    You can update the Galaxy S7 to Android 13 (September 2022 Security Patch) with the PixelExperience Rom on XDA and the exynos version of the Galaxy S7 is much better than the snapdragon, back in the day the exynos processor was better than the snapdragon processor.

    • @WitchMedusa
      @WitchMedusa ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Yeah people in America have no idea how good the S7 actually was cause they got some garbage processor in theirs. I owned both & the Galaxy S7 I have has like 2/3 the performance of the Pixel 5 I have, which is from 2020 or 2021. But the newer Pixels blow the S7 out of the water.
      My S7 absolutely won the silicon lottery while my pixel 5 lost it. My S7 performs much better than the average bench mark while the pixel is a little worse.
      But such a shame to see how clueless this youtuber is on all this stuff that he should have looked into before making a comparison video, cheap & lazy is what it is

    When these came out their was no competition the s7 destroyed in specs and material wise adn Samsung phones always having more features, but now a days the iPhone 6s or 7 significantly better because of the amount of software updates and better processor which holds up, the s7 has better specs and more features than even something like an iPhone 14 pro at the most part, Samsung usually goes with better paper specs and more features but apple going with stronger hardware and it still being usuable like I wouldn't recommend buying the 6s or 7 but honestly not only that the iPhone 7 is usuable but its also not by any means slow and amazing performing like its not a beast but its still decent like its not even slow like opening and closing apps isn't really anything but the s7 stutters alot and lags alot times to time iPhone 7 very minimal so I'd say the 6s or 7 are better back up phones than something like an s7 its more comparable with the s8 yes the s8 its been a year since it stopped with secrrutiy updates and stopped being unsupported since android 9 in 2019 but now a days Samsung is close iPhone 7 5 ios updates the s21 and newer 4 years of android update and 5 year of security update thats just 1 update behind the iPhone 7

    • @WitchMedusa
      @WitchMedusa ปีที่แล้ว

      S7 has far more features, the guy who made this video didn't know you had to swipe to the side of the app to access them.
      Plus it's android so that automatically gives it more features any any iPhone, let's see someone on iPhone unlock their bootloader & install a OS designed for hacking, or have the ability to uninstall even system apps by just plugging their phone into their computer.
      Without any device mods or anything sketchy, you can uninstall whatever you want using ADB on Android, not on iPhone tho.

    • @Shan_Shah
      @Shan_Shah ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@WitchMedusa more doesn't always mean better just a general statement I'm a Samsung guy myself.
      U don't even have to mention the s7 has more features than this even if u buy the first Samsung smartphone vs ios 16 that thing has more features than ios. Any software has more features and ios but this doesn't necessarily mean the first galaxy s is better than the iPhone 14 pro max. But honestly speaking despite being a Samsung guy if I had to use a phone I'd use an iPhone 7 over the s7 because updates do play into role and while the s7 has been outdated for year, I'm not saying it's anywhere as bad as an iPhone 4s on ios 9 but its def slower than the iPhone 5s on ios 12. I'd like u to correct u u can't Uninstall all of the system apps and its even possible without connecting to the computer. Also the big advantage android has is the ability to side load app although it prevents security a bit but to be honest apple isn't secure by much comparing to blackberry like u still get pop up which are designed to hack your device.
      The s7 is a better phone even the s4 or s5 is but the iPhone 7 because of being supported this long which gives it more stability.
      To be honest with u apples software in general is more stable and optimized than any other software and they have great fluid animation and get fluidity. I'm a Samsung guy I have their latest products and like to upgrade very often but I am not a fan of their animations, it stutters when opening and closing apps and it's also bouncy while Apple pixel and one plus have flat animations and zero stutters. Even today Samsung animations feels like 30hz.
      Samsung is overall better and more software and unique hardware like spen and unique software like Samsung dex even though Dex is a blot up android and almost unless but apple has nothing that can compete or even dream to.
      While Samsung is the software king apple is the software king in terms of optimization, fluidity and in terms of update Samsing is no slouch they offer 4 android updates and 5 years of security update and I'm not saying apple is better because they give 6-7 years of support but because they are more consistent with their updates, tend to fix bugs right away and don't have an updating policy like Samsung and Google, I wish Samsung can remove the update policy and just make 5 android update the average and maybe offer certain devices 6 android update if the 5ᵗʰ update is buggy. After the 4s on ios 9 apple learned their lesson they gave the 5s ios 12 and didn't give the 6 ios 13 and ended it on stable ios 12 and same with the 6s could've ended on ios 13 or even 14 but they didn't they gave it stable ios 15 and didn't give the ios 16 to 7 ending it of on a stable update.
      When u look at something like an s10 series ended on android 12 which is a garbage update and although they promised security patch its not the same stability as a full on stability update, like samsung has updating policy.
      Samsung better software in terms of features and unique hardwares like spen and better ecosystem features.
      Apple better in terms of fluidity, optimization, updates and not to mention a more fluid ecosystem.

