    For new graduates that take up casual work instead of a graduate position, does a whole year still count as 1 year so they can progress to Increment 2?

    • @NurseMharvskieVlogs
      @NurseMharvskieVlogs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The new grad needs to meet a certain number of working hours for the whole year so they can progress to increment 2. Like equivalent to part/full time hours.

    How about tax and cost of living? The more salary the more tax. Ok would you please mention how much saving you can put in a bank after tax deduction and all expenses because in my opinion the good salary is according your saving in a bank after all deduction.

    • @NurseMharvskieVlogs
      @NurseMharvskieVlogs  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's correct, the higher the salary, the higher the tax will be. 31% of our salary goes to tax, and it's no secret, the cost of living in Australia is high too. Your savings depends on your family budget and with your lifestyle. Pretty simple.

    Hi I am from Melbourne. And currently doing diploma of nursing. what is the best thing to do join agency or find job directly ? Who pays better ? How much should I expect as a casual ?

    • @NurseMharvskieVlogs
      @NurseMharvskieVlogs  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello. Every states in Australia offers different pay rate. What I discussed on my video, I said particularly in South Australia. In regards to your question which is the best thing to do, there are pros and cons of working as an agency nurse or casual nurse, or to work permanently in one hospital. Cons as agency Nurse, your work is never guaranteed, they can cancel your shift anytime, you have to travel a lot, you have to work and adjust to a new environment all the time. You don't have much benifts as well like sick leave, annual leave, basically, no work, no pay. Having said that, it is flexible, you can work anytime, anywhere you like. As for the permanent job, it is a secured job. They can't cancel your shift, it is a guaranteed job, however, you cannot chose your shift, they will decide your shift, also you will have all the benifits the hospital has to offer. I started as an agency Nurse here, it was so stressful for me, I worked at private and public hospitals and I knew the fact that I cannot do it for a long time. So it's up to you really, every Nurse has a different journey, it doesn't mean being an agency Nurse is good or not good. What really works for you, may not works for others. So, hope this helps.

    Hello! How is the cost of living vs the salary? Are nurses generally living comfortably or better? I am considering moving from California with 13 years experience.

    • @NurseMharvskieVlogs
      @NurseMharvskieVlogs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh wow! I have a lot of Filipino friends in Cali..Nurses too..Our salary here in Australia is not as big as in the US so don't be surprise. Cost of living here is expensive, but we still managed to live comfortably and can afford to travel every school hoildays, having said that, we have to stick to our budget though. Also it depends upon your lifestyle. It's laid back here, good for family and kids.
