Recently I got shortlisted for Junior Specialist Role at BCG. After clearing the Case Study Round, HR called me for the 2nd round of Interview on the same day. As the results for Case Study round was delayed by 3 4 Hours, I thought 2nd round would be conducted on some other day. Since I was commuting when I received a call from HR for 2nd round, I asked her to give me 10mins for settling down. In next few minutes HR told me that they'll take my interview in the next week. I was assured by the HR for same. Ultimately 2nd round never happend as they found a suitable candidate while making me wait for a week (I was ready to give the interview on the same day). Few days back, I saw the same guy who was selected for that role on Linkedin. It broke me down when I saw the HR commenting a Congratulatory message on his post!

Shatakshi, i am a 26 years old, 2017 Btech passout from an average college, fully preparing for UPSC. I have given interview last year(actually this year only in April) and missed by a small margin. I am again wriitng my Mains in September this year. I can join GGI post Mains.

How can employer has an upper edge if demand is high and supply is low? I'm assuming you are taking about the supply of employees.
Demand meaning meaning number of aspirants willing to work for MBB which is high, while supply is the number of the consultants MBBs have positions for.

Aarna, I have a friend from ISB who is unfortunately on wheel chair. He had worked in Investment Banking post St. Xavier's College, Kolkata and got offer to work at Bain & Company. One of the most smartest person I know from my ISB Batch. Hope this gives you some hope :)

If one guy is a National Level Hockey player then after joining management consulting, he won't be able to pursue hockey that much because all his time will go into his job. So what's the point in looking a spike in extracurricular activities? One person is passionate about hockey won't mean anything other than what that is right?
@@cashmoney2159 But if he's put hardwork in being a hockey player, he's good at that. You can never say if he'll work hard in his current job as well. I'm pretty good at some things but not so good at others. If I put my non technical credentials in my technical resume, people won't bat an eye. This is just a generic statement. No substance in it.

@@SirPunzalot Depends on the role / practice offered on campus. Plus BCG has a larger pubsec footprint in India, SEA and ME&A.
@@randomshandom1 Unlike EYP and maybe Accenture, MBB doesn't fit you into a practice area straight outta B School. And I've seen reports that contradict this assertion, so I'm not sure.