      @@Shan_Shah I'm still using a Galaxy S7 as my alt device, I have a Pixel 7 running GrapheneOS as my primary device though.
      My S7 is on stock android 8.0 & all apps work perfectly fine, there are no incompatibility issues.
      I use Michael Bazzell's 2 phone method, my S7 is just for around the house & local stores, anything I don't mind big tech knowing. Then I have my GrapheneOS device for anytime I leave the house, work, friends, travel, recreation, etc. GrapheneOS has better security than any other mobile OS, Android is already more secure than iOS & has been for quite some time, the issue there is the lack of privacy on non-deGoogled ROMs.
      But yeah the S7 works perfectly fine these days as my around the house phone, most times I don't even bring it with me cause I don't need it but its still very fast & gets the job done. Just make sure you have a international S7, the US models are SUPER slow cause they got the far worse Snapdragon processors. Their not even comparable as the same device, international S7's are on another level.

    • @Shan_Shah
      @Shan_Shah ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @MaeMae actually during the s7 days Exynos was better than snapdragon and it's not a very fast phone it's slow, talking about getting the job done even 2007 phone will get your basic jobs done but that's not the point u have it but I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy this the point is these phones are die on u anytime soon and like it's not secured anymore it's been outdated for over 4 years.

    • @WitchMedusa
      @WitchMedusa ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Shan_Shah Thats exactly why I said, the international models are faster. The international models are the ones with the Exynos processor.
      Look at the Geekbrench results, almost 50% faster, the difference is night & day.
      Also what more do you need a phone for? I can use navigation on my S7, I can watch videos, it has a micro sd card slot so I can download movies, apps are still fast & work fine. Like this ain't just the basic tasks, this is 95% of what a brand new phone can do.
      I don't game on my phone cause mobile games suck, I have a computer for that. Like honestly even though I have the brand new Pixel 7, I have no realistic need for anything faster than the Galaxy S7, at least as of right now.

      Typically when I go out my phone will last the day cause I'm not on it the entire time. I actually have a replacement battery in a drawer ready to be put in, but I thought about it & my original battery still has enough life to last as long as I need even though its 7 years old. I don't see a need to replace the battery until it becomes an issue.

    Omg this is by far the worst review I've ever seen, you trash the S7 camera app but didn't even swipe to the side to show all the features. There is legit a pro mode that lets you adjust all the variables to the camera, & you can even manually do night mode by increasing the exposure time or whatever it's called.
    You had no idea what you were talking about in this video, this was the most lazy review or comparison I've ever seen.
    Also you can't use system apps as a benchmark for performance because they not the same test, Google play store will continue to get updates on devices as old as Android 4.0 I believe. Also Play Protect will update new devices security features for app based d
    exploit protection across all android devices, so you are running more intensive security than the phone was originally designed for, vs on apple updates come out with device updates & their not exact across all devices. This is why actually reputable channels that care about reporting facts use benchmarking applications that put great care into objectively measuring performance.
    I think iPhone does still win in this regard as the S7 is the same generation as the 6s, not the iPhone 7. But showing app load times for DIFFERENT APPS doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Depending on how optimized the program is can result in something taking a month to do a task, or a couple milliseconds. I poop you not there are programming case studies where people have increased performance that much on the same hardware.
    Also you didn't even look at stuff like the camera quality.
    This was generally the worst review I've ever seen, your content is trash & this felt so lazily produced, like you're just pumping out the video for views. Actually put effort into making content if you going to be doing stuff like comparisons or tests otherwise your making misinformation.

      Hi, is it true that older devices are not safe to use due to a lack of security updates? I kept hearing cybersecurity experts discouraging people from using old phones with outdated softwares as they are more vulnerable to exploitation from scammers and hackers which is why I always upgrade my devices as soon as Samsung stopped releasing security patches. Maybe you can prove me wrong and convince me that it isn't really that bad as what they say.
