You’re really incredible Justin and I appreciate your insight and knowledge so much. I have learned much from your extensive work and dedication to reform. I am truly grateful for this opportunity to have access to such impactful information that will certainly help me change my life around.
You're AMAZING Justin. I have learned a ton from you and always appreaciate how easily you clarify your thoughts! You say it in a way where it just makes perfect sense.
I just watched your video while attempting to write my personal narrative. I wish I had found your channel/this video sooner as I am due for Federal sentencing in just 12 days. My appointed attorney told me the date of my sentencing about 36 hours ago and told me to write "a little something about my journey from addiction to recovery and my hopes for the future." (I am 621 days sober after being in active addiction for 14+ years, work full time for a non-profit in assisting adults with Autism) My attorney wants my narrative by the END OF THE DAY for the memorandum he will be submitting to the judge. I am scrambling to follow your EXCELLENT advice in producing my contribution to my sentencing hearing I would be so grateful for any assistance you might be willing to provide. I am well aware of the dire time frame I am operating under but if you are in any way able to perhaps give me a few personalized tips or answer a couple questions I have, I would be eternally grateful. My questions are about: 1.) formatting (mainly the order in which to present my narrative) 2.) whether to include a timeline of traumatic events that lead up to the charge 3.) whether my narrative will be a public record? 4.) and how to provide my attorney with what he asked for without making my letter to the judge sound (as you mention in the Faults) like, I AM so awesome! Yay for ME and MY accomplishments. Here's what I want out of MY life..." I don't know how to state my hopes: going from where I am now (doing social work, being halfway to my first BA) to where I want to be: a career aimed at deswading teenagers from going down the destructive path I was on for so many years, being a parent myself, providing for my parents (who should be retired but emptied their 401K accounts to get me help) and so much more... Stating my hopes for my future makes me feel as if my hopes portray a lack of understanding of the seriousness of what I'm facing (the presentencing investigation report guideline is 253 months based on the 33 points I have (19 from previous drug-related offenses for which I served and discharged the given sentences). I meant for this to be short and I KNOW I just need to get to writing my narrative/letter. Thank you for the service you provide in producing this very informative and potentially life-altering content. I aspire to help others in a similar manner so you give me hope for a future- no matter what may come. 🙏
Thank you for your help, I’m trying to draft a letter for my nephew who goes up for sentencing. Appreciate your advice. Any advice to reverse aging process lol! I know how you feel mate. Knowing in 54 this year I hate getting old lol! But your looking great! .
Hi I'm more knowledgeable now after listening to your information. I don't know where to find your book, I'm writing a letter for my son who's in federal detention center after 3months in the county jail. It's weapons and drug charges. It's his first offense ever. How can I get your book? Thank you

I think I did a very good job of identifying with the victims. I certainly understood their desire for justice. What I did poorly was trying to have my cake and eat it too. In other words, in one sentence or paragraph I would fully accept responsibility, then in the next paragraph I would offer some justification or rationalization for my conduct. I was very fortunate the judge didn’t punish me for this approach. I didn’t know any better.
What is a good time to submit your personal narrative to your judge? After plea hearing, before sentencing? Should a copy also be submitted to probation? If so, should they be addressed to each party? Wouldn't it seem insincere to give judge and probation the same document, but addressed to each as though a original document?

How much is it to write ✍️ a letter?

You’re welcome! And thanks for compliment. (49 now!!)
Where can I find that book on your website, I was unable to find it. Thanks

Thank you very much for your response, I'm going to look at it now.
Many thanks!!
Curiously what were some of the good and bad things you did in your letter? Did you write one??
I think I did a very good job of identifying with the victims. I certainly understood their desire for justice. What I did poorly was trying to have my cake and eat it too. Another terrific video, thank you.
So happy you found value in video. Thank you.

Thanks for questions. Would you like to interview me for your channel and I can answer these questions?
Absolutely. Although i only have 8 subscribers and not tech savvy. So it may be better done on your channel. ❤

Do you have to write a letter to your judge?
No, you do not have to. If defendants are not prepared to convey the appropriate message, they should not turn in a personal letter/narrative.
