Hey! I think your vet is being safe with waiting 2 months but I let my puppy say hi to other dogs we just don’t go to a dog park. Also just keep verbally saying “NO” when your puppy bites or say “play nice” and act upset. Over time your puppy will learn. They will stop teeth biting after 8 months when teeth are mostly in.

My 6 month old puppy has been around my original two dogs, we also adopted one of his littermates, and he goes to a farm every week day and he has been going since he was 3 months. He suddenly has started attacking the goats and chickens very aggressively, and has drawn blood now from a goat. I know we can correct this but it's difficult to find information on this. He's not aggressive towards people or dogs, but is actively and violently attacking the goats and chickens suddenly.

The shear fact you are looking for answers on here is a sign that it will work out. Puppies nip and bite and use their mouths for everything. Crying out and saying ouch really loud works with some pups. Others need a sterner approach. You can turn your back and ignore them when they are too rough. Just keep watching videos until you find a strategy you think will work. I just got an mini mini Australian shepherd puppy yesterday he’s 11 weeks old and he’s great with humans so far and my children. He’s great with my 4 cats and my senior beagle/basset hound mix. BUT I’ve also got a 10 week old pit bull puppy, and an 14 week old pit puppy. And for about 85% of the day he’s good with them but every so often when they are around each other he gets nervous and will growl and sometimes will snap, maybe twice he’s done that since we got him yesterday. So I’ve done some research on google and now TH-cam that I’ve got a plan to limit and supervise his interactions with each puppy one at a time for a few days so he can get used to the new house (which is his first house he’s ever been in, the breeder I got him from literally kept him in a barn or in a crate in the barn) with only interactions with his litter mates. So maybe (hopefully) he’s just a little scared and nervous and will grow out of it. Because he’s the most precious beautiful looking little boy puppy I’ve ever seen and he wasn’t cheap at all. So I’m hoping that he gets used to the new house and with his new sisters and gets over what he’s going through. What is your opinion?

How should i play with my pup if i can't play tug or whats an activity I can do without getting him excited and riled up? I have a now (got him at 8 weeks) 9 week old kelpie, and his constantly biting/growling/barking - showing his teeth at you when you tell him no especially, his 100% go go go, and there's never a moment where his not trying to bite/destroy something unless his about to fall asleep. He seems to understand no, as when he goes to bite our hand/face, we tell him no, and he kind of backs away shaking his head and growling, then get in a pounce position and will try to bite again, sometimes he will listen, sometimes he even gives us kisses back, but 98% of the time his just crazy. Not sure if this is normal puppy behaviour, all the training videos of 8 week old pups I've watched, they're all so much calmer. I've started to put him Into " time out" when he gets aggressive, I make sure his settled down and calm before coming back out of his pen. As soon as his out, his back to being super non stop crazy, I also take him outside once an hour for a toilet break and a little run/play, to try and drain some of that high kelpie energy, we also try to distract him with other toys when he starts to bite us, or lure him Into a short training session. I suppose his still in the process of learning, as his only 9 weeks at this stage, but I've just been wondering, he has me exhausted haha. Sorry for the essay.

As well today out of no where he began to growl and try to bite me and seemed to have so much hatred for me . True story my old buddy who is a German shepherd when she was 4 month old she got very aggressive with her siblings but I thought thats how she plays but nah so after couple days of this behavior I knew it was time to show who is the alpha and some discipline I took them all on cold forest adventure in Alaska (dont worry I they had very warm clothing) we go out on small walks in the snow so one day it got very blizzary I immediately put them all in my backpack warm and cozy but i left her outside she started crying she tried and wanted to get in but i just ignored her after couple minutes of walking i stopped and waited she came up to me and sat down waiting for my approval so i did she now learned to obey and allow comfort from others and to never upset me again will she still does cus she always licks the heck out of the neighbors cat but the cat doesnt seem bothered._.

My beagle puppy doesn’t stop from biting unless he’s forced to and I hate it. I love my puppy more than I love myself. Yet it’s extremely painful, my hands are always bleeding and nothing can stop the biting, like really, nothing. Every time when I try and play with her she would bite very hard and it’s like she’s trying to rip my hand out. It’s not only my hands, but my face, legs, thighs, even belly. And even if I scream or cry she just doesn’t care haha.
My loved ones are the ones that stop her and it’s becoming worse and worse and I feel like my pup hates me know. I reached out a local trainer and he told me the tongue thing and ever since then my family uses this method although it’s clearly making things worse.
I’m afraid that my pup will just lose control and snap and our bound will never recover. It breaks my heart.
Please, if any of you can give me any other advice I will happily try it out. Thank you :)

