Used to hold it right there in Patong Beach on Bangla Road. Nikkis handlebars was a big part of putting on those early events. It’s gotta be scary showing up on that first day not knowing what type of turnout there’s gonna be the promoters of these events and even the vendors I wonder if they even make money. As someone who’s put races on myself in the past I came to the conclusion you never do it for the money you do it for the camaraderie and friendships that are formed. Thanks for the coverage this year that definitely looked much larger than what I remember from back in the day.
That looked really cool , people having a buzz and some nice looking bikes and cars . The new Harley looked really nice , that would cost about 3 times more than what it costs in the US than here in Vietnam. I can only dream . Thanks for the uploads

At 12 minutes and 37 something seconds...that black and red COE was the most expensive vehicle there...believe...they cost almost 100k in poor shape...that one being a crew cab...Lucas...that's about 250k American...sweet truck...have fun and be safe
My first car was a 1967 ford mustang 289 small V8 coupe. Olive green I bought it for 2600.00 now it's worth 30,000.00 in great shape. To bad I didn't hang on to it. Young and dumb. That looks like an amazing event! I would love to go to that, I have never even been to the island, I would go for this specifically. Bummer you didn't get one of the campers on the beach, that would have been a crazy scene. I want to see that VW chopper in action, what a crazy design! The grips were so crazy, I'd just like to see the guy sitting in it.

I live in Southern California. Grew up in the San Fernando Valley. Once in a while I would go to the Rose Bowl swap meet. I used to see all this odd balls stuff there like the three wheel motorcycles made with Volkswagen engines. I lived in Sunland California for my first 14 years. It was a biker Haven. There was at least three biker clubs on foothill Boulevard at that time. They weren’t a very nice group any of them. In 1979 I met an undercover cop. He had set up a drug deal to buy a large amount of cocaine from one these bike clubs in Sunland. Two undercover LAPD officers met the biker at 7 11 parking lot. This to biker decided to drive a Corvette. Once the drugs was exchange for money they pulled out their guns and identify themselves as LAPD. This biker threw it into drive and try to speed through the parking lot to escape. But in order to do that he had to get by one of the police officers. Both undercover police officers open fire on him and killed him. I met the LAPD police officer at my gym. This LAPD police officer was a super power lifter. I used to watch him squat 670 pounds and bench press close to 500 pounds. He came to the gym soon after the incident. He didn’t look too well he was very depressed. He didn’t like killing people. The biker gang started to plan a retaliation against the two officers. LAPD Had their moles they found out about it. LAPD undercover officers kicked in the door of the bike club president and they beat the shit out of everybody in that house. They told them to drop the contract on the officer or they would come back daily to beat them until it was dropped. The badly beaten biker president called off the hit on the two LAPD officers.

It’s a true story and From the shooting until the beat down of the biker president all happened within a few days of each other. I was only 19 at the time. Couple months later I bought myself a 1979 Honda XL 350. I love that bike I could go anywhere on it. Just like your Enduro.
Even way out there They can put on a pretty good Bike Show ...... Those Trails maybe a little loud at night .... But it is still better than sleeping in the Truck bed ....
yeah, I've seen a trend in moving these events further out of urban areas so local business and residents are not disturbed. Same thing was supposed to happen in Pattaya this year but the event was cancelled.
What a super cool event, for sure something I would have loved to check out if I was on that side of the world. Those little beach side cabins was the nice setup for being close but the place you found looked pretty nice too. What was the dude at 15:35 up to? Such a trip seeing a mix of just about everything there.
I've been to PBW many times over the early years 2000 + , But you never visited Nikys Handlebar .. on Ratuthid Songroy Pee rd .. That is the place to be during PBW .. Owned by Niky and brother Kai and sister Yah ... That gets full of Bikers and Harley's for rent and Solid Biker Rock music Rock every night all season .. He also has a biker themed hotel with rooms to rent ..
Looks like it's cleaned up a bit....I was at one 10 years ago when they did it on Beach Road on the way to Kamala.....the last night a couple guys shot shot and I think one died. We had just been at the Carabao concert and missed it by a few minutes.
