro bikes if you want reliability.
@@bentowse yeah I have one there auctually not a bad bike to be fair and there quite good on trails haha
Good to know. I guess any bike that gets you out riding is a good bike!
