The chandelier in the lobby really is magnificent.

No thank God! By "here" I meant the hotel. I watch a lot of this channel's video and remember seeing the title when I heard about the bombs.

Just want to say that your videos have great music... perfect background sounds while doing work.
Whenever you do another trip to Sri Lanka I suggest Heritance Kandalama
Just don't to the Heritance Tea Factory in Nuwara Eliya.... we had a terrible experience there with the staff and the rooms! The hotel (aside from the horribly dated rooms) is interesting and the food is decent. We enjoyed the wait staff the most. There is also a gorgeous cottage garden.
Ok, the hotel is a nice try, but does not really remind me of a typical Shangri La unfortunately. The typical Shangri La coziness is missing. Very cold hotel. For me in Colombo are only 2 hotels to stay at, the Cinnamon Grand and the Mount Lavinia Hotel, both top notch.

Amazing place and video ! I will stay one week in the other Shangri La in Sri Lanka in less than two weeks.. can't wait !
Just a remark about your videos.. as I've already told you before, it is absolutely perfect and my favorite weekly program but one single thing is missing to reach absolute perfection : can you please name what you are eating ? It would be so great !! :)
Also, really love when you are taking us for a walk around the hotel or in the city :)

I suggest all tourism hotels.tourist must go under all type of security chk before and after and during their stay.
Bomb detection equipmnt must be installed in ever hook.n corner

I was in Sri Lanka last yearbut I have never stayed at that hotel. I don't think it was open when I was there but it is very nice.
The hotel opened last November.
the Luxury Travel Expert I was there in late October to early November so I think I just missed it

Sadly a lot of staff and guest died and others injuried due to easter Sunday blast.....it breaks my heart to know that thoes amazing people that worked at shangrila colombo may not be there ......I collected cash and sent my parents to a breakfast in Feb this year they had looked after them soo well .....my parents were very well looked after ....its very very sad . I do not have heart to call in to ask if they are ok as it's very very sad ....its innocent people stay ...breadwinners ....its am crying while I type this .......horrid horrid terrorist .....aiyo these innocent staff who may or may not be alive today . .....aiyo and guest too .....aiyo

I went to last yr mount Lavinia beach hotel in Colombo.very good place and beach also .we enjoyed lot .
I stayed in Shangari la .building only nice .when we go out not good beach 🏖.cant stay in room always .just spent money building.location good only for business type of travelers.not suit for vacation...

It's crucial to refrain from supporting TH-camrs who endorse the controversial business of Mohomad Sajjad Mawzoon, a notorious tax evader and a major contributor to the economic issues in Sri Lanka. The Shangri La Hotel Group associated with him should not receive any support or recognition. Instead, let's promote businesses with strong ethical and responsible practices.
I prefer chocolates instead of fruits as welcome gift. Fruits feels cheap, chocolates ads glamour.

After watching your video about Maldives this hotel looks cheap
One is a resort & this is a hotel, mainly a business hotel. You can't compare it directly. Similarly a heritage hotel will have it's own old word charm.
Most of the hotels in Colombo are for business. The best I've been too are located in Tangalle, Kandy, and the Polonaruwa area
Moon Moon the sculpture could be about those weird SJW qualities -- or it could be simply a wire figure of an elephant.
Nothing special about this hotel at all.
Its special its one of biggest business hotel ..