When she tries to bite hold her neck from the top using your right hand and hold the chin up put pressure a little bit so the mouth is closed then point her face right in front of your eyes then stare at her eyes dont look away just stare at her in the eyes if she look at you then start staring at you tell her say NO! No! NO! if her eye moved look away while you guys staring at each other then that's a good thing she scared of you and you are the alpha but if she just staring at you her eyes not moving anywhere but only direct to you then that's a bad thing it means she dominating you and she will be the BOSS your boss so you better correct her and show her who is the real alpha now go work on it

What does "do not tolerate growling" means? Should I leave the room, yell at the puppy, hold them by the upper back? My puppy is getting really aggresive and I do not know what to do, if I walk away she follows me and bites my pants and my feets.

My 3.5 mth pup bites me when she gets angry... when I take things out of her mouth (like plastic that she may have grabbed) or when I am brushing her. How do I control this? The play biting is very much under control already and I have managed to train her to “leave it” when we are out. But I don’t walk around the house with treats all the time so in the moment that she has already taken something into her mouth, it’s not always possible to run and grab a treat to get her to refocus. Also with the brushing, I have been doing it using treats, she still get really aggressive and angry. Her bites are starting to tear skin this week and I have been bleeding when she bites now.

Maybe instead of brushing treat petting first. Or maybe try a different brush. The things Zac mentioned that I'm using are redirection with toy or food and in cases of aggression or excessive biting, Eden goes for a time out in her crate. Hope that may help.

I got a pup off Craigslist at 4 months old. She is sweet to us, but barks at anyone coming home or cars passing by. She definitely barks at strangers. What I’m alarmed at the most is that I let her sleep in bed with me (like I have done with my 2 previous dogs & never had an issue except them hogging up the bed each night). Well when I try to move her lil butt over while she is sleeping, she growls and tries to bite me. I turn on the lights and scold her NO, but 2 weeks in and she has done it like 6x .. vet said put her in the crate to sleep. I was hoping to fix it though. She is a lab mix.

Some dogs do nip and bite when they are awakened by sudden movement especially when it’s on a vulnerable part of their body like their rear (near their tails). One training a dog handler/trainer suggested is to softly call out the name of the pup and wait till theyre awake and then move them. Pr at least try to wkae them up by talking in a non aggressive manner so as not to trigger the normal fear/sleeping aggression response. Another thing that helped was to put treats near our bed and try to shake the back of my pup and when he looked, I’d move him to where I want him and of he doesnt growl or bite, offer one of the treats and praise. It took maybe 2 weeks of using treats then gradually just relying on praise alone but eventually, a quick tap on my puppy’s back was enough to get his attention and so he would either move out of my way or wait for me to move him where I wanted to. Hope this could be helpful.

My puppy is 11 weeks old. He is SUPER snuggly, loves to cuddle and are an angel. BUT, if he gets overhyper, he growls and nip at my fingers. I tell him firmly no, and i get him to his crate to calm down. I dont think this is aggresive behaviour, he is just so overexited that he cant controll himself. Will this lead to problems when he is older? Is it better to turn my back to him, and completly ignore him when he does this, or to let him calm down in his cage?

@@amayafernando4563 hi! I dont have him anymore. Unfortunately, one of our cats suddenly got very scared of the puppy. We tried our best to make him feel safe around the puppy, but he was just so scared of him. Our cat has met dogs before, with no issues.
When the puppy was trying to play with another of our cats, the scared cat got defensive and was about to attack the puppy.
Our neighbors drooled over the puppy since we got him, and they were looking for a new pup at the time, so it was a perfect situation for all.
He is now a huge and super friendly dog. He is super chill while indoors. He kinda loses it when he sees me tho xd

today i adopted a 2 year old chihuahua-mixed mutt, bailey. she’s a pretty medium to average sized dog, a bit bigger than my maltese-chihuahua mixed dog named Bruno. anyways, i introduced her to my home n she was still slightly frightened but slowly opened up to me. she n bruno we’re getting along at first but as he started to sniff really close to her, she started to growl. i decided it was enough for the day so i took bruno with me to my room where we took a nap while i put my sister in charge of bailey. when i woke up, i went to greet her n give her a toy but she growled at me n bit me, an hour later i just needed to get something from my sister then bailey started to growl aggressively n almost charge at me to bite me. im sure she just needs time to adjust to me n her new home w bruno but is there anything i can do to make this process better ?

Hey just keep going slow with the dogs it can take up to one month before they start loving each other. Do not force anything. feed them separate, separate bones and toys. do not create a competitive environment. I hope this helps!
